Glass fusing workshop - half day

Tea lights, large and small.

What will I learn?
• Cutting glass
• Designing a simple fused glass piece
• Assembling a fused glass piece for firing
• A variety of glass fusing techniques depending on your design

What can I make?
We are not prescriptive in what you can make. So long as it fits in our kiln, and can be made in the time allowed you are good to go!

Most people will create 2 pieces on a half day workshop. This depends on the size of your projects(s) and the speed at which you work. If you decide on a lantern it will take you the whole workshop to design and create the four panels.

Ideally, arrive at the workshop with your ideas ready to go. That way you can spend your time making glass rather than thinking about it.

We are always happy to chat about your ideas prior the workshop and to make sure that what you want to make is feasible – click the 'Chat with the Maker' button.

All the items that you make will be yours to keep. Once the item/s has been fired we will notify you it is ready. We can arrange postage of the item/s, or if it's more convenient, you can come and collect it. Most items are ready within 2 weeks, however this can often be sooner.

We have some dates for these courses planned in, however we can run them as and when required. We can do midweek, weekends, so we are very flexible on availability. Many of our customers book a 'crafty day-off work' with the added benefit of feeling they are enjoying it more because they are not at work or eating into their weekend time.

Jill and John are your tutors. They both hold industry recognised professional training qualifications. This means not only do they know their subject, but more importantly how to share it with others in a form that is easy to pick up and in a fun and enjoyable way.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

• Learn to cut glass
• Design several pieces (depending on size)
• Use a variety of glass fusing techniques to
create your projects
• 2 firings in the glass kiln
(typically your projects are fused flat to ‘stick’ all the elements together. A second firing shapes your project into a mould.
Pieces can be collected or posted for a small P&P fee
• Tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day (we are a 5 star food hygiene rated catering venue too!)
