Bianca Raabe reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"What a fabulous day. Started with cup of tea and then a full explanation of the day ahead. Each item we made was thoroughly explained and support and guidance was easily given. Superb help was given at each stage. Coming away having made a key ring and coat hook was amazing. Lunch was fantastic, delicious and gave energy for the afternoon. The finishing touch of cake was lovely. As a small ‘oldish’ woman I didn’t have high expectations of my abilities but everything was done in a way that exceeded this 100% and I would and will happy go again. I highly recommend this as an experience."

Rowena reviewed: Introduction to fused glass (1 day) in Sheffield, South Yorkshire

"Martin was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day, I had an absolutely brilliant time. He provided all the tools and equipment and was happy to offer advice, but he also let you go in your own direction with each piece if you wanted to. The number of pieces you are able to make in one day is brilliant and I would love to do this workshop again! 100% would recommend!"

Sara reviewed: Mid Century Modern Refinishing & Restoration Workshop - All levels - 3 days

"I loved the three days I spent in Ollie's workshop, and especially the beautifully transformed desk that I came away with, the skills, and the newfound confidence it has given me. I’d already done a bit of restoration but I was often getting bewildered by the amount of differing advice you find online about how to tackle different restoration issues. I needed definitive advice and guidance from an expert and I needed to be able to ask questions and that’s exactly what the three days with Ollie will give you. I definitely feel like it might have been a game-changer for my own business and I hope to go back for more! Thanks again Ollie."

Janet Beaumont reviewed: Expressive painting in oils or acrylics

"A very relaxed day with Liz, painting in the lovely courtyard garden behind the studio. As an absolute beginner with no idea what to expect I was made to feel at ease and given gentle guidance whenever I was stuck. There were just five participants, all with different levels of skill, and Liz had time to work with all of us, encouraging us and pointing us in the right direction. I would recommend this course - great therapy, time out of the everyday, and maybe the start of something new."

"I really enjoyed my day at ReVamp Boutique! Sarah is very inspirational and makes you feel so much at ease! As the day went on I felt more and more creative and relaxed! Sarah Mortimer reviewed: "2 Crafts in 1 Day!" pairs - woodturning & pottery experience

"What a fantastic day! We learnt two new skills in one day and loved both. Simon and Louise are very welcoming and very patient in their teaching; instructions were easy to follow and very helpful and all aspects of health and safety were very clear. We also had a very tasty lunch. Both crafts were extremely enjoyable and very satisfying; it is lovely to come away with something we made (and a certificate!) Our honey dibbers are beautiful and have already been shown off to friends and family and we are looking forward to seeing out pottery after it is fired and glazed. We would (and already have) recommend this craft day - we had a lot of fun and are proud of our achievements. Thank you Simon and Louise."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi guys, We are really pleased that you had a good time! You both made some lovely woodturned dibbers and ceramic pieces - which are drying nicely. We enjoyed your company and having you in the studios too :-). Well done - you should both be very proud of your work!"

"Thoroughly enjoyed the course, which was bought for me as a birthday gift. Adrian and Andy were extremely helpful and gave guidance where needed. I now have two practical things I can use and say I made those with my fair hand; with a little help. The food was delicious! I would definitely recommend this experience. Thanks, Ian."

Lynda Hepburn reviewed: Bookbinding and sketching workshop at The Arienas Collective in central Edinburgh

"Such an enjoyable day of face-to-face crafting. The book binding with Cass was as always clear, unhurried and helpful. Sketching was the challenge for me, but Mark made time to help each participant with their sketches and give plenty tips. The Arienas Collective is a lovely space to work in and the whole day was a rare treat."

The Arienas Collective responded:

"Hi Lynda Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this lovely review. We're so glad you enjoyed your day. The beauty of smaller classes is that the artists have time to give you the support you need, and I'm glad you got some helpful tips from Mark to progress your sketching skills. We hope to welcome you back one day. With best wishes Lynn, Cass and Mark x"

rosemary ann westlake reviewed: Craft Workshop: Learn to nuno felt (beginners and intermediates)

"Having enjoyed a day acquiring the basic skills of wet felting with Sally I couldn't wait to return and tackle Nuno felting. I expected basic tuition but the day was structured specifically for my personal ambitions and dilemmas. I came away with an understanding of the basic techniques of nuno, but so, so much more. I learnt how to create raised forms which I can incorporate into my usual practice as a textile artist and a whole raft of problems I have encountered were solved. The day was exciting with achieving a good understanding of the basics but having my eyes opened to a new range of possibilities for future work as well, both with felting and my normal textile art. It was an exhausting but exciting day, tailored to my specific needs and I came away bursting with new ideas and skills, and the confidence to continue on my own. And if I hit problems I know I have Sally's support to guide me through. A wonderful day!"

Craft Workshops responded:

"Thank you Rosemary - I am very excited to see more of your fibre art and very pleased to have been able to help with some issues, guidance and techniques. I look forward to seeing you (and your art) again very soon - can't wait to see how you develop it from here on. Sally"

Daniela Wright reviewed: One day silver pendant and earring workshop

"Superb ! My sisters and I had a fabulous day together creating special memories and sentimental pieces of jewellery. Jolene has an inspiring work space which is buzzing with creativity. She demonstrated and explained each step clearly and then guided us through the process when we made our pieces. My children love the very personal pendants I made them which when re-assembled create the three pieces of a heart. Thanks for a great day Jolene, we loved every moment - it was food for the soul! I will be recommending to friends to enjoy this experience."

Jolene Smith responded:

"So lovely to meet you I had a great day too love how you all worked together x"

"An excellent two days that took us from logs to beautiful furniture. There was superb teaching with support and advice available at all times. "I really can not praise Chris and Pauline of Wold Stained Glass enough. The course itself was in depth and very informative. The time absolutely flew by and I learned a lot. In addition the hospitality was fantastic. If I had to give marks out of 10 it would have to be a 20 on all fronts."

Andrew Smallbone reviewed: Basic automata and mechanical toy making

"The tutor, Stef, was very organised contacting me in plenty of time to arrange The Day with does and don'ts. On the day of the course, which was just Stef and myself, he explained Health & Safety and then we started the build. The workshop is big enough. All the tools were clean and he unwrapped new hearing muffs and goggles for me. Whilst I chose to build what looked to be a simple fisherman it did in fact take until 5 pm to finish with lunch eaten on the go. Stef was at pains to make sure that I made all the parts and I was instrumental in putting it all together at the end. I also had to paint the fisherman. Stef tried his hardest to make sure that I enjoyed the day. I had a fantastic day. Stef was easy to get on with and he was very attentive to the construction and my wishes. The course was bought for me as a birthday gift. It was brilliant. I’ve now got an automaton Thankyou Stef"

Penlan Crafts responded:

"Thank you Andrew for your kind review. I am very happy you enjoyed building your mechanical toy. It was a pleasure working with you! All the best"
