Fused Glass Make a Coral Bowl
Contact course provider
About the Course
Many people who attend my courses fall in love with the coral bowl and I understand why. They are just so stunning and the shapes so interesting.
On this course you will be able to make your own coral bowl in either blues, greens, yellows or browns for your own home or give to someone as a gift.
You will be taught how to score and cut glass and practice scoring and cutting on float glass until you feel confident to move on to Bullseye fused glass. You will then assemble your pieces of glass on a kiln shelf ready for firing.
We will cover fused glass schedules for those of you who would like to know the processes of kiln-formed glass.
You will not be able to take your piece home on the day as your bowl needs to go in the kiln three times. You can either collect or I can post to you for an addtional postage cost, once your item is slumped (shaped)
Please wear close capped shoes and safety goggles will have to be worn. A health and safety brief will be cartied out before the session commences.
Any medical conditions or allergies, please let me know. The studio can be dusty in places, even though I try to keep it dust free, as I use fibre paper.
A non-refundable deposit of 50% will be required on booking to hold your place. If you have to cancel your course due to an emergency, please do contact me to discuss. If a deposit is not received into my business account within 5 days of booking, and you have not been in touch, I will remove your name from the course.
A deposit received on the day of the course, in spite of reminders and without any form of communication from you, will not guarantee you a place! Please do not expect to turn up on the day and attend a course!
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All materials and tools included. Refreshments available.
Please wear close-capped shoes as we do you want shards of glass going between toes.
Safety glasses will be worn.
I really enjoyed this course. Ros was very friendly and approachable. She went out of her way to ensure that I got as much out of my 3 hours as possible. She was excellent at teaching and I never felt rushed. I loved the one to one experience. I learnt so much about glass cutting, how to develope a design, types of glass, and glass grinding. I couldn't believe how quickly the time went. I came away having made a lovely moose Christmas decoration.
I really recommend this course and intend to come back to learn more.
Nice coffee and mince pies too!
