3 week Fused glass jewellery & other objects at the fabulous Stratford School of Jewellery

Sheet & accessory glass with metal foils encased between layers


This set of 3 sessions is designed to allow you the opportunity to explore a wide range of techniques used to create beautifully unique fused glass pieces. After a brief introduction to the historical context and language of fused glass, you will be guided through a series of methods of using sheet & accessory glass. Techniques will include scoring, cutting & layering. Use of mica & oxide powders to create sparkle and bubbles. Kiln carving, painting or stencilling with glass line paints and encasing precious metal foils and wires in between layers of glass. With over 22 years of teaching experience, you can be sure of receiving all the support/ guidance/ encouragement you need in order to achieve your full creative potential. But be warned, glass fusing is very addictive!

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

Use of tools and safety equipment. All glass materials. Up to three firings per week in the glass kiln. One cord necklace and one silver plated snake chain for your pendants. Hot or cold drinks. Items will be ready for subsequent sessions and the last collection of items made during week 3 will be ready for collection after 7 working days or can be posted for a small fee of £3.50 to cover the cost of postage and packaging. ( these final items will also have any jewellery findings or other attachments added for you)
