Barbara Head reviewed: Creating shadows and light in your collagraph prints, course in artists studio near York

"A lovely day with lovely like-minded people. Welcomed with coffee and biscuits and an informal chat about what we would be doing for the two days. Emily introduced us to new exciting ways to print Collographs and encouraged us to try different methods. We were all thrilled with the end results. Emily explained everything simply and was so helpful. The studio is set in a large wild garden very secluded with French doors opening onto the garden. I will be booking again Emily. Thank you."

Emily Harvey Printmaker responded:

"Thanks Babs, I am glad you enjoyed it."

Laura Wade reviewed: Resin Jewellery Group Class

"I really enjoyed this workshop. With just a small group it was very friendly and Linda was able to give us individual help if we needed it. I'm really pleased with the pendants and earrings I made and brought home with me and would definitely recommend this workshop to others who enjoy making things. The venue was also very good with plenty of parking (not always easy in Guildford!), and there was plenty of tea and cake to keep us going too. Thanks Linda."

Stampaholics responded:

"Hi Laura Thank you very much for your lovely review. I am glad you enjoyed the workshop. You have done some amazing work with your pink mica powder pendant and earrings!"

Vernon Needham reviewed: Introduction to green wood furniture making - two days

"Excellent 2 days! Thank you Peter and Lulu. Peter's style is patient and encouraging, and his instruction very clear. Some woodworking skills, and particularly an understanding of the structure(s) of wood are an advantage before joining the course, though not absolutely essential. The working techniques help in 'reading' the wood to get the best out of it. I can guarantee all of our course enjoyed it immensely."

John Woodhouse reviewed: maltese limestone carving at mount pleasant gardens

"The course was originally booked for my wife by our children as she loves crafting in all its diversities. I was coerced by her to attend with her. We had little knowledge of what to expect other than the images and reviews on line and were apprehensive to say the least. We should not have worried at all as Andrew was excellent in seeking out our ideas of what we wanted to do during the coming two days. There were no surprises with Andrew, he gave assistance to suit individual needs, skills and attributes as he saw what we were each capable of. My wife Maria and I were thrilled with our own completed items at the end of the course and also with each and every other item produced by everyone else who was there. All the participants on the course interacted and got on well with each other over the two days and were genuinely supportive of each others efforts. We would both highly recommend this course to anyone who thinks it is something they would like to undertake, just go for it, you will really enjoy it, especially the finished work of art you will come away with."

Suzette Berry reviewed: Introduction to mosaics / further adventures in mosaic workshop

"The sculpture mosaic course was relaxed and enjoyable, as are all Kate's courses. It was explained clearly how to use the materials we hadn’t used before and then over the two days Kate was very attentive to us all but gave us plenty of time to work at our own pace, which I think is the best kind of learning. The group were pleasant and I enjoyed seeing everyone's pieces develop with our different styles."

mandy jackson reviewed: Fascinator making Birmingham millinery workshop

"We all had a great day last Saturday (7th Sept) in Leeds. Rachel, is a fantastic instructor and created a lovely cohesive, relaxing atmosphere to learn and create. I have never worked with sinamay before, or made flowers. But on the day I was able create a finished fascinator, which I am happy to wear. I now have the confidence and information to create many more, knowing Rachel is on hand by email. Thank you Rachel. I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested."

Lynne Cunningham reviewed: Paper Marbling Class Full Day at Portsmouth Museum

"I recently enjoyed a 1 day workshop with James at his Ebru Studio to experience the basic Ebru marbling technique. It was an excellent day, great fun and very absorbing. James is a very friendly, very patient and encouraging teacher and I was amazed and delighted - even as a complete novice I was really thrilled at what I achieved! It's a very forgiving craft - I made mistakes, or at least I thought I had, but with James mistakes don't really happen - he happily encourages and shows a way of converting those 'mistakes' into a creative success! Relaxing, fascinating, absorbing - I would highly recommend doing a workshop with James - and his studio is also in a lovely location!"

James Mouland Ebru Studio responded:

"Thanks Lynne, I really enjoyed teaching you and you produced some lovely results you should be very proud of your achievements!"

Heather Johnston reviewed: Natural (cold process) soap making workshop with afternoon tea

"I had a great day. I have wanted to make cold process soap for a while, but found the thought of using lye a little scary. Julie walked us through each step and given me the confidence to try it at home. There were so many oils and fragrances to try, as well as colours and botanicals, we were spoilt for choice. I've already made 3 batches of soap since getting home."

John & Sue Robinson reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"We completed a 3 day course with Alex and thoroughly enjoyed it. At the end of the course we came away with a completed lily sculpture and a hand rail for the garden and of course many new skills. Alex was very welcoming, encouraging and accommodating, we had to change the course days at fairly short notice. He was very patient, easy to get on with and he provided us with good instructions and explanations and, although absolute beginners at blacksmithing, neither of us felt that we were ever going to fail with our projects. The days were long and it was hard physical work but it was rewarding at the end of each day to see our progress. Both of us are in our mid 60s and I am hoping to continue doing some similar work at home."

Chalk Pit Forge responded:

"Hi John and Sue, Thanks very much for your great review. Glad you enjoyed your time in the forge. Alex"
