Fused Glass | Relief & Effects with Jill Fordham at Cambridge Art Makers
Description
Create glass artworks with fascinating effects and relief patterns. Experiment with using plants, metals and papers, with clear and coloured glass to create relief and interesting effects in your fused glass work. Learn to; cut glass, use metals, plants and special papers to create designs, to make moulds to crate relief designs in your work, to make fixings for hanging. You should expect to make 2-3 pieces with a maximum size of 15 cm sq OR 3-4 smaller pieces. Although you can use rough textures in the layers and there will be some shaping, after firing the glass pieces will have soft rounded edged and a completely smooth top surface. Those wishing to hang their pieces will also learn to add fixings. Pieces made on this course will need to be fired in our kiln. This is a long process so will not be completed during the day. Participants will be invited to collect their pieces at a future date, this may be a number of weeks from the course date due to kiln space.
