Half day glass fusing for beginners/intermediate
Description
In this half day (3 hour) course you will learn the basics of glass fusing. You can expect to make two coasters size pieces 10cm x 10cm...or 4 small decorations, a small lantern (extra £5), or a tealight holder, etc...alternatively you may have one single idea you may like to make (size limit is approx 15x15 or 17cm x 12cm for wall hangings/decorations). More glass is available to buy if you wish to make larger pieces...the choice is up to you! Based in a lovely semi rural setting just outside Theale, Reading, I run very small bespoke workshops with a maximum of 4 people which means you will receive lots of individual tuition. No previous experience is necessary for you to be able to achieve great results! I graduated from High Wycombe college (under the umbrella of Brunel university at the time) with a first class honours degree. After which I exhibited and sold my work through various galleries including 'Decorative Arts Today' at Bonhams, London and Cecilia Coleman gallery, London. I am still a practicing glass artist selling my designs and bespoke commissions on a regular basis. I've also worked in the art department of a busy secondary school so I've plenty of experience in both the Arts and educational fields. Classes are adapted to suit each person and there is plenty of scope for individuality...so you can arrive with your own ideas or alternatively I have projects already set up for those who would prefer to work that way.
What's included in the price?
Glass, metal inclusions, foils, frits and firing are included. More glass over the amount included in the price of your course will be available to purchase on the day. Tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits are provided throughout your session. Work can be collected or posted (at an extra cost £10-£15) usually within 2 weeks.
