Hello, we hope you are all well and safe.
We are delighted to announce we are back up and running after the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions and hope you will find our workshops a welcome delight after the very difficult times we have all had.
Learn the wonderful craft of upholstery (no previous experience needed) by making and upholstering a lovely footstool from scratch in one day to take home with you whilst make some new like minded friends in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Come along to one of our one day (10am to 3pm) fun and friendly Upholstery Workshops in the gorgeous town of Poynton, Stockport. The workshop will be held in one of the lovely bright and airy rooms within 'The Centre' historic building.
The workshops are from 10am to 3pm (5 hours). A small group of no more than 6, therefore you will receive one to one instruction for much of the time.
Ideal for complete beginners, or for people who have dabbled in upholstery previously. You will learn how to make and upholster a gorgeous footstool from scratch (and to paint or wax the bun feet in a colour / shade / style / height of your choice to complement your fabric). You will finish the footstool during the day and be able to take it home with you to enjoy.
Full workshop notes will be provided.
We are extremely proud of the lovely reviews we have received from people attending previous workshops. Please take a look in The Boho Shed review section.
N.B. Please note Poynton is a new venue for us, and the reviews mentioned for this course refer to exactly the same course previously (and currently also) held at Cuerden View Cafe in Preston.
I look forward to meeting you and to spending an enjoyable and creative day with you.
We also run Furniture Painting Workshops - Level 1 (for beginners/intermediates) & Level 2 (for people wanting to expand their skills further). Please see our other 'The Boho Shed' course listings here on the Craft Courses site.

Fantastic footstool course this week, great instruction by Jo and lots of individual support throughout the day. Well organised and easy to follow instructions. Friendly atmosphere that made it a relaxing day and very pleased with my footstool
Thanks Jo, one of the best craft courses I have done
Response from The Boho Shed:Wow Di! What a compliment, thank you so very much! You all made it a special day. Looking forward to seeing you again in November. :-)
I attended the course this week and have been telling everyone about it since! I had a fantastic day making my footstool, eating cakes and chatting to others on the course. Jo is a thorough tutor and is on hand to offer advice and expertise while you make your footstool. I’d highly recommend the course to anyone with an interest in crafting or upholstery. The skills I learned this week will enable me to tackle other upholstery projects, not just footstools
Response from The Boho Shed:Thank you for your kind words Amy, I'm really pleased you got so much out of the workshop and look forward to seeing your creations in future. Thanks again for your help too with your IT advice etc! Very much appreciated.
Had a great day at The Boho Shed.
Jo immediately puts you at ease and goes through each stage clearly, giving as much or as little help as required.
I love my footstool and can't wait to make another one!
I would highly recommend a visit to Jo and The Boho Shed.

Had a fab day today, lovely meeting people with the same interest. Jo was amazing and explained everything to us stage by stage. I keep looking at my footstool and thinking I can't believe I made that!! Had loads of compliments from family and friends and would highly recommend this workshop.
Response from The Boho Shed:Thank you so much for your lovely comments Julie. It's so satisfying for me to show you how to make something from scratch and see your delighted faces at the finished product. I look forward to seeing you at the Painting Workshop in August.
Lovely day with lovely friendly people at the footstool upholstery workshop today, this is my first class with Jo and it was most enjoyable, highly recommended.
Response from The Boho Shed:It was a pleasure to have you and your lovely Mum at the workshop Vicki. Having such lovely attendees makes the day a great one. I am delighted you enjoyed it. Me too!
The upholstery workshop was my second workshop with Joanne and it was great. Its amazing to think that the piece of fabric you take with you on the day, can be transformed into a little footstool! Thank you again for another great workshop :).
Response from The Boho Shed:What a lovely group you all were. Such an enjoyable day for me too. So satisfying to see you all leave happy with your gorgeous footstools.
