Shirley reviewed: Felt Lampshades at Silversoles Studio, Birmingham

"Emma is a very inspiring teacher, she provided us with lots of information, ref, and clear instructions. I’ve learned how to transfer my ideas and designs onto a lampshade; recommend to homemakers, artists & designers alike. A very interesting medium to consider for marketing ur designs or as a creative expression, it is also a very useful for homemaking / interior designs with a personal touch. This workshop has given me some insights on the possibilities of what u could do with felt, or with added embellishments on it; turning creative expressions into a product, very interesting & practical for future projects. I’m very pleased with what I’ve learned, I recommend the course "

Shirley reviewed: Felt Pouch - for 'Phones or Glasses!

"Hello Emma, thank you for teaching us the pouch making workshop, it was fun & the project scale is easily achieved at home. I can make my very own designer bag now, and it’s quite eco friendly I feel. A practical little project. If I see some bags I like in shops, I could take them as ref / inspirations, using wool to mimic the designs or to create my own. I’ve been learning so much from Emma for the past few courses in the past few months, I look forward for the next one."

Rachel S reviewed: Fluid art - acrylic pouring

"Thank you Eunice for your skill and patience which helped me create two unique works of art for my home. Having seen videos on Facebook I was thrilled to find a course very local to me so that I could have a go. So many colours to choose from and different techniques to try. Truly mind blowing watching the paint "live" and evolve on the canvas before your very eyes! Eunice was friendly, helpful and informative and I hope to do more acrylic paint pouring in the future. Would give 10/10 if I could! "

Eunice J. Friend responded:

"So lovely to meet you and share the wonders of fluid art. I like your terminology of the paint being alive - it certainly does have a life of its own. "

Malcolm Pursey reviewed: Raise your own silver whisky tumbler, three day course

"This is a most enjoyable course with a beautiful end product. On the face of it it may seem expensive but there is quite a weight of sterling silver in the whisky tumbler. You soon realise just how skilful the professional silversmiths must be but, under Charlotte’s watchful eye, you get the benefit of her expertise to enable a novice like me to produce a decorative and useful item. I shall display it proudly at home and use it whenever I need a whisky. The assay mark makes it a real prized possession and if you do the course soon you can get the Coronation hallmark added for extra kudos."

Charlotte Tollyfield Contemporary Bespoke Silverware responded:

"Thank you so much for your review Malcolm. I'm glad you enjoyed your time on the course, and that you're proud of what you created; you did a fantastic job! Best Wishes, Charlotte."

Ilone reviewed: Pottery taster courses in the South Downs

"Would definitely recommend this taster course. Rowena is an excellent tutor/potter she guided us through various techniques using the Potters Wheel. Being total beginners it was really useful to have the private 2 to 1 tuition and we managed to produce several items (with varying degrees of success!). You leave your makes with Rowena who finishes and glazes (your choice of glaze) for you. Excellent value for money, fun, interesting & a great experience. Thanks Rowena! "

H.Rugg reviewed: Have a Go Stone Carving

"We booked this activity as a family of 4 (youngest 16 years old) and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the stone-carving taster course. Jonathan, our instructor, clearly had a wealth of experience and plenty of enthusiasm to go with it! After learning a few basics, we were able to choose a simple design to carve into a small limestone slab. I found it both therapeutic and rewarding, and would very happily come again for a longer session in the future."

"Hi Heather, Thank You so much for your 5* review. We are really pleased you and family had such a great time, with Jonathan as your tutor. Looking forward to welcoming you back to Burngate in the near future! Kind regards, David Wise (Centre Manager) "

Alistair reviewed: Basic blacksmithing course

"Attended this course for a friend's birthday and had a great time. Jos and Gary were both polite, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They managed to guide the four of us through making some simple but great-looking blacksmith's knives in the time we had. The instructions were very clear and both Gary and Jos were very patient and took the time to explain what was happening, as well as helping with all the equipment and stopping us making any mistakes. I can't recommend this course and location enough if you have any interest in blacksmithing, its a great day out, really fun, and you get the satisfaction of taking home something you've made yourself!"

Thomas Love reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience in Grassington (5 hours)

"An absolutely fantastic day. We spent 5 hours forging away and came away with some great pieces we were really proud of. Richard is a great teacher! He taught us many of the core techniques that we could then use to work on our projects, and was always on hand to help and advise. We both came with custom ideas and Richard helped us break them down into understandable steps so we could work on them all the way through to completion. Couldn’t recommend this course more highly! "
