Your session includes choosing your 2 best pots if on a one person session or 2 pots each, if on a two person session. These will be glazed and fired with the glazes of your choice, they will be ready for collection within 3-4 weeks.
*Please note this is for adults only and the Health & Safety maximum weight limit to use a seated potters wheel as advised by the manufacturers is 20 stone.
*You will need to able to sit at the wheel (see photo's) for most of the 2hr session and be at a normal level of strength and stamina.
*Max 2 people.
**Due to C19 restrictions masks must be worn at all times.
*Sessions can be arranged for week days or at weekends, just let me know.

Bought for my girlfriend as a surprise birthday present
Pat was professional and friendly
Would 100% recommend!
Thank you Pat
Response from Pat Southwood:Thank you for your comments and recommendation.
Pat shares her love for this art form with ease and allows you to develop or start your own passion with clay. I'd thoroughly recommend!
Response from Pat Southwood:Thank you for your kind words.
Wonderful experience. Pat was very knowledgeable and helpful. I am a wheelchair user and Pat did everything she could to enable me to take part. You do need to be partially ambulatory and take a carer with you as the seat to the wheel is static.
Response from Pat Southwood:Many thanks, you made some good pots! , I'm really pleased that you enjoyed yourself and that all the practicalities worked out O.K.
Pat is lovely and a fabulous teacher. I booked this workshop as a present for my husband, and he loved every minute. As a complete beginner, he ended up with some really lovely pots. We can't wait to see them once they have been glazed and fired!
Response from Pat Southwood:Thanks Charlotte, it was lovely to meet you both, I think your husband may have discovered a hidden talent!
A wonderful experience! Pat was friendly, welcoming and an excellent teacher. It made a great birthday present and I would definitely recommend to others. Excited to see my final pieces!
Response from Pat Southwood:Thanks Alex, you made some lovely pieces!
Both Tan and I had a fantastic morning with Pat
She was very welcoming and took time to explain everything we needed to know, this I turn lead to a great experience on the wheel and we were both able to produce some reasonable pieces.
We are looking forward to collecting them post firing and glazing in a few weeks
We would both definitely recommend this experience to anyone thinking about having a go on the potters wheel
Response from Pat Southwood:Hi, Thanks for your lovely review, you certainly both did well and I look forward to showing you your finished work soon. Pat.
I was given the gift of half a day using a potters wheel for my birthday. My partner and I had a great morning with Pat, who is a very patient and knowledgeable teacher. It was a fun way to spend a morning and I would recommend it to anyone who fancies a little taster of what it’s like to use a potter’s wheel. I was delighted that we managed to make some reasonable pots with Pat’s help. It was also really fascinating to hear about her career and see some the beautiful pieces she has made.
Response from Pat Southwood:Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed yourselves, you worked hard!
What a fantastic experience! My partner and I did a taster session for her birthday recently and we had such a great time. Pat was brilliant throughout, very easy going and chatty, she guided us through every step of the process and made us feel really confident. A perfect spot for pot throwing and a lovely walk afterwards with tea and cakes by the water's edge. If we didn't live in Cumbria we'd be back again soon it will definitely be booking again as an excuse for another holiday to Norfolk. Couldn't recommend Pat highly enough.
Response from Pat Southwood:Delighted you both enjoyed yourselves, you made some great pots - thank you for your kind words.
A great experience! Pat is an amazing teacher, very welcoming, friendly and encouraging! The two hours flew by so quickly and I was able to produce several pots, two of which were then glazed, fired and ready for me to collect a few weeks later. Pat was happy to answer any questions I had and made some further recommendations for equipment, evening classes, etc. I would recommend the taster session to anyone wishing to try something new, and it also makes a lovely gift. Thanks again Pat!
Response from Pat Southwood:Very happy to hear that you enjoyed yourself, you produced some great work! Good luck if you continue your journey in clay.
I purchased a two hour taster session (for two people) for my daughters 16th birthday.
I wasn’t expecting my daughter to take me along with her but I’m so glad she did, we had a wonderful time.
Pat was so welcoming, knowledgable and clearly passionate about pottery.
She was a fantastic tutor, patient and tailored her assistance to our individual needs.
I thoroughly recommend this experience and expect we will look to do it again soon.
We are looking forward to collecting our fired and glazed pots to see how they came out.
Her studio is perfectly placed for a visit to Salhouse Broad too, so we did that afterwards and bought ice cream!
Being a complete novice, Pat took me through the processes involved and after 2 hours, I had a range of pots that were surprisingly good for a complete beginner! She stepped in when needed while still allowing you to make some mistakes and learn from them. A great teacher and an excellent 2 hours spent.
Response from Pat Southwood:Thank you for such great comments, so glad you enjoyed yourself and started to explore Pottery.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience on every level! Pat is a fantastic teacher who guided me over the two hours from being a complete novice to producing some fairly decent and totally useable pots! A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere made this a great activity to completely switch off from the hum drum and get immersed in learning new skills. Superb tea too Pat!
I would thoroughly recommend and I can't wait to try it again!
A great evening with a dear friend...just because! Thank You!
