"How did we create such fabulous deer sculptures? All down to Jo‘s easy to follow methods and clear instructions. It’s a full-on day but what we produced at the end was amazing. Thoroughly recommended. Really impressed and impressive- my friend’s can’t believe it’s something I actually made!"
"Had a great day with Robert and a small group learning the techniques to make a spoon. Robert was really good at explaining the skills and sharing his knowledge. It was very satisfying to be able to start with a fresh piece of wood in the morning and by the end of the day have my own spoon. Would highly recommend to anyone who is interested, a great day."
"This is our third couse with Paul and as usual his manner, style and patience is excellent and his ability to ensure everything is clear and precise makes the whole experience enjoyable. I wish there were further glass fusion courses covering Slumping and how to use the kiln and explaining firing programme scheduling."
"I had such a good day. I arrived slightly frazzled after a drive that had taken much longer than expected, but the warm welcome and a cup of tea from Jo quickly settled me. There are plenty of examples of her slate mosaic in the house for inspiration but in fact, I found that the materials themselves were inspiration enough. A wonderful selection of pieces of slate and an Aladdin’s cave of bits and pieces to insert in the gaps between the slate.
Jo had prepared two backing boards for us and showed us how to attach the fixings and mix the adhesive. Then we were off. She gave advice where required and plenty of encouragement. And beautiful pieces of work emerged, we each had our own style and colour choices and every one was lovely. I wasn’t too sure whether I was going to like my second one but with a little guidance from Jo it’s just as successful as the first.
I’m pretty sure I will be back, maybe for a large piece next time. Thank you so much Jo."
"The upholstery course was fantastic! I brought a small footstool as a project to complete while being instructed by Jo. It was immensely enjoyable to see something get restored that had been gathering dust in my attic for years, and knowing that I did it myself was a really rewarding experience. I am not a very crafty person but I still managed it all thanks to Jo's instruction. She is very patient and explained each step very clearly. I'd definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn a new skill."
"Really enjoyed the day. Good to see the variety of weights of fabric that everyone was using, and the different effects that resulted. When I've finished my project with old tee shirts, I'm keen to try something with tweed scraps."
"Excellent course, the tutors are amazing and I can't believe the quality of the footstool I made - neither can anyone else! Never used any of the power tools before but feeling confident and keen to do more. Highly recommend."
"We went to the Fused Glass taster session on 2nd December. It was brilliant and I would thoroughly recommend it! April went through the principles and the tools, and guided us through the basic steps. We made Christmas decorations and those who were more confident were able to make an additional item. I want to go on the mosaic course next! PS a lovely coffee was included from the neighbouring cafe."
"A great course which I thoroughly recommend to anybody remotely interested in stained glass and its history and practice. Jamal is a knowledgeable tutor and is very patient and friendly. The course is perfectly suited to the one day format and made a great Xmas present."
"I bought one of Jo’s sculpture kits to make some of the human sculptures as a gift.
The step by step instructions, easy to follow tips and materials I had made the whole experience delightful.
I couldn’t recommend enough. "

"This course with Lucy was unbelievable. She welcomed us into her home and studio and was extremely friendly, supportive and warm.
Her wealth of experience was evident and she managed to take me from complete beginner to able to carve my own sculpture.
I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking of trying stone carving!"
Lucy Churchill's Stone Carving Workshops responded:
" Thanks Molly - it was a pleasure to have you here and get to know you! Your artwork is inspirational and I can't wait to come up to Scarborough to see all you are doing at your Mandy Apple arts centre. And to see where you will go with your stonecarving! "
"I had a great time on this course, I loved that there was an end product to take home - very rewarding. Jo was a great teacher, very clear and concise in her instructions and encouraging and supportive as we went along. I would definitely recommend anyone wanting to try their hand at this to give it a go. It was good value for money too and the cakes were a pleasant bonus!"

"Stuart took me through the course at my own pace and I learned a lot during the two days. I now feel more confident having been shown the proper techniques of woodturning. Just as important, I now know what not to do.
"We had a fantastic afternoon making a beautiful lantern. There were lots of stencils available to make the fused glass panels of the lantern and a wide range of glass colours. I designed a festive winter theme while my friend went for the four seasons so she can keep her lantern up all year. Melanie is a lovely, inspiring tutor and the workshop is in such a nice environment- and the refreshments were great too! We are already planning our next workshop at Crafts in the Valley!"
"I totally loved this course! It was such fun! Well organised, relaxed, great tutoring, met lovely people, enjoyed fabulous food and created an amazing basket! Would recommend it to everyone! Thank you so much Jon and Becky 😊"
" We had an amazing day learning about how to safely use the tools and Keith shared his extensive knowledge about stained glass. I thought my idea about what to make was ambitious, but no need to worry as Keith guided me through. My friend got her inspiration on what to make from looking at pieces in the studio. If you are thinking about booking a course, you don't need any artistic skills, just a passion to try something new. We are both feeling proud of what we'd achieved.
Thanks Keith for your patience and sharing your skills "
Antique and Period Glassworks responded:

"Thoroughly enjoyed my evening wreath making with Sarah & Chantelle, who both provided expert guidance and support along with all the greenery and equipment needed, along with delicious mince pies and warm mulled wine! "
"A relaxing and enjoyable day.
Carol was an excellent tutor and ensured all on the course received her attention and experience to achieve their aim of creating a felt Robin. Whether you were new to needle felting or had previous experience.
I would like the opportunity to do another workshop to increase my felting ability and confidence.
Thank you Carol for a lovely day.
Felted Friends responded:
" Thank you Sandra for your kind words. It was a pleasure having you at the workshop. Your little robin was delightful and I look forward to teaching you further techniques in future. Enjoy your little “felted friend”.
