Landscapes and seascapes at the Cheshire School of Glass

Landscapes and seascapes at the Cheshire School of Glass

This course will show you how to use enamels, glass powders and other decorative glass elements to create a landscape or seascape design that incorporates depth of field, perspective and a certain luminosity that is not achievable when working with paint on canvas.

No previous experience of glass is necessary and you don't even need to have a good level of artistry; you will be amazed of the end results. Bring your own image to recreate or use one from our substantial resource library.

After taking an introductory glass fusing glass with Jen, I immediately booked this class for me and my partner. We both really enjoyed our day and learnt such a lot. I based my landscape on one of my Dad’s paintings of a landmark near my Mum’s hometown. My partner made a seascape of one of our favourite places. Jen helped us both - suggesting techniques and materials to turn our ideas into glass reality. It was such an inspiring day and my Mum loves the panel I gifted her.

Response from Cheshire School of Glass:

Awww, thank you so much Charlotte for the lovely review. I hope you are both well and busy quilting . xx

I have recently been on a course in Frodsham in Cheshire and had a wonderful course. I loved the results and the teaching so much , I've booked another course immediately. The teacher has a brilliant structure to the course. She has an easy going manner that makes you immediately feel at ease , yet effortlessly took us all through the process of working with glass and inspired us all to make the most wonderful pieces. I don't know how she did it! I don't consider myself to be very good at art, although I love creating! However Jennifer made it so inspiring I feel we just all responded to her inspiring approach. An amazing experience. I can't wait to do the next one. I have mentioned Cheshire School of glass to Wilmslow WI as I think they would love to do it in groups.

Myself and a friend have just spent two days with Jenny doing landscapes, and a few other projects - Jenny was Absolutely Fantastic - What a warm, friendly and giving person

I can't draw even a stick person, but Jenny made it all so easy, and i finished up amazed with my finished projects, so much that my friend and I are now saving up to go on our next workshop later in the year x

If you don't fancy a landscape, just speak to Jenny as she is so open to any ideas, and has the knowledge to make it happen x

This was a really fabulous course. Lots of information given about how to create foreground and background of land and seascapes. Jenny made everything so lovely for us all. The finished pieces were really wonderful. I think we were all blown away with the results. Excellent course.

As a teacher myself I felt compelled to write a review and say what an exceptional tutor Jenny is. She is a University Lecturer in Art and clearly knows what she is talking about. She created a warm and friendly atmosphere, whilst talking all students through how to create the varying depths of field in glass. Two other people admittedto having limited artistic ability. I must say each of us created incredible results through the guidance of an excellent teacher. We made both a Seascape and Landscape Piece. This is a wonderful course. The results really were astounding.
