Fused glass day course - beginners/intermediate

Description

In this one day (6 hour) course you will learn the basics of glass fusing. Included with this class is 500sqcm of glass (equivalent to 5 coaster size pieces). You can buy more glass on the day if you wish but most people find this is enough for the session. There are lots of choices as to what you can make including free standing waves, tea light holders, dishes, sun catchers, etc. Some people prefer to make a number of smaller pieces rather than one large piece...the choice is up to you! Based in a lovely semi rural setting just outside Reading, I run very small bespoke workshops with a maximum of 4 people which means you will receive lots of individual tuition. No previous experience is necessary for you to be able to achieve great results! I graduated from High Wycombe college (under the umbrella of Brunel university at the time, now Buckinghamshire New University) with a first class honours degree, after which, I exhibited and sold my work through various galleries including 'Decorative Arts Today' at Bonhams, London and Cecilia Coleman gallery, London. I am still a practicing glass artist selling my designs and bespoke commissions on a regular basis. I've also worked in the art department of a busy secondary school so I've plenty of experience in both the arts and educational fields. Classes are adapted to suit each person and there is plenty of scope for individuality, so you can arrive with your own ideas or alternatively I have projects already set up for those who would prefer to work that way.

What's included in the price?

Glass, metal inclusions, foils, frits and firing are included. More glass over the amount included in the price of your course will be available to purchase on the day. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits are provided throughout your session. Participants will need to bring their own packed lunch.
