"I booked this course as a birthday present for my daughter. We spent a lovely few hours making our wreaths, and chatting in a very relaxed atmosphere. Elly was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We will definitely return to do another course. "
"I didn't have any knowledge for woodcraft but wanted to make my own spoon.
The class was compact, very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
I enjoyed the whole process from learning about the wood, tools, carving techniques, finishing touch... Found that the manual work was quite soothing, and it's a joy to see the piece of log turning out to be a one-off spoon!
Robert guided us though each step to complete this project. He is talented not only for the wood carving but for teaching, highly recommended."
"A fantastic workshop run by friendly staff & volunteers. We were shown how to start our wreaths with some handy hints and tips for making several different designs and we never felt rushed. Brilliant session and will be looking to book on again next year 🙂 thankyou for a great time and experience. "
"Had a lovely afternoon at the Fresh Wreath making course. Victoria was a great instructor, friendly and very helpful. All of the equipment was supplied and I came away with a beautiful bespoke wreath, feeling very proud of myself. Would definitely try another of Victoria’s craft classes in the future."
The Willow Barn responded:
" Thank you and so glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again."
"We really enjoyed the workshop and each made 3 tree decorations. Yvette was very warm and friendly, demonstration on how to make the items was excellent. She was on hand and ready to help when we needed it and showed us how to finish our pieces professionally. I know it was late in the year and the workshop was very cold, but Yvette did have heaters going. Tea, coffee and treats were also provided. I am sure it would be even more fun in warmer weather."
"I had a great day on this course. Jake was really good at teaching, and with it being a one-to-one course, he was always at hand to make sure you did things safely and didn’t ruin your work. Using the lathe was great fun and a great experience. A bonus was that I had a beautiful bowl at the end of the day which was far more professional than I had ever imagined I would be able to achieve. If you are thinking about doing this course, I would say go for it! "
Thompsons Wood responded:
" Thank you kindly, lovely words mate, thank you "
"Attended this work shop with my two daughters.
It was a lovely creative experience, challenging with so much choice of materials and first class guidance from Melanie. I have a photo but don’t know how to post on here. Thanks for a wonderful day, would definitely recommend!"
"This workshop was so fun. Melanie was very patient and helped us all throughout. It was great to learn a new technique and we all came away with a beautiful bauble. Would highly recommend this course! "
" Thank you so much Chelsea. You all made such unique baubles… and managed to do so perfectly! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.x"
"This was a fantastic day. Everyone left with a lovely hare sculpture and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Jo was a great teacher. Every stage was enjoyable and surprisingly messy fun! Highly recommend "
"Had amazing experience, Cathy was so welcoming and loves leather. Choosing colours and cutting the leather was great and Cathy's expert help any time was so helpful. Cathy never took over, she just showed 'how' and gave all the encouragement needed. Had the best day. Thank you Cath."
"This course was so inclusive to those who have and haven't created any stained glass pieces before, with Kate helping everyone as much as needed at every stage. I left being so excited to join another course and I couldn't stop telling people about how fun it was especially leaving with multiple pieces I created. I've recommended this to so many people and if you're reading this, I'd suggest you join up. Everyone was so lovely, even though I joined the class by myself I felt so welcome. Thank you, Kate!"
Martin McAssey Glass responded:
" Thank you for the lovely review, I'm so glad you enjoyed the course."
"A fantastic tutor in all things mosaic, Frances has a wealth of knowledge & years of experience. I did a days course making a stepping stone, she was so patient and full of tips and advice. Already started another project and will attend Frances’s workshop on a monthly basis. Highly recommend."
"Really useful course. Lots of information and help from Scott. Also loads of practical exercises which really helped in planning electric systems
Small group of 6 so very participative. Shows lots of great ideas to do things well without spending loads of money.
Cakes great too!!! "
Black Paw upcycle project responded:
" Hi Alison.
I'm so happy you enjoyed the course and found it useful
"I really enjoyed this course. Almut's instruction and guidance were excellent and she was very patient with me as I got to grips with the basics of wood carving. She was very encouraging and she kindly shared her knowledge, skills and expertise with me. I was able to work at my own pace and with Almut's timely input and suggestions, I was able to create a carving that I was really pleased with. It was a truly wonderful day, thank you for a great experience Almut."
"I had the honour of being Mark's first 'student' in Westward Ho! He did a demo to show me the whole process of turning a block of wood into a beautiful wooden bowl. I put a picture on my FB page and had 109 likes and 35 positive comments. However, words cannot describe the feeling of handling the bowl. It is so smooth and almost talks to me! Cannot recommend this course enough. Would make an excellent Christmas present to the person who has everything. "
The Gentleman Woodturner responded:
" Thank you Peggy for this lovely review. It was a pleasure to instruct you. And you produced a beautiful bowl. "
"Wood turning was something I had wanted to do for years and I finally got the opportunity in November. I have to say that I was nervous not knowing what to expect from the day but from the moment I got there Les put me at my ease and I had the best day ever. Les has so much knowledge and skill and patiently answered my many questions, he was an excellent teacher explaining everything in a way I understood and I managed to produce a piece that I will always be proud of.
Thank you Les for a truly memorable experience."
" Hello Jan and thank you so much for your review. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your day, you were fun to work with.
"This course is great! I'd never done felting before but Erika's expertise and a wide range of materials provided ( at no additional cost....which is always a personal bug bear) meant that I left with a great piece of felting I'll actually be proud to use! Huge thanks Erika, I'm off to rebook!"
"This is an excellent course full of really useful information and practical advice plus opportunities to do practical work and gain confidence handling tools. Jo is a great trainer and the small groups are ideal and very relaxed. Would highly recommend, well worth the investment. "
The Boho Shed responded:
" I'm so pleased you got so much out of the course Caroline. Thank you for your lovely review. You were a pleasure to teach. Jo x"
I really enjoyed this course and Kelly was an excellent tutor. However, we were short of time in the afternoon so I felt the stitching process was rushed (for me, anyway) and I came away feeling a bit confused. We could have done with at least an extra hour to the published time. If we had had more time for the stitching and perhaps a handout with illustrations of the process stages I think I would have come away feeling more confident I could do it again. As it was I felt it was all easy to start with and then the bit that was the most complicated went in a blur. That was a shame as that was the bit I had most wanted to learn."
