"I took part in Jo's upholstery beginners' course and this was my first time doing this type of art work. It was a great class, where Jo provided us with amazing tips and I finished the class with a lovely step-stool to bring back home. Jo is absolutely lovely, patient, and full of knowledge to share with her students. I would recommend her class for anyone who wants to try something new. Thank you Jo, and oh I almost forgot about the delicious cakes!"

It also gives me something to focus on as I approach retirement. "Such a fantastic course! It is really informative and we covered so many basics including DIY repairs, basic plumbing and electricals and painting and decorating. I feel much more confident having a go at these jobs at home now rather than paying money to get someone external in. Jo is really knowledgeable and friendly and the whole day felt a very welcoming safe space which I was grateful for. Highly recommend! "

Jo is such a good teacher, she explains things so clearly, demonstrates each step and helps you if you need it. We were a group of 9 and had such a laugh all day. "What a wonderful day at the Boho Shed upholstery session with Jo. I learnt so much from Jo who was so knowledgeable and had time for everyone who needed assistance, advice or any questions answered. There were plenty of tips to help me with my upholstery in the future. The location and setting was brilliant with a fabulous restaurant attached to the workshop selling homemade food that was delicious. Jo also provided tea and homemade yummy cakes. The rest of the group who attended were lovely with lots of lighthearted banter, laughs and fun. I would strongly recommend signing up for the upholstery course for the day with Jo at the Boho Shed, whether you’re just starting out with upholstery or curious to find out what it’s all about. "This course is brilliant! I knew very little about DIY before it but I feel confident enough to tackle many jobs I’ve previously paid people to do for me. I’ve always been intimidated by a drill but not now. I can confidently put up shelves, hang pictures and probably a lot more jobs involving a drill. Jo is a lovely patient teacher who ensures everyone leaves satisfied. I fully recommend it to anyone who’s always thought DIY wasn’t for them."

"What an excellent day out, I haven’t enjoyed myself so much for an age! We started the day with all the ladies on the workshop chatting and introducing themselves and then Jo offered us wonderful home made scones with jam and cream or home made delicious chocolate cake, made by her mother. Tea and coffee and biscuits were freely available all day long for anyone to help themselves. Jo is very kind and patient and is an extremely talented lady. First things were a walk through of the process, showing us the stages of making the foot stool, which we then went back through step by step as we carried out construction of our amazing little foot stools. We painted/waxed our wooden feet and then started to layer up the foam and filling before we broke for lunch. As we worked through the steps, Jo would use each of our footstools as examples to show us what to do next. The delight we all felt when we finally got to put our fabric on the footstool was showing in all our faces. We were so proud of what we had made The ladies on the course all got on well and it was an excellent fun day. Jo gave us clear instruction and was only too happy to help anyone of us if we needed it. My footstool turned out so much better than I thought it would. I would certainly recommend this workshop for a great day out to meet new people and most importantly to meet Jo and take her instruction in making a gorgeous footstool. Anyone who isn’t sure should take this as a ‘definitely go do it’ Thank you Jo, for a fabulous day!"

"I attended an upholstery workshop with Jo in the Boho Shed, Billinge on Thursday 1st December 2022 and had a thoroughly fantastic day Jo is an excellent instructor in that she explained all the steps in the process in great detail, sharing her 'tips' along the way as we came to more technical stages. She helped us individually as and when we needed her, answered our many questions along the way until all of us produced our unique and beautiful footstools. To say we had a laugh along the way would be an understatement but, the other 3 ladies and I just seemed to 'gel' with each other and Jo. A plentiful supply of delicious homemade cakes, courtesy of Jo's Mum and teas & coffees made for a perfect educational day. Thank you, Jo, for your patience and expert guidance. "

"Attended a course at Grappenhall Heys on 3.12.22 and it was just as Jo described. A perfect day at a relaxed pace with like-minded people learning really valuable techniques. Perfect for complete beginners and Jo is a very good teacher. I already feel ready to do my own straightforward projects at home. A beautiful setting and the cake, drinks and cafe lunch (reasonable price) definitely helped! Thanks Jo :-)"
