I’ve always been fascinated with glass blowing and was so excited when I was bought a voucher for my birthday. The studio was well equipped and Ricky was an excellent tutor and explained every process in great detail. I made 4 pieces and was given many options for each of them, I made a paper weight, tea light holder, ornament and vase. I can’t wait to be told they are ready to collect so that I can see the final results. If you are interested in glass works and glass blowing this is definitely the course for you and it’s great value for money.
John Bartlett - - #29705
I booked this course for my wifes birthday as she had said for a while she would like try glass blowing. After looking at available options, the course being offered by Ricky looked like the best value for the amount of objects we would produce.
Ricky's facilities were perfect for the group size, 3 adults. We started with an induction and run down of the day so we knew how things would run and then got straight to collecting glass. Ricky guided us through the whole process each time we made something different as well as encouraging us to work together and help each other.
My wife and I each made 4 items which we are very pleased with. Ricky was able to give us finishing options after we left and send images of the finished sculptures before they were couriered to us.
From pre booking to after delivery, communication with Ricky was quick and clear, and Ricky was highly professional, knowledgeable and passionate about sharing his craft with others.
I would highly recommend this course and Ricky as an artist and tutor.
Matthew Keogh - - #27231
Three of us recently did the beginner’s glassblowing day with Creative Vibe Glassblowing. It was a fascinating experience and very enjoyable. Ricky was a calm and very skilled tutor and quickly put us all at ease. We produced some beautiful pieces throughout the day and couldn’t quite believe what we had all learnt and achieved.
I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone wanting to try glassblowing. We all agreed that it was one of the best courses any of us had done. We are really looking forward to signing up for the intermediate day.
Lesley P - - #27209
I attended this course with two friends. We all had a really fun, enjoyable and educational day! Ricky was fantastic, a great teacher and good fun, and we are all thrilled with our various creations.
Nancy Jensen - - #26815
Really enjoyed the day course, it took 6 hours and there wasn't a dull moment. Watching the glass melt, form, mix the colours and glow was mesmerising. There were 3 of us on the course and we made 4 items each, we were given freedom over what colours we wanted to use (could pick more than 1 per item) and we were also given the choice of what items to make when it came to the type of sculptures and final pieces we wanted to create; ie a glass baubles, a glass bowl or a vase. Its good to be open minded with whatever you make, the air bubbles you blow into the glass and the heat from the furnace very much determines shapes and sizes. Ricky is very patient and you can tell he enjoys what he does for a living. If your not making your own glass pieces you're helping the others on the course with their pieces which gives a good all rounded experience. Ricky also has showcases of his creations in the workshop which are very inspiring, he is very talented! He got our pieces ready quickly for us, we were able to collect them the week after. Really enjoyed the whole experience and would love to do it again now I know a little bit about what I'm doing!
Rachael - - #26158
I booked this course as a gift for my husband. I thought it would be fun but I wasn’t expecting to do much. I was so wrong. It was fun (I was right about that) but by the end of it we felt like experts. Each piece we made taught us a new skill so we weren’t just blowing a piece of glass that had been prepared for us but doing everything. I went with the intention of having a few glass objects to give to our families. They are never getting them, they are mine to keep and treasure. Thank you.
Francesca Baker - - #26143
I highly recommend this glass blowing day. Ricky was patient and a great teacher. Everyone is highly impressed with the items I made (bowl, ball, sculptured piece and a hanging air plant holder). The course was great value for money. Thank you Ricky!
Candice Pell - - #25990
Bought the day course for my partner and myself for her birthday and the day exceeded my expectations.
The day is packed full of learning and application. Unlike other courses you get to make multiple objects in increasing difficulty, and even get a choice of different options in the later glass pieces.
Ricky was a fantastic teacher, was highly personable and very engaging. My partner absolutely loved this gift and the sculptures we made arrived in the post safe and sound.
All in all, I can't recommend Ricky or his glass blowing classes enough!
Anthony Green - - #24921
Such a lovely day! Ricky has great skills as a teacher as well as being a wonderful craftsman. It was a real hands-on experience from the start and I felt I was learning, not just being told what to do. Skills and confidence built up during the day and the finished pieces look surprisingly good.
I will certainly be recommending Ricky and CreativeVibes ..... and Craft Courses (a good way to find out more interesting things to do).
Liz Williams - - #22976
Received a day course as a birthday present. It has long been on my bucket-list, and it did not disappoint. Ricky was a great teacher, very informative and demonstrating/explaining very well. Thoroughly enjoyed the day, and absolutely delighted with the four pieces I made. I will certainly be back again!
Anne - - #22389
Ricky was extremely welcoming, chatty and a fab teacher. I had a brilliant day and would thoroughly recommend. There was just 2 of us on the day and I got to make 4 items - a paperweight, bowl for a tealight candle, a hanging piece and a sculptured piece.
Megan Hill - - #20550
I bought a beginner glass blowing course for my wife’s birthday. Booking was easy and the day itself was fabulous. Ricky was an amazing teacher who took great time and care to work with the students to create their pieces. The care and attention continued afterwards when finalising the pieces for dispatch to her to ensure they were just as as my wife wanted.
I would advise anyone considering a Creative Vibe Glassblowing course not to hesitate.
Tim Wilson - - #19905
I bought this as a gift for my husband. We both attended and the course was fabulous. Ricky was patient, calm and a great teacher. We created some beautiful pieces and would definitely recommend his class.
Sarah - - #19828
A fantastic course. Ricky was very attentive and patient with us. Would highly recommend to anyone who is tempted to get a taste of glass blowing. The class is very small max 3 so you get plenty of 1 to 1 time and benefit from learning more techniques as you get through the day.
David Gavini - - #19463
I spent a really enjoyable day on Creative Vibe’s beginners glass blowing course just before Christmas. Ricky is a very gentle and patient teacher who successfully taught three absolute beginners to create some amazing pieces of glass art. I would highly recommend the course to everybody. Tony
Tony - - #18854
I did Ricky's beginner day in November 2018. It was an excellent, really memorable experience and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants to try glassblowing for the first time. There were three of us on the course and each of us produced three items - a paperweight, an ornament and a bauble or a decorative dish. We all got plenty of hands-on experience with 'gathering' molten glass from the furnace, shaping it, adding colour and blowing it. Ricky got us to help each other so we were kept involved and interested the whole time.
I was particularly impressed with Ricky's calmness and patience. There are obviously risks using furnaces and hot glass, but Ricky kept everything really well controlled and totally safe. He created a relaxed and creative atmosphere which was great to experience.
He also followed up with pictures of pur creations and 'action shots' from the workshop. I'm now really looking forward to picking up my items - they have to cool for a few days - and showing them to family and friends. I may even sign up for another workshop!
Grace Williams - - #18359
Being a complete novice I was nervous about the course....but I loved every minute. Ricky was funny, patient and an amazing teacher. I produced four pieces getting harder each time. I really didn’t want it to end. Nothing was to much trouble for Ricky who took time with each of us to produce a stunning piece of glass work. I have recommended this course to anyone that will listen and if you have never had a go...book this course...you really won’t regret it. I’m hooked on glassblowing now and saving for the next course!!! Thank you Ricky. X
Samantha Mallett - - #16825
I had an absolutely brilliant day working with Ricky in his lovely studio. Ricky is a very kind, considerate teacher who patiently taught me how to create several different pieces of glass work, starting from a simple piece, getting progressively harder throughout the day. As there were only three of us on the day we all had plenty of time to get creative without any rush.
I cannot praise or recommend the course highly enough, and would encourage anyone to have a go, you will be really pleased you did.
Eunice Spence - - #16755
We had such a fantastic day! Incredible tuition, always felt like we were driving without ever feeling out of our depth. Ricky is hugely knowledgeable and patient and really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Have recommended to everyone I have spoken to about it and would recommend it to anyone! Thanks so much Ricky!
Matt Lloyd - - #16394
This was a fantastic present and we had a very productive day. Ricky is a great teacher, explaining the process clearly and offering help when needed. I really enjoyed this and would love to go back.
Debbie France - - #16195
A really great day in glorious surroundings with the very patient Ricky and Adam. Ricky is such a calm teacher and I was amazed at how much we achieved in a day. Great fun, highly recommended and very proud of my creations!
Nicola Preston - - #15089
I had a wonderful day trying my hand at glass blowing with Creative Vibes. The location is idyllic, set in outbuildings of an old Rectory House along a quiet country lane and the groups are kept small. Despite having no experience the course was very hands on, always with Ricky's calm and knowledgeable tuition. I made three pieces on the day which I never dreamt I could have created before I started. I have already been recommending the course to others!
Miranda Chamberlain - - #14957
I really enjoyed the workshop. The instruction and pace of the day was perfect, and it was really nice working with two other novices - we all helped each other. Really impressed with the items we were able to make, all of which are good enough to have on display and demonstrate the natural progression of the skills acquired as the day progressed.
Sara - - #14381
I had a great day with Ricky, he's very easy going and is really clear in his instruction. He helps with colour choices and helps put your piece right when it goes awry.
The studio is set in the most gorgeous location, I was a bit dubious driving up the track, but it's like a trip back in time and really easy to find. My sat nav had no problem.
I made 4 things all of which I'm really happy with, even my paper weights I thought I'd have no use for I completely love
Many thanks for a great day, I will surely be back!
Jessica - - #13957
I got this for me and my partner. We have a pretty full on life with many hobbies but quite often do something a bit different to mix it up a bit and even with this, my partner described this as the 'best day out he's EVER had.' Ricky was great at guiding us through and we got through so much during the day.
sammy - - #12978
You must go on this course it is an amazing experience with a great teacher. Ricky is a natural and explains everything beautifully. The chance to try different things was a lovely surprise, presumed it would be just a paperweight and that's it but we got to experience more than that.
Would defo recommend this course to anyone
Christine - - #12860
We arrived on the day with little expectations, but were blown (no pun intended) away by Ricky’s course! Ricky is a natural teacher, he clearly knows his stuff and we created some amazing pieces. He showed us a variety of different techniques and skills, patiently guided us through the process and even sat to have lunch with us. I thought it would be much less hands on, but the day was all about us and we created everything ourselves. Without a doubt, we will be back for another go!
Matt & Jess - - #12620
Cannot praise Ricky or the course enough, its was all perfectly explained at every stage with such patience and just amazing fun, cannot wait to show off my glass. Definately 5 star i would not hesitate to recommed it.
Carolyn Doe - - #11301
11 out of 10 for Creative Vibe glassmaking. Fantastic day and worth every penny & more. Ricky is a great teacher - loads of patience & really helps you get the best out of the day. He explains everything really well & helps you create amazing pieces. I can't believe I actually made them myself. Will definitely be going back again in the future.
Tracey Tibbitts - - #11167
Had a very inspiring day with Ricky yesterday (11th October 2017) Instructed clearly throughout the day by Ricky on what could be done, why this has happened , we can do that approach, which was very refreshing considering working with this medium is very technical and limited to a degree, especially for a complete glass blowing 'virgin'
Very fortunate to have Ricky to myself for the whole day and at no point was I under any pressure to 'perform' thanks to Ricky's laid back but also very safety conscious and professional approach to teaching throughout the day. Brilliant, fun, inspiring to learn more and fantastic value, would highly recommend having a go, you will be amazed at what can be produced in a single day.
Ray White - - #10997
I cannot recommend this course enough.
Ricky was a fantastic tutor explaining the process in detail before we commenced with each stage. He was incredibly relaxed, patient and encouraging. I am waiting for my pieces to arrive through the post but Ricky has sent photos of my work and I am quite frankly staggered at how well they have turned out.
Give it a go!
Nina - - #10933
Ricky put on a fantastic course, ensuring that everyone had a chance to do everything (including assisting the other people on the course). His patient approach was matched to both beginners and those with more experience, and he took pains to make sure that our pieces were really ours (i.e. no jumping in and "let me just fix that for you"). We got a lot done in just a day, and the cost includes Ricky cold-working the pieces afterwards. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone - it's an amazing experience, and there's no-one better to do it with. Can't wait to go again!
Alison Lloyd - - #10884
Ricky was a brilliant teacher. Patient and laid back, the whole day was an absolute joy. We made far more than I was expecting, and with only 3 on the course, we each had plenty of time at the bench and furnace, acting as assistants to each other for the trickier operations.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the course to anyone who fancied trying this interesting craft.
Thanks for a superb day!
Brett Thorn - - #10882
I had a great day doing this course. It was really fun and made some very cool things. Thanks
Ruth Sharman - - #10605
My mother and I did this course on the recommendation of a friend. We had a fantastic day. Ricky is knowledgable, patient and fun.
We produced some lovely pieces and were thrilled with the results.
If you are looking for a "doing present" for someone and are bored with the same old afternoon tea's and spa days, I would thoroughly recommend this one day course.
Catherine Villegas - - #10165
An amazing adventure. The two other girls booked on the course didn't turn up, so I ended up having a one-to-one glassblowing course with Ricky. It was really incredible! Ricky was extremely patient, calm and reassuring. He went through each of the steps repeatedly, making sure that you could follow/remember all the steps. Needless to say glassblowing is not as easy as it seems, but after a few tries I did seem to 'blow' better, but it is one of those things which you need to have a lot of patience with yourself. Ricky was always there to help if you couldn't 'blow' as much as you wished. I ended up making 4 pieces at the end of the day, a paperweight, a bowl, a sculpture and a vase. Ricky offered you a range of colours and pieces you could make, and I exchanged some wonderful ideas with him. I definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to try glassblowing. Once you start you'd be amazed how much you can do, and when the colours swirl in the glory hole it's truly amazing. You can make so many presents as well as things for yourself. You can also bring a friend (or two) with you and have a wonderful day with them. Do bring your own lunch though, as I didn't know you had to bring mine. It does get very hot, so it's good to wear a thin long sleeved tee-shirt, as your arms are more protected from the heat that way. Also wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be standing a lot during the day.
Jiao Jiao - - #10157
We had a fantastic day with Ricky. As complete beginners we were amazed at how much we managed to create in one short day. Ricky was patient and helpful every step of the way and taught us so much about working with glass. He was happy to advise us on colour choices and design but ultimately gave us the freedom to make our own unique creations.
If you're looking for a truely memorable and creative day out with keepsakes to treasure then look no further- Ricky is your man!
Vikki - - #9947
I was blown away (no pun intended) by Rickys patience, expertise and encouragement. It was a fantastic day with one other lady, Kate, who was as interested and fascinated at the prospect of creating something with what looked like a molten alien blob. With Rickys help we created sculptural and recognisable usable pieces and the time just flew by. I would thoroughly recommend his courses and hope to be returning for a follow up day soon.
Tina fox - - #9802
Had a fabulous day today. Ricky is very patient and knowledgeable. He explained every process clearly and is an excellent teacher. I had not experienced glassblowing before and was amazed at how the glass behaves and can be worked into wonderful shapes and colours.
Looking forward to receiving the finished pieces I made. Highly recommend.
Kate Gamble - - #9755
Unbelievable experience... We attended the beginners class and we were given a health and safety talk before we jumped into the fun part. As the day progressed Ricky gave us a choice on what we could produce next. We created four different pieces each, using a variety of methods. Ultimately this gave us a wide range of things to take away that we now display proudly in our home. The day was fantastic, Ricky was brilliant at explaining everything but also allowing us to really get stuck in and involved. A very knowledgable and great teacher, Ricky made us both feel very comfortable.
We would definitely recommend this to anyone who has an interest in glass blowing because its well worth the money and a great experience!
Alison & Dion - - #9748
We asked to create some Christmas baubles and that's exactly what Ricky helped us to create: 9 beautiful Christmas baubles.
He listened to what we wanted and took us patiently through the stages, entirely at our own pace.
After a quick safety briefing we were blowing our first bauble, since there are only two people in the class, you are always doing something, whether as support for your partner or working with the glass yourself.
As complete beginners, we really didn't expect to be able to produce so many such beautiful pieces.
Ricky was very good at suggesting ways to achieve the effects we were after. He helped us rescue an overblown bauble and turn it into one that was even more beautiful.
The day went very quickly, broken by lunch in the lovely walled garden; he was very easy to chat to over lunch. I would throughly recommend this course to anyone who wants to create something beautiful from glass.
Liz & Craig - - #9541
A fantastic day with Ricky, always wanted to try glassblowing, he is such a good teacher. Ended up making three peices that I thought I could never do, the day was relaxed, fun and went so quickly didn't want it to end, thanks again Ricky, you a star!
Keith nelson - - #9328
This is the most amazing course I have ever been on. Ricky is an excellent teacher who enables you to feel confident with the material and realise its potential. You achieve so much in one day, producing 4 glass works. The course went well beyond my expectations and I will defiantly be going back to do more. Also, great value for money - I can't recommend it enough to anyone who wants to have a go at glassblowing....
Laura White - - #9321
I had a great day on this course. Ricky was a really good teacher, calm and with just the right balance of encouragement and support. The day was an excellent introduction for people who might want to take this further, but also allowed for a really creative and impressive "one off" day out. The pieces we made are lovely. I would absolutely recommend this course!
Wendy - - #9234
I had an amazing memorable day
Ricky is a fantastic teacher and really cares that the blown glass is as good as it can be. The classes are small so that us students have Ricky's almost full attention the whole time. Ricky's workshop is set in a beautiful garden, perfect to stop for a lunch break in between making your pieces. Your guaranteed to come away with some beautiful pieces of glassware xx
Claire Irvine - - #9146
Totally amazing experience as a complete novice I had quite low expectations of what I could create. But Ricky was kind extremely patient and knowledgeable. I would totally recommend this course a brilliant day thank you for your time and expertise
Karen Rodrigues-Ayers - - #8848
I've just been to pick up the pieces I made on a one day workshop with Ricky and am so pleased with them! The course was brilliant, a really interesting hands on day and I came away feeling like I'd really achieved something. Now seeing the finished pieces after a break of a couple of weeks, I can't believe how good they look! I would absolutely recommend Ricky's workshop to anyone.
Jenny - - #8847
Absolutely amazing! What a wonderful day. Ricky is a great teacher and artist. Course is very well structured. We had the most amazing experience. I am looking forward to show my art pieces to everybody.
Burcu - - #8826
An excellent day! Ricky was very knowledgeable and patient, taking us through each step with excellent advice and timing. To come away with the items I did (which I could have bought in a shop) with the knowledge that I had made them will give me a lot of pleasure in the future, as well as having a very enjoyable day.5
Steve Burke - - #8789
I would like to thank Ricky Keech at Creative Vibe Glass Blowing Course in Bedfordshire for a totally interesting and FUN day. I would absolutely recommend his course. I am a complete novice, but Ricky explained every step in a manner that I could understand. I was 1 of a group of 2 and we helped each other to create 4 different pieces with the sure guidance of Ricky. Fascinating material !!
Ron Warner - - #8502
A fantastic way to spend the day. Ricky is an excellent teacher, very clear and helpful. The day is very hands on and great fun. There were two of us on the course and we were involved the whole day supporting each other in the creation of our pieces. We got to make a sculptural piece, paperweight and final piece of our choice. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a go at glassblowing.
Louise Greenwood - - #8367
We were able to try so many different skills to create some amazing pieces. Ricky is an excellent teacher which is an unusual skill in itself. I'm not at all artistic, but he was able to guide my choices so my creations are really something worthwhile.
The course is a full day and very, very productive.
Would love to have another go.
Helen French - - #8038
A fabulous day glass blowing, Ricky teaches you in a very clear manner and is very calm which is handy when you are wielding a long pole with molten glass on the end! I made 4 pieces which I am very pleased with, I think next time I will use more colour as the effect I got is quite subtle and I want the next ones to be more vivid. I received my glass this morning and it was all very well packed and very exciting to see in real life. I will definitely be booking another course.
Niki Knight - - #7954
I was given the voucher as a present off my better half i looked on here to see what course i would like to do and after reading all the good comments left by other people i thought glass blowing that's the one. True to everyone's comments Ricky is one excellent teacher very good in the way he teaches you how to do it. If only i had teachers like him when i was at school i may have gone a bit more. On a serious note if you are thinking of doing glass blowing this is the course to do so. I will be back.
Darren Poole - - #7905
Excellent course! Ricky was very welcoming and a great teacher. We made 5 pieces each and were amazed at our progress. We both learnt a lot and are aiming to go back - just need a bigger display cabinet!!
Antony & Tonia - - #7843
What a fantastic day! Ricky is a really inspiring tutor and before I knew it I found myself practicing a skill I had only admired others doing before. The pace of the course is just right and by the end of the day I was so pleased to have made 4 pieces that I could keep as mementos of a very special day. Ricky kept things simple to start off with but soon had us blowing glass objects, adding pigments and learning how to use a whole range of tools and techniques. I can't wait to have another go!
Sean Hale - - #7684
I bought a Sunday course for my husband and me as his Christmas gift. We had a really good day. Ricky is a patient and likeable teacher who took us through the craft of glass making from creating a nugget of blown glass, through three other pieces of increasing complexity. The day was good value for money and an experience we will always remember. Highly recommended!
Amanda - - #7382
I booked this course as a surprise for my mum's birthday. We had such fun. Ricky was a great teacher and we learnt so much. We can't wait to see our finished pieces. Thanks again for an amazing day.
Claire Shelley - - #7237
I did the beginners glass blowing with Ricky on the 14 Dec 2016. I felt that the course was great value for money, as there were only two students and so we each got a lot of personal attention from Ricky. He is a great teacher, very patient and explains things very clearly. I look forward to receiving my completed pieces in the mail and I hope to be able to go back and do some more with Ricky in the future. Highly recommended!
Nathalie Mullally - - #7031
I booked the one day course for beginners for my partners birthday. He has always wanted to try glass blowing so he was very excited and this course didn't disappoint. We arrived slightly early to a very welcoming and friendly Ricky. Throughout the day Ricky was very patient and demonstrated his passion for others to succeed in the art of glass blowing. We managed to create 5 beautiful pieces each and would without a doubt recommend this course to anyone wanting to try the art for themselves. We will definitely be back to compete the follow up course as we had such a good day.
Thank you Ricky!

Michael Simpson - - #6738
Brought the course for my husband for his special birthday and then decided I wanted to do it too. Soooo pleased I did. What a fantastic day, Ricky is a funny, patient and skillful artist, who made the day really special.
Who knew we could create such beautiful pieces on our first ever course!
Loraine Harris - - #6705
This was a great course.
Ricky makes you feel really comfortable and ensures that you are involved at all times. Considering it was the first time I have tried glass blowing, I cannot believe we produced the things we did including a sculptural piece and a vase. Having quality photos sent to you of both your work and you producing it is a nice touch. Great value for a full six hours which flew by, a memorable day and one I would recommend to anybody.
Paul T - - #6652
WOW! Such an amazing experience for my first time at glass blowing! Ricky is a fantastic tutor and has an excellent raport with his students!
I was surprised at how many skills and techniques we covered and I managed to make five pieces during the day!
Jamie - - #6650
I booked a short course for my wife and I as a crystal anniversary surprise. Ricky was very accommodating, helping use set up a session that was spot on and a lot of fun. The process was highly practical with clear and engaging tuition as the session went on. The outcomes were delightful and will be a keep sake for many years. A big thank you to Ricky for an experience and opportunity that really was one of a kind. Can't rate him and his work highly enough.
peter holt - - #6493
What a fantastic experience. I took my wife for her 30th birthday as she had wanted to try glass blowing since she was really young. Ricky was a great teacher and took us through the whole process at a good pace. We learned lots of new skills and ended up with four pieces of work each to take away . They will look great in our new home. I would recommend the course to anyone who wants to try something different and to share an experience with someone close to them.
Brian Duffy - - #6326
Ricky made our day such a fantastic memorable experience, and unbelievably we ended up with four pieces each to bring home, I though I'd be lucky to return with a paperweight!! Ricky really does explain everything so clearly and patiently - thank you for making the day something we will remember and treasure for a long time!!
JULIA GREENLEES - - #6077
A thoroughly enjoyable 6-hour course for 2 people - we were fascinated by the whole process and the skills it involves. Ricky instantly made us feel at ease and has a clear passion alongside patience to teach us novices!
We knew nothing about the process to begin with but left at the end feeling inspired.
This course would suit most people and I highly recommend Creative vibe to anyone wanting to give glassblowing a try.
Ian Markham - - #6047

would recommend for any age
Glen Osborn - - #5970
My partner and I had an amazing time glassblowing with Ricky last week! I can't recommend the course highly enough. We were straight into the practical, collecting glass, blowing bubbles and soon adding colour. Ricky was a great teacher and we were able to quickly progress through different techniques. The finished products are so beautiful, we are both very happy with them and would definitely love to do an advanced course asap! Thank you so much for a memorable day.
Luke - - #5897
We had a very enjoyable day learning glassblowing with Ricky. There were just two of us in the class and we learnt a lot in just one day. Ricky's a great teacher and helped us make some lovely pieces to take home. I'd thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who fancies having a go!
Claire Lawrence - - #5845
This was a birthday present for my wife as she had always wanted to try glassblowing, we had a fantastic day, we never imagined we would produce what we did, the pieces of glass are now proudly displayed in our house. Of course we would never have been able to create what we did without Ricky, he guides and imparts his knowledge with an easy and relaxing style. We both enjoyed the day enormously and would thoroughly recommend using Ricky at Creative Vibe, many thanks for a great day.
Andy Wilks - - #5764
The course was a 70th birthday present. The best ever, it was fun, creative and Ricky has an easy relaxed way of imparting his skills. There were only two on the course and we were encouraged to try evermore challenging tasks. 4 pieces each were produced and I have never been prouder of what was achieved.
I recommend this to anyone and everyone

I booked this course for my partner's 60th birthday present and we did it together. Ricky is a fantastic teacher and we learned lots and had a great afternoon. We made 3 objects and can't wait to pick them up. All in all it was great value for money and we would definitely recommend it.

I purchased this course as a birthday present for my 14 year old son. With just two people on the course, it is amazing what is achieved in just 6 hours. Students are able to progress quickly as when they are not making something themselves, they are actively involved in helping the other person which serves to consolidate what they have learnt.
Creative Vibe is based at what can only be described as a delightful setting that is peaceful, relaxing and totally free from any distractions. The course is professionally and safely run by Ricky who teaches in clear and calm manner. His style puts students at ease and they only progress to the next level once each task has been successfully completed.
Overall, a thoroughly interesting and enjoyable experience, for both me (as an observer) and my son, who is now eagerly awaiting the arrival of his creations though the post. These are sent on to you a week or so later should you so choose and are great momentos of the day.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this course.

I had a brilliant day learning how to blow glass, I would recommend this to anyone with any interest in glass, Ricky is a lovely chap, very knowledgeable and good company.

As birthday presents to each other this year, we decided to treat ourselves to an experience we have both always wanted to try, glassblowing. If you have ever fancied a go, this one day course with the fantastic Ricky Keech at Creative Vibe Glassblowing is the place to go. From the moment you arrive Ricky makes you feel welcome, relaxed and ready for the exciting day ahead. Nothing is rushed, Ricky is a calm and patient teacher. Everything is explained step-by-step in such a way as to ensure you feel confident and eager to 'get stuck in'. As your confidence grows throughout the day, guided by Ricky, you even help out with each others glasswork. We loved the fact that it was just the two of us on the course (this was the main reason we chose Creative Vibe). Ricky has emailed us some lovely photos of our finished pieces (we cannot wait to pick them up), along with some 'action shots' of us taken throughout the day. Will this be the only time we visit Creative Vibe Glassblowing? No. Ricky, we will be back. Thanks for an amazing experience.
Sarah Sayers - - #5594
Fantastic day- Ricky is patient, knowledgeable and perceptive ,putting you at ease and picking up on each students tastes, so that your finished pieces feel all the more special.
I always wanted to try glassblowing and would strongly recommend this particular course- the teacher is great, the setting is beautiful and the class size of 2 means you get lots of support and challenge. Left with 4 pieces and have already signed up for another day!

I attended a one day course for beginners. Ricky was wonderful, he had a calm way about him which dispelled any fears or worries. He was thorough and patient, enjoying the process as much as I was...truly passionate about his field of expertise. The class was limited to two people because of safety (which was of up-most importance in his environment) and ability to really focus on the process with time and attention with each student. The environment itself is beautiful and relaxing, surrounded by lovely countryside. The day went so quickly, I was sad to leave and knew one day I would do the next level up. Ricky posted my objects when they had cooled and had kindly assembled them into one glorious piece. I have such a sense of achievement.
Highly recommend you have a go! You'll love the colours and respect the medium of glass.

Spent the most fantastic day on this workshop. Ricky is a great and patient teacher and let's you build up your ability naturally throughout the day. Made some fabulous pieces and they even look professional. Great value and you will definately want to go back for more! Thanks Ricky

We did the one day course for 2 people in April 2016. It was a fantastic day, full on enjoyment. We learnt so much from Ricky and having never worked with glass before, came away with a handful of pieces each. Ricky's patience is exemplary. He took time to explain the why's as well as the how's and demonstrated each step of the process. I can thoroughly recommend this course. We had a superb day.

Glassblowing is something that i've always fancied trying and with a bit of free time on my hands a friend found the course online for me and I was so pleased that she did. It was only a 30 minute drive each way for me but I would have happily made the journey had it been over 3 hours each way the course was that good. Fantastic day!!!
As only 2 people per 6 hour session lots of personal attention from Ricky who is an excellent teacher and made me feel welcome & at ease immediately. The close attention from Ricky allowed us to create an impressive 5 pieces each with the balance between tuition, making your own creations and helping your counterpart [you work in 2's] being perfect.
With Ricky's expertise and patience you will be surprised with the quality of what a complete beginner is able to produce on the day, when I have showed friends, family and colleagues at work the finished products they were all massively impressed. Does make you appreciate the sheer amount of skill needed to master this, especially when working on your own [in my case without a professional].
I can't recommend this experience enough. Thanks Ricky!!!

This was a fantastic day, Ricky was a brilliant teacher and gave the right amount of encouragement and confidence to get on with. Completed far more in 1 day then I thought we would and this was largely due to the class size being 2. This made for a more personal day where you actually got to experience and breath it rather then just visit it.
Very tempted with the follow on course and the peices produced look amazing on the window shelf.
Justin Pyfrom - - #4775
Oh WOW! What a fantastic day! I can't recommend this course highly enough. Ricky is a great teacher - very patient and encouraging. Having never blown glass before, I wasn't expecting to be able to achieve anywhere near what I actually managed and that is all thanks to Ricky. This was one of the best days ever.
Judith Pruce - - #4756
My wife and I had a very enjoyable day.
Luckily Ricky is an extremely patient and friendly instructor and
from the photos we can see that our 'creations' worked out very well.
We would thoroughly recommend the course.
John Wheeler - - #4612
Ricky is an excellent and confident tutor, who explains everything very clearly in relaxed surroundings. With only one other person on the course, the interaction was very personal and friendly. It is a lovely location, even, as on this day, in the pouring rain. It was good to attempt the various techniques, and develop the control needed to make the pieces. There is an intriguing set of specialist tools, and task-specific jargon to match. It was a splendid day, with something unique to show for it at the end: "all my own work " - with lots of help and guidance from Ricky!
This was a Christmas present from my daughter - "for the Dad who has everything" and for whom it is impossible to buy a present. But with this she really hit the target - it was an absolutely brilliant day.
I thoroughly recommend this course: unusual, creative and very satisfying.
David Giachardi - - #4490
I booked the beginner's class for my wife and myself as her birthday present, and it was a fantastic way to spend the day!
I'm definitely not artistic, and was amazed at what I managed to produce after only a day being taught by Ricky. My wife's eye for colour showed in her pieces, and we were able to combine efforts on an final piece in the afternoon.
Ricky gets you straight into the practical side after a safety talk and explanation of the materials, and within the first hour you will have gathered your first glass.
Always ready with help and guidance if things go a little unexpectedly, Ricky quickly gets the measure of your confidence, which builds equally as quickly under his tutelage. We could have kept going well into the evening, but all great things come to an end. I collected the results yesterday, and we are over the moon with them.
Thank you Ricky for a great day, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Creative Vibe for your introduction to glassblowing.
Stephen Eddington - - #4468
What a fantastic day! I'd always wanted to try glass blowing and Ricky provided the best tuition. I couldn't believe that I created 4 different pieces and learnt so many skills. I highly recommend this course.
Harriet - - #4377
Quite simply this is one of the best days out we’ve had! From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed by Ricky and it seemed like only minutes before we were collecting glass from the furnace! Ricky’s training is very personable, one-on-one and paced at just the right speed to keep you working all day! We’re thrilled with the pieces that we made (4 each) and together with the photos they now serve as mementos of our great day! Thank you Ricky!
Mat - - #4325
We had always been fascinated by glass, so thought we would give this day of glass blowing a go. Ricky was welcoming, patient and had a good sense of humour. He showed us many tecniques and encouraged us to use our imagination to be creative. Had such a great day, hope to return later in the year.
Kim Knibbs - - #4305
Just a fantastic day. Ricky was a great teacher, patient and friendly. You end up with several pieces made throughout the day, each building on what you learnt from the previous. I absolutely loved the process, and found it just the right side of challenging. The work we created with Ricky's help was stunning. A bucket list experience, and something I'd love to do again.
Matt - - #4152
We had an amazing day with Ricky, he is a fantastic teacher and great person. We created several pieces with Ricky guiding us through the process, giving his expert advice, we were amazed at what we achieved during the day and really didn't want it to end. We would highly recommend anyone artistic or not to try this course, it is fantastic, thank you Ricky.
Adam and Melissa - - #4042
Spent the day on this excellent course. Ricky is an excellent teacher, explaining all the techniques carefully and constantly providing tips to make sure that the art work was achieved to a high standard. He was very patience with an old person (me) a took time to adjust the techniques that enabled me to produce good work. I can whole heartedly recommend this course. A wonderful day full of interest and skill.
Mike - - #3911
Had a fantastic day, Ricky was a great teacher and allowed me to choose the pieces I wanted to make. He explained some of the different techniques used and how you could get different effects with the colours and bubbles as well as shaping and pulling glass. The class was limited to 2 people which meant that you always had something to do or concentrate on.
I would definitely recommend this course, the location was also great.
Laura Rabin - - #3893
Brilliant day - can't recommend it highly enough. Only two people on the course at one time, so you get lots of time to learn and create some pieces! Ricky is an excellent teacher, patient, approachable and has a good sense of humour making the day really fun.
ladylidders - - #3891
Ricky ran a 1 day workshop with me last week. He was an excellent teacher - friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and able to convey all of the different technical aspects effortlessly. The workshop itself was very well structured -- we tried a lot of different blown glass techniques - colouring, working the material, and so on. We moved quickly through the different process, but I never felt overwhelmed due to the teaching. I was amazed how much we got done in 1 day, and I have a great set of finished pieces at the end. I would definitely recommend this course.
Jeg Dudley - - #3832
We had a wonderful day with Ricky learning the art of glassblowing. We jumped right into it at the beginning of the day and were soon making our own pieces. Ricky is a very kind and patient teacher, clearly explaining every step or providing alternative methods of blowing to ensure you get the most out of the experience. I learned a lot in only one day and would definitely recommend it to others. Glass blowing is an unusual experience and is extremely fun - even for those that are less creative!
Kaitlyn Morris - - #3819
Just received the glass I made on the course through the post - couldn't wait to see it! The course with Ricky was fab - I went on my own a couple of weeks' ago and had great fun. With just two people on the course, it meant we had a lot of support and achieved a lot during the day. Really fascinating and I'd love to do more! The 2 hour drive was really worth it. Great course!
Jan - - #3722
We both had a very enjoyable day learning some glassblowing techniques and making some creative pieces. Ricky is an excellent instructor and gave all the guidance for us to achieve more than we thought possible. We would thoroughly recommend this course.
Paul & Louise - - #3707
Glassblowing is something I had wanted to try for a few years, and the day spent at Creative Vibe certainly didn't disappoint! Ricky was a fantastic teacher, very easy to understand and great at explaining each new step in the process, allowing us to create more and more complex pieces throughout the day. The small class size (more time spent in front of the furnace!) and lovely location helped make this a fantastic day. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
Robin - - #3688
We had a fantastic day out, Ricky is a great teacher, explains well and has a lot of patience. We were able to produce glass ornaments which we can keep forever or even give as Christmas or other gifts. It was great to understand how colours and the glass integrate with each other and the potential there is to go on and do bigger and better things :)
Gill - - #3562
What a BRILLIANT day. I'm not usually one to do reviews but this was too good not to... Ricky is an amazing instructor - made me feel completely calm and confident. He guided me through the 'how to's' and always explained everything we were doing - also explained all sorts of options (if you do this then this could happen, etc). I didn't think I was a very creative person, but after a day with Ricky I wonder if maybe I am - I just haven't known how to get it 'out'!
T Boo - - #3296
I attended this course a few weeks ago. It was a great day - straight into glass working - made a load of different blown glass objects and Ricky posted them through post anneal.
Only 2 people on the course so you get plenty of attention. Got far more than I would have expected in 1 day!
russ - - #3257
An absolutely brilliant experience. Ricky is a very patient person, and his calmness and confidence rubs off on you. Very thorough explanations and demonstrations make you want to do as well as you can so you don't let him down. I cannot wait to go back and try the more advanced techniques. I highly recommend this course. I've just read this back and I make it sound boring... It isn't, it's wonderful, great fun, and you should try it as soon as you can!!!
Christine Harvey - - #3154
I'm not one to review many thing, but I surprised my girlfriend to a day glassblowing course with Ricky and we were both blown away with how good it was. From the moment we arrived, Ricky was welcoming and got us stuck in from the get go. Ricky broke the processes down in a straight forward manner and made the entire experience a joy. We came away with several finished pieces which now sit on our desks/mantle pieces.
The workshop is set in a gorgeous surrounding too, which was the icing on the cake!
I can't recommend this course enough, if you have any creative flare or simply fancy trying something a little different.
Kevin Murden - - #3149
I bought a beginners glass blowing course for my Daughter's 14th Birthday. Ricky is a brilliant teacher with a very calm attitude. My Daughter has made some fantastic pieces and is looking forward to doing another course with Ricky. This course has made a lovely present for my Daughter and I've already recommended it to my friends as it was such a good experience.
Karen - - #3108
Brilliant day! Ricky is an excellent teacher and I loved that us was so hands on. Can't wait to pick up my creations. I would love to do it all again.
Julie smith - - #3101
I am really glad I tried this. Ricky is a very calm but responsive teacher. He has a knack of explaining things so they stick, and because of that I accomplished much more than I expected in a one day. The furnace was already fired up with molten glass ready to go, and the day focused on how to gather glass out of the crucible onto the pipe, control it, add colour, blow it and remove it (very important that bit!). I'd like to carry on to learn more techniques and also the mechanics of the furnace and melting glass.
The studio is in a lovely countryside location but easily driveable from London.
Liz Lawson - - #2968
I had a great day at Creative Vibe. I was a complete beginner and had a lot of fun learning a new skill and about the art of glass blowing. Ricky was patient, a good teacher and a pleasure to meet. Thank you, I will be recommending.
Angelos G - - #2878
A wonderful day!
Ricky showed me around the studio, covered safety and was really good at explaining the processes to me. I was a complete beginner and by the end of the day I have made a wonderful piece of art. I felt very proud.
A great course and really good fun.
Gina Hutchings - - #2802
Amazing day!! I'm not know for my artistic skill but Ricky is wonderful teacher with lots of knowledge, skill and patience! The skills I acquired in just a few hours was incredible and I'm very proud of my final piece! A friendly, easy going fan teacher and a fun day, I definitely have the glass blowing bug now!
