"Hey everyone, I can't lie here and my experience of this DIY course led by Jo was also the same as someone else on the course.
This course is NOT worth £170. It's an absolute rip-off and scam. Whatever is "taught" on the day is stuff we already know and can easily YouTube. Save your money and put it towards something else. Think about it. 5 hours for £170?! She doesn't even cover all of the material. It's barely practical. She doesn't even have all the resources. There's no proper structure to the day and she wings most of it. She's done a bit of DIY around her house but it doesn't qualify her to teach or even charge such a ridiculous amount. Buy yourself a set of tools, get some planks of wood and practice in your own homes. Throughout the day, we repeatedly had to finish her sentences because she didn't know what she was talking about and she repeatedly said "she's not expert and asked the other attendees for help". The lady next to me knew more than her.
This is an honest review. I don't mean to be disrespectful but this review is to ensure no one else wastes that amount of money for a course led by someone who doesn't know what she's talking about."
The Boho Shed responded:
"I feel very sad and disappointed to read that my workshop did not meet the expectations of this young man and that he felt the need to leave such a strongly worded negative review.
My aim with every workshop is for participants to feel welcomed, supported, and to leave with increased knowledge, confidence and the inspiration to take on their own DIY projects at home with my ongoing support if required, in addition to creating a friendly and relaxed learning environment to ensure each participant enjoys the day as much as possible. Thus I am delighted to have received 100% 5 star reviews relating to the content, teaching style and overall experience from all other participants attending and choosing to leave a review, not only for this particular course on the same day but for all the other courses I provide across all the venues at which I teach.
With over 25 years of professional property renovation experience and having taught my creative workshops for almost 8 years, I have carefully structured this course to provide clear explanations and demonstrations with full hands on and practical exercises for attendees throughout the day, together with the provision of detailed printed notes and diagrams for them to take home with them on completion of the course.
I always encourage participants to ask as many questions as possible throughout the day and to share ideas with each other both during and after the workshop to ensure everyone achieves as much knowledge and confidence as possible from the course. I welcome constructive feedback to enable me to continually mould and improve my courses to suit my participants’ needs to the max, however it is important that this is done kindly and considerately. On this occasion, the way dissatisfaction was expressed during the day together with the late arrival of this young man and an exit before the course was completed unfortunately affected the atmosphere for other participants who were otherwise enjoying their day.
I do hope you learned at least some DIY from the course Sahil and I hope the printed handout notes you took home with you will be of some help to you ongoing. In any case I wish you well on your DIY journey. "
