About the Course
In this one day (6 hour) course you will learn the basics of glass fusing. You can expect to make a main piece approximately 20cm x 20cm plus an extra smaller piece of your choice. Some people prefer to make a number of smaller pieces rather than one large piece...the choice is up to you!
Based in a lovely rural setting just outside Reading, I run small workshops with a maximum of 4 people which means you will receive lots of individual tuition. No previous experience is necessary for you to be able to achieve great results!
I graduated from Brunel university with a first class honours degree and am a practicing glass artist selling and exhibiting my work in galleries, I've also worked in the art department of a busy secondary school so i've plenty of experience in both the Arts and educational field. Classes are adapted to suit individuals and there is plenty of scope for individuality ...so you can arrive with your own ideas or alternatively I have projects already set up for those who would prefer to work that way.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All glass, metal foils, frits etc are included. Tea, coffee, biscuits and light refreshments are provided. Participants will need to bring a packed lunch.
I had a great day! Nicky was excellent at explaining and motivating. I am really pleased with the coasters and angel I made. It has given me confidence to try other things. It was good to achieve so much in one day. I would definitely recommend having a go!

A very enjoyable workshop. Nicky explained clearly how to create the fused glass pieces. She gave us guidance on shapes, colours and materials to use. As a small group we had tutuion when needed and the day past quickly. Couldn't wait to see the fired pieces. I am now the proud owner of a two lovely piece of fused glass created by me!

I really enjoyed this workshop, the day flew as I was so absorbed in my piece. Nicky is a great teacher, very relaxed and on hand when you need help. She is very friendly and welcoming and the workshop is well equipped with lots of pretty glass to choose from.
I couldn't believe what I achieved in one day and am already planning another day,
Thank you Nicky.

I love Nicky's workshops. She offers just the right amount of guidance and instruction, allowing you to be as creative as you want, offering tips here and there but always allowing the participant to do what they want. I would thoroughly recommend this workshop to anyone wanting to explore glass fusion. I'm already looking forward to booking my third session!

Never attempted anything like this before but was so amazed at what I'd achieved. Nicky is so knowledgeable and patient.
It's a small group so you get individual guidance which enabled me to create a beautiful piece of glass art which now has pride of place in my home.
The best day ever!!
Can't wait to go again

Thoroughly enjoyable day, I would really recommend it.
Really pleased with what I was able to achieve with Nicky's guidance and support , despite my not having had any experience of glass cutting before. The small group size allows for plenty of individual help and assistance, hence good progress being made and allowing us to try different skills/techniques and use different types of glass.

I have been to three of these workshops and have loved every one. The time just flies by as you are so absorbed putting together your creation. Nicky is very patient and helpful with lots of design ideas from simple to more complicated as you progress. We have also made some wonderful Christmas glass decorations, stars, angels and snowflakes which look fantastic hanging on the tree. I would thoroughly recommend anyone trying out this fascinating hobby and can't wait for my next visit.
