Denny has over 20 years’ experience and teaches beginners and intermediate mosaic workshops throughout the year at her studio in Starcross, near Exeter. Beginners will be taught all the skills necessary to create a mosaic at home whether it's a mosaic table, mirror or piece of original mosaic wall art. Workshops for those with experience include creating a mosaic for the garden (bird bath or wall art) or an interior piece (bird or 2D vase) using broken china.
Classes are small - four maximum - relaxing, and fun with all tools, a wide choice of materials as well as good beginners notes to take away included. Tea, coffee and homemade cake in ample supply are also provided throughout the day!
Dates, other than those shown, can be accommodated - just contact me with your preferred date.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

Really enjoyed this one day workshop where I made a small abstract mosaic piece of wall art.
Denny offers a lot of advice throughout the day and I would recommend this course for anyone wanting to try mosaic for the first time and wanting to leave with something to show for it and enough knowledge to make something simple at home
Response from MosaicXandMe:Thank you Clare! So glad you enjoyed the day - I enjoyed teaching you and your friends. Hope to see you again one day. Denny x
Thoroughly enjoyed the day course. Am always a bit wary of joining classes when going by myself. I was joined by 3 ladies...sisters/friends who were lovely. Denny made everyone welcome and relaxed. The home made cakes were a lovely touch and much appreciated.Enjoyed it so much am booked in for 2 more days in Oct and Nov...Really pleased with the picture I made..so much so have another one in the making.I had dabbled with mosaics before but felt I needed the knowledge of the finer points and finishes...all of which Denny advised me on...
Response from MosaicXandMe:Thank you, June, for taking the time to write this review. And a nice one too! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Denny x
I thoroughly recommend this course, a relaxed friendly and enjoyable day. Denny made everyone feel welcome, she has a fantastic wealth of knowledge and nothing was to much trouble, will certainly be signing up again. She also provided some yummy home made cakes !!!
Response from MosaicXandMe:Thank you, Denise, for taking the trouble to do a review - and a lovely one too! I enjoyed the day too and meeting you, and hope to see you again at another workshop or crafternoon.
I went with two friends and had a lovely time. We were all beginners, but each of us had a professional-looking piece of work to take home at the end of the day. I'm no artist, but mine's on the wall and guests have actually asked where I bought it!!
It's a very friendly, relaxed workshop, but at the same time Denny obviously knows her stuff when it comes to mosaics - AND baking; the cake was absolutely yummy and it'd be worth going for that alone :). She helps and advises without taking over, and you just feel really well looked-after in every way.
There's also a huge range of materials available, from tiles, stained glass, mirrors and beads to pebbles and seashells from the local beach, plus all the tools and safety equipment you could need. You can even bring broken crockery that means something to you, and turn it into art.
I can't recommend this course highly enough. It's a really lovely way to spend a day.
This is an excellent workshop, very well taught and which enables you in one session to take home a piece of mosaic work fully finished. Denny's teaching is fun and full. It is lovely to see her own work and then be let loose on an array of lovely tiles and glass. Mosaic combines art and craftmanship but this is an activity for all abilities.
