Dawn reviewed: Mosaic Summer/Autumn School (5 days) in the Peak District

"My husband and I went to the one-day course last week (June 2021) as our 2019 Christmas present from our children. It was worth the wait and delays. The location is beautiful and immediately makes you feel welcome and relaxed. Alison and Peter are a joy to meet and so accommodating. Peter took our course and was knowledgeable, approachable and so friendly. We were excited to be learning a new craft and were not disappointed with the whole process. Our mosaic actually looks like a mosaic (with some issues as beginners) but definitely a mosaic! It was so lovely to bring home our creation and be able to share it with our children. We cannot thank Peter and Alison enough for the whole day and the welcome. We now have a little knowledge about mosaic making and are hoping to do more at home. I have already bought the tools and cannot wait!"

Rita Miles reviewed: 1 to 1 - Unraveling your Sewing Machine

"When I got my new sewing machine with its fancy gadets I was completely overwhelmed. Molly was a great tutor and took me through each of its functions and attatchments not moving on to the next one until I was happy and confident. Thank you Molly without your help and guidence it probably would have stayed in the box unused and unloved."

Molly Brown's Emporium responded:

"It is wonderful to know you and your sewing machine are now firm friends. Many thanks for your feedback."

"Fantastic Christmas gift, I was very much a beginner in this field, I spent one day learning with Ollie and can’t wait to go back and learn more. Carrie & chris James reviewed: Craft Workshop: Learn to make silver art clay jewellery in a day (beginner)

"We have just returned home having had a wonderful and informative workshop with Sally. Great efforts had been made to keep everyone Covid safe and the same attention to detail had been put into ensuring everyone got the most out of their time regardless of confidence or experience. The course allowed us to be creative with our own ideas rather than following a set piece so we all gained knowledge from each other. We highly recommend Sally as an Instructor and fully intend to be back soon for more!"

Craft Workshops responded:

"Thank you - it was great to meet you both and I am really pleased you enjoyed your Workshop. Look forward to seeing you soon. Sally"

Gill Peacock reviewed: Glass fusing workshop - 1 day

"I enjoyed a lovely day with Jill at the fired glass workshop. Jill's studio is very well equipped and her knowledge of glass is encyclopedic. I was interested to see how glass behaves in a workshop and Jill was very kind and patient as I fumbled around trying to fit a minute bee's head onto its body! I was given a lovely lunch in a convivial atmosphere. I would thoroughly recommend the day."

Fired Glass responded:

"Thank you Gill for your review, we are delighted that you enjoyed your day with us. Your bee hives look divine on your piece and well worth the time and effort you put into them. Thanks for recommending us that means a lot to us. Regards John and Jill"

"Wonderfully thought out day course. Perfect for a beginner but one which really helps you hone your skill at crafting a one of a kind piece. Really pleased with the level of teaching Sue was able to offer me in a relaxed and friendly environment. Delighted with the finished product; piece of jewellery I'm really going to treasure. Highly recommend booking one of Sue's courses, whether you're planning on attending solo or with a group of friends. Will definitely look to book again!"

I would definitely recommend this day course to others. Thanks Thea"

Rose James reviewed: Creative coil pots - Introduction

"I hadn't used a sewing machine for 30 years (and don't own one) but Molly was an very patient teacher and gave very clear instructions at every stage. I was absolutely delighted with the coil pot I came away with; really pleased (and surprised!!) with the quality and neatness considering I'd never done anything like this before. I would definitely do the workshop again, I'd like to try to achieve a pot of a different shape."

Molly Brown's Emporium responded:

"Thank you for your lovely comments Rose. So pleased you surprised and delighted. You would be most welcome to make another pot and try a different shape."

Kieran and Emma reviewed: One day silver jewellery designing and making workshop

"We had a busy and exhausting day at Bridget's! She led us through the design process, helping shape our vague ideas into something concrete and realistic. She was upfront about metal costs so we could proceed without any unpleasant surprises. Bridget tutored us through a number of different techniques, one at a time, and giving us plenty of time to practice on scrap metal. Each element of the design was discussed, practiced, then made with attention and care, overseen by Bridget. When we ran out of energy (it's hard work concentrating on something new for so long!) Bridget was there to take over when needed. We are delighted with the end result, and thoroughly recommend the day as a real treat for anyone who wants to make something unique and beautiful of their own."

Bianca Raabe reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"What a fabulous day. Started with cup of tea and then a full explanation of the day ahead. Each item we made was thoroughly explained and support and guidance was easily given. Superb help was given at each stage. Coming away having made a key ring and coat hook was amazing. Lunch was fantastic, delicious and gave energy for the afternoon. The finishing touch of cake was lovely. As a small ‘oldish’ woman I didn’t have high expectations of my abilities but everything was done in a way that exceeded this 100% and I would and will happy go again. I highly recommend this as an experience."

Rowena reviewed: Introduction to fused glass (1 day) in Sheffield, South Yorkshire

"Martin was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout the day, I had an absolutely brilliant time. He provided all the tools and equipment and was happy to offer advice, but he also let you go in your own direction with each piece if you wanted to. The number of pieces you are able to make in one day is brilliant and I would love to do this workshop again! 100% would recommend!"

Sara reviewed: Mid Century Modern Refinishing & Restoration Workshop - All levels - 3 days

"I loved the three days I spent in Ollie's workshop, and especially the beautifully transformed desk that I came away with, the skills, and the newfound confidence it has given me. I’d already done a bit of restoration but I was often getting bewildered by the amount of differing advice you find online about how to tackle different restoration issues. I needed definitive advice and guidance from an expert and I needed to be able to ask questions and that’s exactly what the three days with Ollie will give you. I definitely feel like it might have been a game-changer for my own business and I hope to go back for more! Thanks again Ollie."

Janet Beaumont reviewed: Expressive painting in oils or acrylics

"A very relaxed day with Liz, painting in the lovely courtyard garden behind the studio. As an absolute beginner with no idea what to expect I was made to feel at ease and given gentle guidance whenever I was stuck. There were just five participants, all with different levels of skill, and Liz had time to work with all of us, encouraging us and pointing us in the right direction. I would recommend this course - great therapy, time out of the everyday, and maybe the start of something new."
