At the ‘Create’ workshops you can come and create anything you would like, either with a friend or by yourself. We will teach you the basics of glass fusing and you will make something beautiful! Think garden decorations, coasters, bowl, hanging panels, curves, tealight holders, jewellery… have a look at our website gallery for inspiration.
The aim of the workshop is to learn the differences between types of glass design; form glass shapes; be aware of the firing process; create a decoration, garden decoration, gift or jewellery and to HAVE FUN! You will explore glass cutting, patterns and specialist glass such as: stringers, confetti and frit as well as inclusions such as copper and wire. Extended techniques such as glass painting, powders stencils and glass printing will also be introduced.
* Demonstrate an understanding of Glass pattern and design.
* Demonstrate an understanding of the practice and methods used in Glass fusing and design.
* Demonstrate technical skills in glass cutting and arrangement.
* Coefficients of glass types, sourcing and selection of glass;
* Cutting, preparation and application to plate glass and direct to a mould;
* Kiln information and finishing after forming.
* Use materials and equipment safely and effectively.

A really really well run workshop by an expert and truly lovely Facilitator/Tutor. Very relaxed but time was well managed, a great space to spend a morning and so much fun getting to learn about the different aspects of glass fusing, and of course to create something! Very good value for money.
