I'm Josephine a fibre and mixed media artist and tutor with over 20 years experience of all aspects of wet and dry (needle) felt-making
I have my own studio as part of an artists community in Fletchers Mill, Dean Clough in Halifax, West Yorkshire. I run a wide choice of fun, relaxing felt making and needle felting workshops using a vast colourful selection of materials. I also run the courses at other venues. I can set up bespoke courses for friends and families do get in touch to discuss the options.
In the past I have been a designer and lecturer. Several years as a community artist. I have delivered and managed celebratory and public arts projects creating textile wall hangings, costumes, murals, lanterns parades, mosaics within Schools, and the wider community.
"A really enjoyable course and perfect for beginners. Jo gives lots of really helpful instruction in a really friendly atmosphere. The end result might look slightly unsheep like but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a go at needle felting. "

"Hi Penny, Lovely to meet you and your daughter in law. Your little sheep was very cute with a lovely jaunty look, and a gorgeous, multi coloured funky coat. Delighted you had an enjoyable day, discovering needle felting. Thank you for your review, much appreciated."
"We had a lovely day learning how to create a wet felted picure. The session flew by as we learnt how to use all the different materials and Josephine was really knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. The studio is in a great location and easy to reach by car and train. Thank you for a great day, and we are rally pleased with our creations."

"Thank you and fantastic to hear you both had a lovely day learning and making your first felted pictures whilst exploring the huge variety of materials. Delighted you liked my spacious new studio and it’s location at Dean Clough in the lovely town of Halifax."
"Did the beginners day course and it was amazing. What an inspiring lady Josephine is and so talented. She really made me feel comfortable and that at the end of the day I had achieved something worthwhile.
Would certainly look to doing another course with her. The cost including all materials and a small class so well worth it."
Phinefibre responded:
"Thank you Pam for your lovely generous review, delighted you enjoyed discovering wet felt making and were so happy in the class, making your beautiful, vibrantly colourful felt picture. Great to see you exploring & using lots of the wool and plant fibres on offer. Hope to see you again."
