Tracy Revill reviewed: Blind Embossing: lino printing without inks, in Derbyshire

"I have attended Liz’s workshops before. I love being creative but lack confidence. Liz always makes the experience accessible and fun. What’s more, the outcome is always better than I expected. Today I am very proud of ‘Chubby Owl ?’, which is all thanks to Liz and my fellow attendee Claire, who brought some amazing owl sketches to fire my imagination. I would recommend this course as a great one to start with if you’ve not done one before"

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Tracy, As ever, it was lovely to work with you at The Slipper Studio. Your pieces are lovely and unique, including your curvaceous owl and I hope they are well received. Best wishes Liz Wellby"

Mick Stewart reviewed: Woodturning for beginners

"I did the 2-day course on consecutive days and this was wonderful and immersive. I had never done woodturning before and had a gift of tools and a mini lathe as a present. Stuart is a great teacher, and took me through the basics, including tool sharpening. The first day was theory etc, and apart from making lots of shavings and dust, I only started on my first item; a dibber. The next day was a quick recap then on to more items. I created 4 in total, with growing complexity as my skills developed. I had a great time with Stuart, the chat never stopped, the food/coffee good, the workshop ideal and cosy. I, without hesitation, would thoroughly recommend this course. Thanks, Stuart for a great time."

The Scottish Woodturner responded:

"Thanks Mick. The course sounds so good I may book one myself. All the best with your future turnings. Stuart."

Drusilla Kenney reviewed: A One-day Feltmaking Course to Make a Fabulous Felt Hat in the Beautiful Forest of Dean.

"We spent a thoroughly lovely day with Christine, playing with colour and texture, chatting, laughing and creating, with frequent coffee and tea and an excellent homemade lunch. From my original enquiry - this was a special surprise birthday present for my sister - Christine was enthusiastic, helpful and accommodating. We are both crafting novices. Christine was happy to be flexible and we made our final decision on the day to make felt hats (but were tempted too by the slippers and bags on show). Although we both chose the same style as inspiration, our results were totally different and utterly personal. We have made very special memories with Christine - and very special, individual hats!"
