Come and enjoy a one day Introduction to Glass Fusing in the lovely North Cornish village of Kilkhamton, 5 miles from Bude. The fused glass workshops are run in our lovely, spacious studio.
The methods you will learn include kiln carving- using fibre paper to create a design for a clear glass cheese/food plate or hanging for your first project, then exploring the use of frit (ground pieces of coloured glass- think caster, granulated and "posh" coffee sugar sizes!) stringers (thin strands of glass) and the gorgeous range of coloured fusing glass for your second project.
You will be taught how to cut glass, with plenty of practice ready for the afternoon’s project where you can make a design of your choice.
You can decide to you make an 'S' shape free standing piece or a square 'tile' which can then be framed.
If you chose a free standing design, your glass piece will undergo two firings, one to fuse it, then a further firing to slump it onto an “S” shaped curved mould to allow it to stand on completion.
If you chose to make a piece of artwork to frame we have reasonably priced 'limed oak' white box frames in stock in the studio.
All your creations will be ready for collection in a few days or they can be posted to you if you are unable to collect with an additional charge to cover post and packing.
We welcome the naturally creative and those who might need a bit more inspiration-we have designs and ideas aplenty! You just need to bring your enthusiasm, closed in shoes and be prepared for a glassy adventure!
If there is any change in the Government guidelines at any time in 2022 then these dates may have to be revised, but please rest assured, that your health and wellbeing are a top priority and the measures we have put in place for workshops to resume have been well thought out to minimise any risk.
We want to ensure that your day spent here at Tregarth Studio is as stress and risk free as possible so each student will be asked to perform a Covid test on the morning of the course. We want the day to be all about the fascinating world of glass fusing, for you to lose yourself in the creative process and enjoy the lunch too!
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
On arrival you will be welcomed with delicious homemade biscuits and refreshments, and later a delightful locally sourced two course lunch made by our resident cordon bleu chef! Some people said 'it was worth coming for the lunch alone!'
As well as the lunch and day's experience all materials, kiln firings, safety equipment and course booklet are included in the price.
After your days experience you will have made;
A clear kilncarved food/cheese platter or hanging.
And a free standing fused glass artwork or a 'tile' that can be framed after firing with a reasonably priced 'limed oak' white square box frame that we have in stock in the studio, or you can chose to frame it yourself.
If you are a group of friends or family and can't find a listed date that suits you please get in touch as we may be able to run another workshop on a more convenient date for you.
1 day (9:30am to 4:30pm)

Having done a couple of courses previously I both enjoyed and appreciated the time Amanda spent on going through some of the theory and techniques and the emphasis throughout on safety. Lots of very useful practical advice. Kiln carving was new to me and the finished results our group produced were I think excellent and don’t look like a first attempt by beginners, thanks to Amanda’s excellent support and guidance!
I thoroughly enjoyed the day and felt quite tired at the end from concentrating so hard!
There's a lot to learn and you can choose to do something straightforward, with sort-of guaranteed success, or if you are a bit bolder you can try something harder and Amanda will help and advise; she is very patient and supportive of your attempts.
Lunch was very good indeed, as were flapjack and coffee!
Thanks to Amanda for a stimulating day, encouraging our creative inclinations.
A full on day, packed from start to finish with expert help and advice from Amanda. Lunch was an added bonus and much needed after a busy morning.
Good to see Amanda adhering to full health and safety measures throughout.
Response from Pink House Glass:
So glad you enjoyed your day Alyson :) You all made some lovely things. As for the H&S, it is often over looked but so important, safe and happy students is my goal, I guard the safety of my students as seriously as I guard my flapjack recipe! AxI would highly recommend booking this workshop, Amanda is an excellent tutor. Very empowering and patient. Also a very good cook.
Absolutely loved it! Amanda was brilliant, explained everything so well and made it a fantastic experience.
I came away with two pieces that I am so pleased and chuffed to have made! I will be going back to do another session with Amanda.
Lunch was fabulous too!!
Highly recommend x
Response from Pink House Glass:
Thank you for your lovely review Katrina, you should be justifiably chuffed with your gorgeous pieces! I look forwards to seeing you again and sharing some new glassy adventures and being part of your fused glass journey :) Amanda xThis course was a birthday present from my husband and I was a bit unsure and nervous about attending because of my beginners abilities. But I needn't have worried as this was an excellent course with an amazing, friendly and very patient tutor.
The course was held in the Tregarth studio which was very spacious and comfortable to work in with excellent facilities. I liked the separate social area to ensure drinking & eating was not near glass cutting area. Health & Safety issues were taken very seriously by Amanda. All glass, tools etc were provided including an excellent lunch (I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed Eton Mess - very yummy)
I was looked after very well by Amanda and it was a joy to spend time discussing projects and the samples, I brought down with me. This was a purely selfish day, as I was on a one to one course, but I learnt so much. Within15 minutes Amanda had sorted out my problem with cutting glass and then when on to improve my fusing techniques, use of different tools and glass.
I was encouraged to be creative and to change my mind set for a more positive outlook - "there are no disasters in glass fusing just learning pieces". I now document all my work and learn from them and improve.
The whole day when too quickly and my overriding feeling is that I spent most of the day laughing and having fun. Learning is not a hardship when a course is this enjoyable.
It was a wrench to leave but I left with an amazing floral fused glass piece that I still cannot believe I made.
Thank you Amanda for a brilliant day and encouraging me to progress on my journey.
I would recommend Amanda's course to anyone interested in Glass fusing.
Response from Pink House Glass:
Thank you for your lovely review Barbara. It was great to be part of your fused glass journey and I am absolutely sure with your enthusiasm, commitment and detailing your processes, you are set for some exciting and successful outcomes. There are no mistakes, just learning and design opportunities! My family gave me vouchers for my birthday for a second visit as I loved it so much the first time round. Second time was even better..Amanda is an amazing teacher..encouraging, fun, pushes you just enough, understanding and focuses with each students individuality. My friend and I had the best day. We felt as safe as possible during these wonky times and of course the food was fabulous..again.
Response from Pink House Glass:
Thank you Rachel, so pleased to hear you enjoyed your second visit, I had such a lovely day with you too, you both produced some gorgeous pieces!Had another fantastic day with Amanda - this was my second visit, and just as fun and satisfying as the first. Amanda is a great teacher, always on hand to help and encourage, whatever your level of experience or artistic ability. Her delicious food just adds an extra element of enjoyment to the whole day. Highly recommended!
What a fabulous day. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and offered tea/coffee and homemade cake. Amanda was so friendly and explained how the day would run and what we would make. Always on hand for advice, to enthuse and encourage, Amanda allowed us to let our creative juices flow. A delicious homemade lunch was devoured after making our first piece amid much excitement as we swapped ideas. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in having a go. It was just such an enjoyable day and I have two pieces of glass to display. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Had a really excellent day with Amanda, she is a great tutor who puts you at ease and helps make your imagination into reality. I am so pleased with my platter made by kiln carving and my fused glass piece is just how I wanted it to look. I will doing more days with Amanda as my head is full of other designs I would like to make and to have more superb lunches!
My husband bought me a one to one glass fusing day with Amanda for my big birthday last month. Amanda was fantastic right from the moment he emailed her, responding quickly to emails and offering excellent advice. A date was soon set for my experience with no fuss whatsoever.
On the day Amanda immediately put me at ease as I was initially a little bit nervous and wasn't at all sure if I'd be able to translate what was in my mind into a piece of glass artwork. We talked my ideas through and agreed what was possible and lots of help and advice was offered. Soon we had a plan! The process of cutting, practicing and arranging was soon underway and by the end of the day my artwork was ready for the kiln.
A day with Amanda is highly recommended, and was such a fantastic birthday present. I came away feeling proud of what I'd achieved, having never done anything like it before in my life.
Thank you Amanda for such a great experience!
My husband brought me this day as a birthday present and I consider it one of the best presents I have ever received. From the moment I arrived Amanda made me feel welcome and at ease. Luckily there were only 2 of us on the course, so we had her undivided attention all day.
Not only was it informative but also incredible fun and at the end if it, I have 2 lovely (even though I say so myself) glass keepsakes, which are proudly displayed for everyone to see. I cannot recommend this course highly enough to anyone and I will definitely be going back. As a side note, the food that Amanda prepared for us was sublime.
Thank you once again Amanda.
In August, my best friend and I were gifted this course for our Christmas present. One thing I can say is it was one of the best gifts I could have asked for.
I got to make everlasting memories, create beautiful glass work and enjoy delicious food thanks to Amanda (Pink House Glass)!
Amanda made us both feel welcome as soon as she saw us walk towards the studio. With a witty and bubbly personality, and a very patient nature, she helped us see how much fun you can have with glass fusing.
Half way through the day I truly thought ‘how could this get any better?’. Then we found out Amanda had made the extremely tasty banquet for lunch. The dishes were heaven on a plate and we weren’t left hungry.
If you see this, Amanda, thank you for making us feel so welcome! It was an experience both of us will treasure for a long long time.
We hope to be back again and learn more!
I had looked forward to my glass day for months and it was no disappointment. Amanda was an excellent teacher, but more than that, with the two other students on my day, she made it such a special time. We learnt a lot, laughed a lot, ate a lot of delicious homemade food and I really want to book another day as soon as I can... a lot!! The two projects were perfect for many levels of ability and there were so many resources and materials to help us in her enviable studio. It was a fantastic day.
What an amazing course! Amanda's studio is bright and airy with everything you need.
We were welcomed with coffee and home made biscuits (delicious!), before Amanda set about telling us the origins of her glass and the different techniques which could be used. At this early stage my mind went totally blank and, not being very creative (or so I thought), I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to make. However, with Amanda's guidance, patience and enthusiasm I created two amazing pieces which I'm absolutely thrilled with. My husband and sister-in-law also attended the course with me and had brilliant results.
The lunch was delicious and I discovered that I do like creme brûlée after all - but only Amanda's!
We're looking forward to attending more classes very soon!!
Chris
I had a wonderful day at Pink House Glass. This was an amazing course and through Amanda's excellent tuition and guidance I came away with two beautiful pieces of glass art which I enjoy every day. I wish I could have stayed in her studio creating fused glass art all weekend.
I'm looking forward to an intermediate course with Amanda to further develop the skills learnt with her on this day - and those delicious lunches will always be an added bonus!
I can't recommend this course highly enough.
I went on this course with my sister as part of her birthday present. What an amazingly lovely day we had. Amanda, who runs the course is simply lovely. We came away with lots of knowledge, 2 amazing pieces each, very full tummies (as Amanda also happens to be an amazing cook!) and a huge desire to do more and more glass work. Thank you very much. Highly recommended and great value😊
A really good value course taught in a relaxed way. Great lunch and hospitality from Amanda. I really liked having two very different items to take away - the board/plate is really useful as well being beautiful. Really enjoyed the whole experience and would happily do the course again.
My second time on this course and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time!
Great tuition, resources, advice and, of course, lunch!
I can thoroughly recommend this course.
Brilliant day and learnt so much, from basic health and safety to cutting glass and learning 2 different ways of creating a piece of artwork. In my case I created 2 wall hangings, but the options are varied. Amanda is a fantastic, teacher and explains everything as you go along and there is plenty of time to put what you learn into action. I was really pleased with the 2 pieces I took home
Lunch was great and all dietary requirements are catered for.
The workshop makes a great day out with friends or is ideal as a gift voucher and I will certainly return again early next year, to learn more.
An excellent day out for 4 good friends looking for something new exciting and different, with very little or no experience or expectations beforehand.
We each have very different artistic viewpoints and this was reflected in the variety of work we produced - all very different an interesting. Amanda was an excellent tutor who took us carefully through each of 2 processes we learnt and gave us plenty of ideas and inspiration into what to attempt. She showed many examples of what was possible and of past student's work. (perhaps a little too much choice here - it is possibly best to go with a few ideas).
Good attention to health and safety, and very tasty homemade refreshments and lunch.
Looking forward to an intermediate course please Amanda
Amanda is a very patient and encouraging tutor who takes you carefully through the techniques required to produce two beautiful pieces of glass using two different techniques. A lack of artistic flare is no barrier to working in this medium and confidence comes easily. I would highly recommend this course and this tutor. Lunch being provided (homemade and delicious) make this a course to really remember and an ideal gift for a special birthday.
This was an amazing course. I went with no ideas about what it would be like, or what I wanted to make or how my lack of creativity would impact on the finished product. Amanda was amazing, very welcoming, friendly and encouraging. I cam away having made two beautiful pieces that I shall treasure, but the memories from the day will always stay with me.
I cannot recommend this course highly enough! Amanda is a fantastic teacher and gets the perfect balance between allowing your own creativity (with plenty of sources of inspiration and resources for those who feel they are 'not artistic') and providing expert support for realising your ideas in glass. She also takes safety seriously, but this is done in a gentle way which does not inhibit the process.
The food provided is also stunning (in a previous career she was a chef, it turns out!) and I really enjoyed the company of fellow students (and watching their own creations being made) and Amanda, who clearly had an infectious knowledge and enthusiasm for her art.
Have no hesitation in booking on this course - you will be delighted with the day and the outcome of your efforts! I am already looking forwards to planning my next course there.
What an amazing day we had at the Pink Glass House Studio !
Amanda was a delight to have as our teacher, her enthusiasm for her craft is infectious.
She immediately put us all at ease as complete novices and explained how the day would pan out whilst keeping us safe to boot!
We had great fun creating from scratch our Cheese boards and working through the process.
We then stopped for what can only be described as amazing lunch, Amanda is a truly fantastic cook with lovely sweet treats to tempt us.
We then began our coloured creations scoring and cutting as we went, mixing all manner of coloured glass. This has been a truly wonderful day and I am absolutely delighted with my creations I never expected to come a way with two such lovely pieces.
Thankyou Amanda for the experience I look forward to returning very soon.
What an amazing day I had with Amanda and a few novices like myself. Within minutes of arriving, I felt like I had known Amanda for years, she explained everything from techniques and ideas to the safety aspect of working with glass. After a full mornings worth of designing and finishing my cheeseboard, I was served the most amazing lunch ever... I still think of that lunch 8 months on! I had my delights posted to me and they have pride and place in my kitchen where I look at them everyday reminding me of the wonderful day that I had with Amanda. Thank you so much Amanda...keep up your amazing talent both in glass and lunches!
This is a wonderful workshop.
Amanda puts you at ease immediately with her warm welcome and delicious goodies.
She exudes a passion and enthusiasm for her craft which is infectious.
Her joyfully mischievous sense of humour generates a lovely atmosphere.
Through her thoughtful well planned teaching methods she enables you to be well informed, safe and creative; resulting in the accomplishment of finished pieces. I was happily amazed. On top of this you have a scrumptious lunch. All of which makes you want to return asap!
My husband and I had a wonderful day. We both had different previous experience of glass fusing and ideas of what we wanted to create - Amanda was able to tailor the experience for each of us so that we could produce beautiful creations to take away.
Amanda is an outstanding host and teacher, providing fantastic home cooked food and refreshments. She takes time to understand how we learn to be able to get the most out of the day.
Thank you!
Fabulous Day!
Amanda is an amazing teacher instilling confidence and creativity.
Beautiful pieces of glass produced to take home.
Unbelievable and delightful experience.
Laughter throughout the day.
Overwhelmed with what I managed to achieve with Amanda's guidance.
Unquestionably a marvellous workshop which I highly recommend.
Superb and delicious homemade biscuits and lunch.
Smashing , super, inspiring,
What more can I say.
Oh educational, infomative, productive,
A fantastic day.
Lots of fun a warm welcome
Thank you for helping me to produce two lovely pieces of work
I can’t wait to see you again.
Beth.
Excellent well thought out course from start to finish!
There is a warm welcome as you step foot into the studio with coffee and biscuits and immerse yourself in glass fusion world for the day!
Learnt so much about glass health and safety along with a variety of techniques through Amanda’s tuition.
Amanda is able to translate your own ideas or able to give helpful suggestions for the glass pieces you make.
All in all you go home having been well fed through the day, have the satisfaction of beginning to master new skills and two beautiful creations!
Thoroughly recommend.
A fantastic day learning to fuse glass. Amanda is a great teacher and we were well looked after all day. I was amazed at the pieces of art we all managed to create under her guidance.
I came to do this course for my friends 60th birthday treat. It was fantastic !!!
Coffee and cake on arrival, and a fantastic homemade lunch.
Amanda was very welcoming, had a brilliant sense of humour and was a fantastic teacher, everything was explained very clearly and the written accompanying notes were very comprehensive.
I have just seen my two pieces that I made for the first time today after firing and am VERY pleased.
The course was very good value for money so much so that lorraine and I each have some friends that are planning to do this course after our recommendation!!!
Thankyou Amanda for a fantastic day !!!
What a great way to spend a wet Saturday in February! Amanda's craft room is inspirational. Expert tuition from a very encouraging teacher. I really felt I'd learnt a lot in just one day.
Wonderful homemade lunch, too! I'd fully recommend this workshop to all ages & abilities...Amanda makes everyone feel very special.
Hopefully, I'll be able to return to learn more.
My wife and I had a lovely day with Amanda, the course, the food and the conversation were all quite wonderful. My 2 end products exceeded my limited artistic capability's expectations and the production process was both a great learning experience as well as good fun. We were recommended to the course by our son and his fiancé who had thoroughly enjoyed the same course just recently. As such we knew what to expect content-wise so were able to have had some creative thoughts before arrival. Amanda was very supportive in helping us translate these ideas into our finished pieces, and a pretty good match they were too. Great day all round, would absolutely recommend to anyone, no matter whether they think they are artistic or not.
Had a fantastic day and made two very different glass creations which have been admired by all who see them. It was a long day but the whole experence took place in a very relaxed atmosphere. Amanda was very helpful and gave excellent advise and had a selection of examples to help the creative juives flow. Lunch was delicious and added a welcome chance to refuel and chat. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who wants to have a go at glass fusing as you will have a great day and create something unique and beautiful.
Thoroughly enjoyable and completely absorbing day. Can't wait to do more. Amanda was very welcoming and guided us clearly and competently at the same time as being stimulating and entertaining company. Great range of materials and possibilities. Thoughtful attention to detail and presentation, from the studio right through the delicious lunch and finally to the packaging of the finished work.
I had a wonderful day at Pink House Glass for this workshop. Amanda is an excellent teacher. She is enthusiastic, inspirational and encouraging and also provides very clear instruction. She is also a great cook. I have yet to see the results of my first efforts, but however it turns out, I feel I will have learned quite a lot. Thank you Amanda.
Wow, what a truly wonderful day. Amanda could not have been more welcoming, knowledgable and fun. I learnt so much and this was because of Amanda's relaxed and helpful manner and the inspirational surroundings. I attended the course with my husband and eleven year old son and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, it was a lovely day to spend as a family.
We are very proud of our glass creations and delighted with what we achieved.
The food was AMAZING too!!
I simply can not recommend this course highly enough.
I bought this creative experience day as a birthday present for my daughter. We had an absolutely fabulous day with Amanda who ran the course. She was extremely welcoming, friendly, kind and humorous and made us feel at ease as soon as we walked through the door. We were joined by Vicky who also signed up for the course and we all got on together really well. Amanda guided us through the day and was extremely helpful, encouraging and supportive of all of our creative ideas and efforts and she encouraged us to use our imagination. This was a first class course and I would recommend it to anyone who would like to try out their creative skills using glass. I learnt so much more than I thought I would throughout the day and I would like to take this hobby further in the future. As well as all of this Amanda supplied a first class lunch that I would have gladly paid for in a restaurant. All in all the day was absolutely brilliant and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in working with glass. It doesn't matter if you think you are creative or not. Just go for it and you will surprise yourself. Thanks Amanda the day was absolutely fantastic! Denise
An absolutely fantastic day! Amanda was knowlegeable, excited, friendly and hilarious! She welcomed us into her lovely studio and shared her expertise and enthusiasm! I attended the workshop with my mum who ( having no prior experience in the techniques used) is now looking into taking up the craft at home! In a group of three (all at different levels of confidence and experience) Amanda balanced her time and energy beautifully to ensure we all achieved our desired designs, leaving all of us feeling very proud of what we achieved! And to top all of the wonderful artistic endevours, she is a top notch chef! Serving the most wonderful hot lunch with dessert, and greeting us with tea and homebaked biscuits! What more could you want! A truly wonderful day and experience, leaving us not only with wonderful memories but beautiful souvenirs that we can boast we made ourselves!! If I could I woukd give 6 stars!!!
Our beautiful pieces of fused glass arrived today following our really enjoyable day in the glass workshop, it was like Christmas unwrapping them.
My 15 year old daughter and I made very different pieces that reflect our personalities; we were privileged to be the only students that day so we had Amanda's undivided knowledge. The workshop really lived up to the reviews (lunch included) and was well worth the 3 hour round trip to Cornwall. Thank you for such an enjoyable day.
This course is awesome! I had the most amazing day. Amanda is a fantastic teacher and is really good at giving you the confidence to have a go. I am so inspired by all the things that I learnt. The lunch was delicious as well. Can't recommend this enough!!
I was given a Craft Courses voucher for Christmas and chose this course immediately even though I had to wait until the summer for time to go on it. I am so glad that I did because it is absolutely brilliant! Not only is Amanda a delight to know but she is also generous with her expertise which enabled a complete novice to make two fabulous items.....a glass platter with boxing hares as the pattern and a landscape of Luskentyre on Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Amanda taught me how to cut the glass, use a water cooled grinder to refine rough edges, lots of design advice and knowledge of the annealing process and kilns.
The finished articles are stunning and I can't recommend this course enough. Add to that a wonderful lunch and you have the perfect way to spend a day!
I really enjoyed my day at Tregarth with Amanda and the other ladies in my class, Amanda is a really interesting lady and very patient with all us beginners. I am really pleased with my cheese platter and and stand up glass piece, lunch was delicious and the whole day was fun, it was also very interesting to learn all about the different methods of cutting the glass, ( I was not very good at this) but Amanda was very helpful and I can't wait to go for another session of making glass pictures or whatever Amanda thinks up for a second round of glass fusion (my family all want cheese platters now). I highly recommend this course.
My husband bought this day course for my birthday present and it was brilliant. I don't have an artistic bone in my body nor any imagination on creating, I always use patterns or copy other works. Amanda proved to me that I can be creative and gave me the confidence to produce unique and beautifully Cornish scenescapes that were all my own work! The studios is well equipped and Amanda takes time to explain how everything works, safety is also paramount. Lunch was fabulous and conversation continuous! The course was great value for money and I brought away two beautiful pieces of glass ware that were all my own work, with masses of help from Amanda!!
I had the best time on this course and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try glass fusing! I bought the workshop as a gift for my mum and we had such a laugh. I researched glass courses in Cornwall around the Bude area and this looked like the best one, the studio was massive and the lunch was amazing with the YUMMIEST chocolate brownies! Amanda made us feel at home right away, and she allowed you to feel confident and stepped in whenever we needed help. When we received our glass makes in the post, all beautifully wrapped, we were amazed at how professional our work looked. Im so proud of my cheese platter! Now Im thinking of coming for my Hen Party next year! ..Thank you Amanda!
A very enjoyable day where I learned some good basics from being an absolute beginner, and also quickly ascertained where my interests and strengths and weaknesses would lie (very important IMO). Amanda is friendly and encouraging, the venue is really neat and lunch excellent. I was delighted and more impressed than I was expecting with the finished product that was sent on to me extremely quickly. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to dip their toe in the waters of the glass-fusing world.
A wonderful start to 2016, being creative and attending a day course in Amanda workshop. We created some beautiful things, and learnt much about her particular style of glass creating. It was like being in Aladdin's cave, with so many beautiful materials to choose from to make something very individual. As well as being helpful and supportive, Amanda also makes it fun and very convivial. And the lunch....... wow. Thanks for a great day.
This was a brilliant course. Amanda was so friendly and welcoming and put me at my ease immediately. The background information that she gave us about the different types of glass was really interesting and the course information was very comprehensive. She has a super garden studio and everything was provided for us to "have a go". She was a very patient and encouraging tutor. It was exciting to collect my pieces a couple of weeks later. The coffee and cookies at the start of the course and the 2 course lunch were delicious too. I would thoroughly recommend this course and am looking forward to the Christmas decoration one.
Spent the day with the lovely Amanda. I learned so much in such a short space of time. Excellent explanations, demos and comprehensive notes. I couldn't believe the range of glass available and plenty of inspiration from the glorious creations provided by Amanda. I have already recommended the course to friends.
A thoroughly enjoyable course with Amanda. Great explanation and demos of techniques, lovely studio, lots of examples of work to get your creative juices flowing. Amanda is patient and encouraging and accommodating and with fabulous homemade cookies, cakes and lunch included !!! I was so excited to pick up my glass pieces, beautifully wrapped and presented. Love my cheese board. Will be back for future courses. Thanks Amanda.
Fabulous day! Amanda is a brilliant tutor and I must have been her least artistic student ever. Despite this I have made three wonderful pieces. The workshop at the bottom of the garden is delightful and the lunch provided was excellent. Would highly recommend!
I had a really brilliant day on this course. Amanda was a great teacher and lovely, putting everyone at ease. I am a complete novice at glass but I learnt so much and am very proud of the pieces I made; Amanda's guidance and tuition was so good I was genuinely surprised at how well my pieces turned out - I never thought I'd be able to make something so professional looking in just one day! There is also a really comprehensive hand-out to take home. Lunch was the icing on the cake (there was actual cake with icing too!), way above and beyond anything I've had at any craft course before.
I had the best day with Amanda and now proudly display my little tray, my door hanging and my coaster for all to see. I learnt a huge amount from Amanda and really enjoyed trying out the new skills she taught me. The two other ladies on the course were fantastic and the ice breaker coffee before we started, together with the delicious lunch, put us all very much at ease with each other. Amanda was a brilliant teacher. I had no idea at all what to expect and was thrilled to bits with the items I collected from the kiln a few days later. Highly recommend the day!
This course was fantastic! I learnt so much! Amanda is a great teacher and also a fab chef, the lunch was amazing. The course ran at a good pace allowing you to take time over your glass design and there was a great amount of variety and choice of coloured glass to use. When I collected my fused glass I was so thrilled with it and have been making good use of the cheese board! I am now addicted to glass!!!
