Roslyn Williams reviewed: Absolute beginners beaded jewellery workshop

"Omg I'm really getting addicted to coming to these workshops with Scarlet, I'm on my 3rd workshop. So far I've done the fairy and bracelet workshops, the fairy workshop is a definite must do again. Yesterday I did the silver clay workshop & it was my first time doing anything like this & it was just fantastic, I made a necklace from a real leaf that we found in the garden & some earrings with smaller leafs in silver. So much fun & I learnt to solder my own links onto them too. I was real nervous to do soldering but she showed me step by step until I was properly confident & made me feel like I can achieve anything. Scarlet is extremely patient & so nice. I showed my family my leaf jewellery and they couldn't believe I made them. I am definitely going back to learn more silver clay with a friend next time. Thank you again Scarlet for a lovely day. Love Roslyn x"

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"...YAY.. Thank you so much for your lovely review Roslyn, you are becoming a regular at the workshops. As a silver clay and soldering beginner you did really well and your jewellery was lovely. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Sx"

Rebecca reviewed: Blacksmithing Beginners day courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"What a fantastic day! My 16 year old daughter was given this course as a Christmas present and I was her plus 1! From start to finish we were made to feel incredibly welcome by all three members of the team. Adrian and Andy were patient and encouraging teachers and Debbie was a generous host. No matter what your skill level (ours was non existent!) you can do this and come away feeling a great sense of achievement with what you've made. It was fun and relaxed throughout, and the day flew by. We were incredibly well fed with great home made, hearty food. We came away exhausted, and filthy but chuffed to bits. Thank you for a great day!"

Emma Greenhalgh reviewed: Stained glass Monday evening course

"I thoroughly enjoyed the evening course and saw a real development in my skills over the 9 weeks. Sharon is a knowledgeable, patient and fun teacher, who recognises the importance of safety as well as allowing her students some independence. I heartily recommend Sharon's courses for all budding (or just curious) stained glass artists."

Eileen F reviewed: Introduction to screen printing

"All I can say is, if you have never, ever done screen printing before in your life and you really want to do it but you lack self-confidence - then this is course is for you. Ria is absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable and easy-going. We did have a bit of banter and it was great fun which made the course even more enjoyable and I did meet some really lovely people. The course itself was easy, very detailed and covered inexpensive ways of making a print you could do at home. The materials are free - you can choose from tote bags, tea towels, cushion covers etc. You literally just draw your design, cut a stencil, choose your colours, screen print then stand back and admire your own work! Don’t worry, you’re not left on your own, Ria is with you all the way. I had problems with the squeegee thingy to start with. You’re supposed to make one or two smooth movements down the screen to push the paint through. I just couldn’t get it right but with Ria’s help and me doing a few practice runs I soon got the knack of it. At the end of the day, I had learned something new – a new skill that I didn’t have a few hours before and I was able to take my handiwork home with me. I’m so glad I went on this course. Thanks for a fantastic day Ria and I do hope to see you soon!"

Jill Davey reviewed: Stained glass introduction at Blue Kite Stained Glass

"I had a really excellent day yesterday attending Iain's stained glass course. From start to finish Iain gave myself and another 'student' his undivided attention. We learnt all the stages of making a stained glass panel and were also provided with useful written information to take home. I made a really lovely 20cm square panel which now hangs at my living room window. Hope to maybe take this up as a new hobby in the winter, when the lawn doesn't need cutting all the time! Thank you Iain for such an enjoyable and informative day."

Blue Kite Stained Glass responded:

"Hi Jill, glad you enjoyed it, you should both be really proud of your work!"
