Lyn reviewed: Create with a gel printing plate in Derbyshire

"Another enjoyable day in the Slipper Studio with Liz. Very clear tuition, a useful handout and with a small group plenty of individual attention. I came away with a huge pile of prints, some complete, some to work on further at home - Gelli plate printing is definitely addictive. Thank you."

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Lyn, Good to hear from you and thank you for letting me know about your workshop at The Slipper Studio. It was good fun working with you both, and in particular seeing you understand how you both might use this technique for your individual creative pursuits. I imagine this technique will be taking up a fair amount of your time! Best wishes Liz Wellby and Bert (happily walking on all 4 feet) "

Helen reviewed: Crafter's Retreat - Solihull

"The workshops were excellent and the tutors were amazingly patient and encouraging. However, I found my eyesight not to be good enough for close work, such as for the chain mail bracelet and for part of the beadwork. I really needed a magnifying lens and, perhaps a daylight lamp might have helped too. I never quite grasped the chain mail 'rabbit ears'. I don't know if there could be a demo with extra large rings. I had difficulty handling the tools for this project....The rings kept shooting off in all directions. Never mind- it was all good fun. I really liked the mosaic work as it was entirely up to us how we completed this."

Jolly Super Things responded:

"Thanks so much for the feedback Helen! We're just planning the next retreat for Spring 2024 in the Cotswolds. Hope to meet you again soon. Kind regards, Jennie"

Katy Swift reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"The class was a gift from my partner and it was my first time trying throwing pots on a wheel as a complete novice I was put at ease and had very helpful guidance and teaching from Pat one on one. It was good leaning more about pottery and clay in general and the time flew by! I wished it was longer but I am now signed up to do a Adult Ed Introduction to Potter my course I enjoyed it that much! That says it all really. Thank you Pat. "

Pat Southwood responded:

"So pleased you had a good time and that I have inspired you to take it further, good luck!"

Sunny reviewed: Quilt in a Day, one-to-one course with Amanda Jane Ogden

"Excellent, well thought out course and Amanda Jane is a great teacher who explains things patiently and well. With this 1-2-1 course I was able to learn and practice hands on all the steps to make a small quilt : cutting, sewing a few different patch styles, and then joining the patches, creating the layers, basting, quilting, adding borders and binding. I came away with a finished miniature quilt, and the skills needed to make a full size quilt. The individual tuition helped me learn all this in 1 day so was really time efficient and I think good value vs a 2-3 day beginner course to cover the same skills in a group. I would definitely recommend this course and Amanda Jane as a teacher. "

Amanda Jane Textiles responded:

"Thanks so much for your review. It was a pleasure to teach you and to see you make so much progress over the course of the day. Amanda"
