All 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed our half day workshop with Julie and are very pleased with the finished products. We chose to make earrings, coasters, small plaques and a wave picture. Julie talked us through the different types of glass available and encouraged us to use all forms. There was so much to choose from and we are hoping to book again so that we can learn more and add to our current collection.

Julie was an excellent host and teacher. We had a fun afternoon making our items and they all turned out great. A top tip would be to go with a bit of an idea of what you’d like to make. We dithered for too long, but Julie’s advice and support was a great help. We’ve booked the Christmas workshop, it was that much fun!

Really enjoyed this class! It was fun and interesting and Julie was excellent host & teacher...also loved meeting the fluffy cat & shy dog!
Heather - - #22552
I spent a morning with Julie creating my masterpiece! As a complete novice Julie quickly put me at my ease and made suggestions to help me develop my ideas. Nothing was too much bother and if I asked about a type of glass, she had all the options available to me advising how they would look once the item had come out of the kiln. Julie was very patient with me and I didn't feel rushed at all. I was absolutely delighted with the end result. Thank you for your guidance and I highly recommend a workshop with Julie.

The workshop was very well structured and Julie was excellent at explaining the process and friendly and welcoming I was very impressed with the set up of the room where the workshop was held and there was a massive amount of choice of glass, moulds, colours and textures. I feel it was well worth going and learning a new skill. Brilliant :)

My friend and I attended our first half day workshop with Julie as a joint Christmas present. We will definitely be back for more! Julie was very welcoming, there were a myriad of options and everything was very well explained. The time flew by, always a good sign! I am delighted with the decorated “poppy” plate I made as a gift and I know the recipient will be equally thrilled. Thankyou Julie
Margaret Walker - - #21493
Julie was very welcoming and accommodating to our group. We all had different projects in mind and Julie provided what we needed to accomplish the designs. With so many options and possibilities, next time we might consider all having the same aim in mind so as to all learn a particular skill. We are all very pleased with our finished work.

I was looking for a new challenge and found Julies workshops on this page after reading the reviews and the description I decided to book myself and a friend to do a half day workshop . WOW we had a lovely time learnt loads , Julie made the whole experience very enjoyable. She helped us create what we wanted to do and more . Gave us encouragement. The reviews and descriptions of the workshops are very accurate worth booking. We will be going back. Thank you Julie .

Had a great workshop with Julie a few weeks ago. Came along with my Dad as a joint Christmas present and we were given the creative freedom we wanted and helped to make our designs look the best they could! Love the finished results, would definitely come back to create more :)

We did the taster session. It was fantastic. Julie found exactly the right balance between being helpful and letting you experiment and come up with your own design.
She was so accommodating even organising a session to suit us even though she hadn’t planned starting the courses until the following week.
The day itself was so much fun, we made two coasters each and even if they hadn’t turned out the way we wanted we would have been delighted with how the day went. Luckily when they did come out of the kiln they were perfect.
I can’t recommend this day enough, it truly was a wonderful experience.

We attended this course Sunday 25th November 2018 and were a little apprehensive as we had not done anything like this at all. It was easy to find and we were greeted at the door by Julie. We were there to make the Christmas decorations and everything was out ready for us to start straight away. Julie explained what everything was and what it was for. She was constantly on hand with advice and her instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Julie was also a very good host as we were given plenty of coffee and a lovely mince pie. I would highly recommend a visit. Great fun!! Thank you Julie

I attended Julie's glass making course last Wednesday and had a lovely time. Julie was a lovely host and provided tea and biscuits. She made everyone feel welcome and at home. We were a group of 5 and each made two Christmas decorations. Julie provided information on all the types of glass and how to apply them and then she let everyone design their own decorations. It was lovely that everyone came home with decorations that were unique to them. Julie was there to help when required but also gave everyone plenty space to experiment. We all had a lovely time.

Better than excellent. What a fun afternoon with free reign to all types and colours of glass. I went with the idea of a wave of poppies, and I got exactly what I wanted and more. I love the visual texture created by the medium grade glass I used. Julie was so helpful throughout, and I loved the visit to the workshop be Callie.

I had a lovely afternoon trying the different techniques and was so pleased with the results once they came out of the kiln. Julie was a very good teacher and a lovely hostess and made me feel very welcome.
I had been wanting to try glass fusing for a long time and Julie really explained things clearly and gave me the right foundation to take this further if I want to in the future.
Already booked to go back, this time bringing my Mum with me to do some Christmas decorations!

We both had a really enjoyable and productive afternoon. We had had no experience but Julie was a helpful, knowable and welcoming host. We both produced some lovely pieces and found it a very relaxing experience. We had booked to do another course ( short Xmas decoration course) before we left based on the afternoon's tuition! Neither of us would consider ourselves artistic but the pieces we produced are really lovely -we were given free reign with design/colours but Julie was always there as a guiding hand if required. We would both recommend this course as one you could repeat and still enjoy.

My daughter and I had a fantastic morning with Julie - Julie made the experience very informative and relaxed. Making our pieces was so enjoyable (and I found it very therapeutic). When we picked up the pieces once they'd been in the kiln I couldn't believe that I could make something which looked so professional! Thoroughly enjoyable - would definitely recommend.
Lynn Thompson - - #14646
I was bought this workshop session as a Christmas gift from my husband who knows I love anything crafty! I really enjoyed the session and made a lovely piece of glass art which is now standing in my lounge. There is a huge range of lovely things to do and Julie carefully guides you through the options. I have done lots of craft sessions over the years and thoroughly enjoyed this 1-2-1. I am sure I will be back to make something else. I will be recommending it to others.
Lynsey Rollins - - #13880
It was a family treat for my husband, myself and two daughters, and we had a lovely time. Our biggest decision was what to make! Finally, we made our choices and they've turned out beautiful. Julie was really enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helpful.

I attended Julie's fused glass workshop with my partner & nine year old son. We had no clue what to expect. Julie was very welcoming, patient and passionate about the fused glass process and the kind of things that could be achieved. We all tried very different projects and were amazed with the results. Throughout the workshop Julie was very knowledgeable and encouraging. She really brought out our creativity (we surprised ourselves). Our fused glassware will be a beautiful reminder of the wonderful time we had and I would definitely recommend this course to others.

I was lucky to be gifted a voucher from my partner, and spent a very enjoyable afternoon with Julie, and am very proud of my first piece of fused glass art! Julie encourages and advises - but doesn't take over - and has great knowledge of what may work and what definitely won't! She has helped me make the decision to start being more crafty in this area - and I'm looking forward to working with her more. Definitely the best gift I could have been given!
Charlotte Howell - - #12693

William Haley - - #12637
I did a workshop with Julie today having received a voucher for Christmas. Julie’s communication prior to the workshop was great and the workshop itself was brilliant. Julie helps you by knowing what is possible or not but let’s you decide on what you want to do and helps you to execute it by giving you tips without taking over. Haven’t seen the finished product yet but it won’t change my review. I’d definitely recommend this course!

I attended this half day course and was amazed what I could and did achieve. Julie explains things very well and put me at ease. Showed work that had worked and some that didnt which helped me understand the glass process and firing. My work of art is now on my dining table for all to see. I am going back in the new year to create more . Thank you again for this wonderful experience .

I have attended two of Julie's workshops so far making Christmas decorations and coasters. I have absolutely no artistic talent yet with Julie's expertise, help, advice and extreme patience I have produced works of art that I am delighted to display in my home. Julie is so lovely and welcoming and I cannot recommend her or the workshops highly enough - I will be booking again to make more Christmas decorations now I have 'the bug'.
