Explore wet felt-making with fibres and fabric in Hebden Bridge
A fun day workshop suited to complete beginners. Experiment and explore felt-making with a variety of wool and plant fibres using different techniques to make a colourful textural felted picture. With fibre and mixed media artist and tutor Josephine Gornall. Lots of felt making samples to look at in my studio where the class is based, followed by a practical demonstration of felt-making. Then make one or two, pictorial - seascape, landscape, floral or abstract felted peices. Select from a wide choice of gorgeous coloured wools, loads of plant fibres, yarns and fabrics. Explore blending and mixing wool colours and different types of fibres together. Learn about the differing properties of wool and plant fibres, in felt making. Plus the effects can be achieved by using pieces of fabric in your felted picture. So you can embed wool/plant fibres, yarns and fabrics into the felted surface to create texture and form in your felted picture. The workshop is held in Josephine's spacious and warm studio in the lovely Birchcliffe Centre a converted chapel in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Free car park. There is a railway station and bus stop right outside the centre. Hebden Bridge is well known for its wonderful mix of independent shops plus lots of cafes. Private bespoke workshops are available for friends and families in my studio. From two people upwards. Please get in touch to discuss possibilities.
