Suitable for complete beginners, this quality kit contains everything needed to create a gorgeous bronze finished ‘Hare’ and 'Sleeping Cat' sculpture at home! (although if you would prefer just 2 x Hares or 2 x Sleeping Cats this is no problem - please just send a message when you place the order). Both these sculptures are also sold as individual kits and ‘friends & family’ packs of 4 (see separate listings by pressing the ‘more from this maker’ button at the bottom of this page). No previous clay sculpture experience is needed (honestly!). Both sculptures come with their own set of detailed printed instructions and also an online, step-by-step video of Jo showing how to bring the sculptures to life which can be viewed as often as needed. This kit is a wonderful present to yourself for several hours of ‘zen’ time or makes an ideal unique gift for an individual or couple. Coming from the Jo Garden Art studio where we usually have in person workshops (see the 'Hare Sculpture Workshops' and 'Two Day Sculpture Workshops' here on the Craft Course Website), this kit is one of a range of kits now on sale by Jo Garden Art (press the 'more from this maker button'). Each kit is lovingly put together by Jo in her Suffolk studio and contains good quality products as used in our 'in-person' workshops. For the ‘Sleeping Cat’ the kit has a scale template of Jo's own British Blue Cat (Olive), however she also explains how to create a scale template of your own cat. Names can be scribed on the base to make it even more personal. For the ‘Hare’, the provided armature has movable ears, head and tail to allow you to create your own individual pose before adding the clay. Each hare sculpture is truly original! Each sculpture will take about 90 minutes to sculpt using the quality air-drying clay, although Jo includes in the kit a bio-degradable bag to keep your sculpture moist should you wish to take a break. Once finished your sculptures are either left to air-dry over 24 - 48 hours or popped into an oven for 90 minutes! You then use the provided paint and gilt cream (paint brush and applicators are in the kit) to create a beautiful bronze finish. Please note - the kit should be made within 4 months of purchase. These wonderful sculptures are for enjoying inside as the air-drying clay prefers not to endure soggy weather ;-). The kit is not suitable for children under 10 as it contains sharp items. Welcome 😃 I'm Jo Garden. I call myself a 'facilitator' as my joy is enabling people of any skill to achieve something they did not expect, plus have time away from the everyday stresses of normal life. My sculpture & slate mosaic workshops are broken down into small stages which result in amazing sculptures and works of art regardless of your artistic ability (honestly). If you purchase a kit, there is a full length video of me making the sculpture which you can watch as many times as you wish. If attending a workshop, my peaceful studio is tucked into the garden surrounded by trees and wildlife making it a very tranquil and stress busting. I run several workshops a month but am often booked up for months in advance. If you book a long way in the future, I do make contact if I have cancellations and can move you forward.
