Kiln formed or fused glass courses

Advanced Search

Fused glass, slumped glass, warm glass and kiln formed glass courses, classes and workshops are taught all across the UK. Kiln-formed, fused or warm glass workshops will cover techniques such as fusing, slumping and other processes which use a variety of temperatures and the kiln to form the finished piece. Glass fusing means using heat to reshape, bend or join together two pieces of glass. Glass slumping courses will teach using moulds to make the glass take a particular shape. A more skilled level, ‘glass casting courses’ will involve using moulds and molten glass to create any shape. Other techniques that may be taught are glass combing (using tools to shape warm glass within a kiln) and fire polishing, which is used to create an attractive shiny surface.
