It was the first time I have ever tried fused glass. I was very nervous when I went into the class but Helen immediately put me at my ease and clearly explained the process. Helen had brought items to show the finished products and encouraged us to experiment with all the lovely coloured glass she had brought along. She was available at each stage and gave me confidence. It was a lovely workshop - only 8 of us so individual attention. The pieces we had created were taken off by Helen for firing and were delivered a few days later - wonderful! So exciting to see the pieces. I will definitely be booking on another course!!!

Just enjoyed another fabulous fused glass workshop with Helen.
Really pleased with the pieces. Helen is so encouraging and helpful during the session. The extensive materials supplied during the workshop means a vast choice of colours of all shapes and sizes. The finished items are returned quickly and beautifully presented. I look forward to another session in 2022

Helen is a fantastic teacher giving you as much help as you need to make fabulous pieces of glass art. It was like Christmas Day when my work returned from being fired. Even the packaging was first-rate.
I will definitely be doing another course!

What a fabulous way to switch off for a few hours! I did the 3hr course and was amazed at how much we were all able to make! Especially as we enjoyed a lovely lunch at Oscos within that time. Helen made glass fusing so accessible to all and her enthusiasm was infectious. Once our creative juices kicked in, there was no stopping us! I was over the moon with the results of my pendant necklace, coaster and soap dish. I'd love to do a full day's course to truly immerse myself.

Response from Butterfly Effect Studio:

Hi Angela, thanks for taking the time to leave a review, I do appreciate it. I’m delighted that you enjoyed the workshop, it was a lively group that day, plenty of fun and giggles but lots of creativity too. Your pieces were really fabulous, great colour palette. And I agree, OSCO’s is a great venue too. I look forward to seeing you at one of my full day workshops in the future.

I went to one of Helen's 5-hour workshops and I'm so glad I did. I am a complete novice, but we were provided with a great array of materials and all the tools we needed to complete several items. Helen's a great teacher; helpful and encouraging. After quite a brief introduction on the main things to remember, we were off. We created what we wanted, to our own design, but she knew just when to step in with invaluable guidance.

If you're thinking of doing one of Helen's workshops - go for it. Not only will you have an enjoyable afternoon, you'll have a lovely sense of achievement when you see your finished items.

Response from Butterfly Effect Studio:

Hello Pamela, this was so thoughtful of you to submit the review, I do appreciate it. I was pleased you enjoyed the day and what beautiful pieces you created, especially the tea light holders, I remember these were going to be gifts and I’m sure the recipients were delighted. It would be great to see you again at one of the workshops, I’ll keep you posted of any new dates.

I attended one of Helen's fused glass workshops at the Butterfly Effect Studio with two family members and a friend. It was a brilliant experience which we thoroughly enjoyed and we left very proud of all the things we had made. We were a mixed group of absolute novice to more experienced crafters, all new to fused glass. Helen's kind, supportive and effective tuition enabled all of us to achieve some impressive fused glass makes. She creates a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere as she shares her talent with you. I thoroughly recommend this and trying any of her courses.

Response from Butterfly Effect Studio:

Each one of you created something amazing and I enjoyed your enthusiasm and company. I hope to see you at future workshops and perhaps we can encourage David to have another go at joining us in our creative adventures!

I have done a couple of fused glass courses with Helen, and have really enjoyed them. Helen is a fantastic teacher; she is patient and encouraging, and full of knowledge about the subject. Her calm and supportive manner instantly puts the students at ease, and she is always on hand with ideas and constructive comments, if needed. Helen goes above and beyond to make sure that all students have something to take away that they can be proud of. She provides all the materials needed, as well as plenty of refreshments for hungry and thirsty crafters!
I would not hesitate to recommend one of Helen's courses to anyone wishing to try their hand at crafting.

Response from Butterfly Effect Studio:

Hi Jackie, that’s so kind of you to write your review, I really do appreciate it. It’s always great having your company, you are keen to learn new methods of working with a range of materials/techniques and I’m sure the recipients of your fused glass gifts were thrilled.

I attended one of Helen’s 2 hour fused glass workshops and it was fabulous. She is a wonderful tutor who clearly knows how to bring out the artistic talent in everyone. Drawing on her expertise, Helen provided a rich assortment of materials for us to explore and use. The result was an array of items reflecting the individuals who crafted them and each one was simply beautiful - a lastingly memory of a joyous experience. With lots of tips and advice and clearly a passion for sharing her skills, Helen’s encouragement and enthusiasm for the medium shines through - I am now totally hooked! Thank you Helen :)

Really enjoyed this day long glass fusing class. I left with a wide range of items made and ready to be fired. I had tried fusing in the past but was able to try new techniques and really loved the laid back atmosphere. My friend attended and we had a great catch up whilst being creative and enjoying tea and lovely cake!
