About the Course
In this half day (3 hour) course you will learn the basics of glass fusing. You can expect to make two coasters size pieces 10cm x 10cm..alternatively you may have an idea you may like to try and make (size limit is approx 15x15 or 17cm x 12cm for wall hangings/decorations etc ..the choice is up to you!
Based in a lovely rural setting just outside Reading, I run small workshops with a maximum of 4 people which means you will receive lots of individual tuition. No previous experience is necessary for you to be able to achieve great results!
I graduated from Brunel university with a first class honours degree and am a practicing glass artist selling and exhibiting my work in galleries, I've also worked in the art department of a busy secondary school so I've plenty of experience in both the Arts and educational field. Classes are adapted to suit individuals and there is plenty of scope for individuality ...so you can arrive with your own ideas or alternatively I have projects already set up for those who would prefer to work that way.

I went with my daughter for a half day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was friendly and relaxed with plenty of suggestions of things to try. Nicky certainly knows her stuff and is very patient and approachable with any questions. Really recommend the course and we will certainly go again.

What a fantastic way to spend a morning or afternoon!
Nicky is excellent, patiently teaching us all the techniques required and giving useful suggestions on the artistic front.
We've been to see Nicky twice now, firstly creating scenes based on holiday photos and then again to produce a variety of Christmas decorations. We, along with family & friends, were delighted with the results.
You can go along with an idea of what you want to create but Nicky also has a really good suggestions box and will help you develop any idea into something that can be created in glass.
We would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone!

A fantastic half day with Nicky!
Came with three friends as a birthday celebration. Nicky taught us all about the different glasses, how to achieve different styles, taught us different glass cutting techniques and helped turn an ambitious vision of mine into a reality. Fantastic day with refreshments and a teacher who really knows her stuff. Highly recommended and would definitely come back again!
