Would you like to learn how to make your own lampshades? Our lampshade making workshop is perfect for a creative treat or chance to meet up with friends and make something beautiful for your home at the same time! This workshop also makes a wonderful present - buy someone a place, or book for you and a friend! The course will take place in our lovely shop in the small town of Bovey Tracey on the edge of beautiful Dartmoor. The course is suitable for all levels of competency and there is no sewing required. In this small group class, Rachael will guide you through each of the steps at a gentle pace, ensuring you have all the time and support needed to create a beautiful lampshade. The course will last for approximately 2 1/2 - 3 hours and will include some light refreshments. There are 2 steps to access the building and a long flight of stairs (23 steps) to access the toilet facilities. Rachael will expertly guide you through the necessary steps and you will finish with a real sense of achievement as well as a striking lampshade! All materials are provided, though you are welcome to bring your own fabric (please contact us for measurements). Extra components will also be available to purchase should you be bitten by the lampshade bug and want to continue making at home! All workshop attendees will also receive 10% off any purchases made in the shop on the date of your class (excluding our instore bookshop, First Draft Books). Please note - Places are limited and subject to availability. We can also arrange classes for groups of friends/hen parties/team events - please contact us for further details. Also please get in touch if any of the dates or times do not work for you and we will see if we can arrange something more suitable! We reserve the right to cancel the course if sufficient numbers are not taken up. We will give at least 2 days prior notice if this is the case. We will refund the cost if we can not move you to an agreeable alternative date.
