"This course was so different to other craft courses I have done. It was really relaxed and the setting was beautiful. I really felt like the priority was to chill for the day, which I really valued. Jo offered delicious home made cakes and a really warm welcome. I learnt so much about upholstery and others who were not beginners also learnt new techniques and methods. Jo creates a very inclusive learning environment and gives everyone guidance. However, I felt like we were all free to follow our own ideas too and the end products all looked so different! Would recommend this without doubt to anyone wanting to learn about upholstery. I had a really positive and memorable day. Thank you Jo! "

"Brilliant course with a lovely lady. Everything explained in detail and good to use the tools in a safe environment rather than struggling on your own. "Really excellent, particularly for those like me who had really zero skills with DIY. Skill level up 100%. Confidence up 100%. Jo is a very relaxed tutor and made us all feel at our ease. Would be great to have an intermediate and advanced DIY course. More men should do this course and not leave it all to partners as I did. Not anymore! Will look to do another of the available courses."

"Recently I attended Joanne’s furniture painting workshop at the lovely location of Grappenhall Heys. Joanne's workshop is fun, hands on and really informative. As a complete beginner to upcycling furniture, I had a lot of questions which Joanne answered fully and completely. Joanne is the friendliest of teachers and has a vast knowledge about the subject. She individually encouraged and supported each member of the class, when it came to actually working on our chosen pieces of furniture. The day was really enjoyable and very productive, as Joanne ensured each class member was able to transform their furniture using the painting techniques learnt in the workshop. I would recommend Joanne’s workshop to any novice upcycling enthusiast, you'll have a great day."

"Relaxed atmosphere. No question too stupid. So practical. As a result I went home and had confidence to take mouldy caulk off windows & re caulked beautifully. I redid caulking around shower, redecorated room & knew to use decorators caulk AND drilled new curtain rails in and a shelf. So proud"
