Description
This course is on request, for a maximum of two people. Please get in touch to arrange a mutual convenient date. Discover how to make a floaty, beautiful Nuno felted scarf using fine wool fibre tops in gorgeous colour ways. Add plant and other fibres to create texture and lustre all felted and embedded onto a long silk scarf or cotton fabric. There will lots of samples of Nuno felting and scarfs for inspiration. I will do a demonstration of the nuno felting technique. You will then be able to experiment by making a small sample piece(s) felting wool and other fibres onto loose weave fabrics before starting the scarf. Suitable for those that have tried wet felting before but not necessarly nuno felting which is wet - felting wool and other types of fibres onto the surface of the fabric to make a strong but drapey peice of fabric. It is ideal for making scarves and lightweight clothing.

The cost of this course is £140 for a maximum of two people making it £70 per person. If you are interested and don't have someone to join you please message me. All materials including fabrics for samples and the use of equipment The price for the silk scarf is an extra payable on the day: £10 for silk and £4 for cotton. You can choose either a long white silk chiffon scarf or a piece of cotton muslin fabric. Teas, coffee and fruit/biscuits provided. Please bring a packed lunch. The workshop is held in Josephine's studio in the lovely and warm Birchcliffe Centre, a converted chapel in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Free car park. Hebden Bridge has a Railway station and buses stop right outside the centre.
