Beginners Upholstery Workshop in Warrington, Cheshire - Make a Footstool
Description
Treat Yourself to a 'Me Day' and learn the wonderful craft of upholstery (no previous experience needed). Ideal for complete beginners, or for people who have dabbled in upholstery previously. I'd love to welcome you to one of my one day (10 am to 3 pm) 'Footstool Upholstery Workshops' where you will learn all about the tools, foams, materials, folds, finishings etc. in a relaxed and friendly environment at the gorgeous Grappenhall Heyes Walled Garden, Warrington, Cheshire. Spend the day in the bright and airy schoolroom and glasshouse whilst looking out onto the spectacular gardens. On sunny days, we can get outside! You will be making and upholstering a lovely footstool from scratch in one day to take home with you whilst making some new like minded friends in a relaxed, supportive and beautiful environment. You will learn the basic skills of upholstery and all about the tools and techniques required so you can continue with your own projects at home. You will be able to upholster all kinds of furniture once you have completed the workshop. All you will need to bring is a 1 x 1 metre piece of lovely fabric to cover your footstool. You will be able to choose the style and height of your bun feet and you will paint or wax the bun feet in a colour/shade/style of your choice to complement your fabric. I will be there every step of the way to guide you and take you through the process at your pace. With such a small group, there is plenty of time for one to one discussion. Full workshop notes on techniques, tools and materials and where to buy will be provided. Having taught the workshops for the past five years, my attendees have reported they don't just leave with the skills to continue at home upholstering many different pieces, but they say they have enjoyed a lovely day out from their busy lives and pressures (with lots of chats, laughs, coffee and cake!), they have met some lovely new friends, and have been inspired to continue further with their ongoing creative endeavours. What's included in the price?
All tools, legs/feet and materials to make your footstool are provided and are included in the price except bring a 1m sq piece of your favourite fabric to cover your footstool. Should you need any guidance with this, please get in touch. The price includes lovely homemade cakes, cream scones, tea and coffee throughout the day. Lunch is not included in the price, however, delicious afternoon tea or lunch can be enjoyed on most days in the gorgeous adjoining glass house cafe overlooking the amazing gardens, or please feel free to bring some lunch with you. Parking is available free of charge within the Walled Garden just outside the workshop. Please come in comfortable clothing and ideally an apron (not essential). Also comfortable shoes.
