X

Description

Arrive at the Woodland Studio at 10.30am, we will have tea/coffee and biscuits and talk through the day. We will go over tools and processes used, discuss designs, patterns and finishes. Then we will saw a section of the jeweller’s wax for each person to start their own carving. We will have a hot drink and biscuit break at about 11.30. We will then continue to work on our carvings, it’s all about thinking how you want the finished ring to look. I will be on hand to guide, mentor and assist you throughout the day. We will stop for lunch at about 1pm for 45 minutes and you can take this chance to sit on the patio and enjoy the lovely woodland setting of the studio. When we come back from lunch we will continue our carving, making sure the ring is the right size for your finger or if it is for someone else that you have an accurate measurement of their finger size. We will have another hot drink and biscuit break in the afternoon to keep the creative momentum going! We will then check our wax carvings to make sure the size is correct and the finish is exactly what you wanted to achieve. After you leave at 3pm I will then get your ring cast in sterling silver and polish your rings and either post them to you or you can collect them a few days later.

What's included in the price?

Morning and afternoon refreshments, fresh home made lunch, all tools, equipment and tuition. Casting of a ring or pendant up to a certain weight and size, in sterling silver. If you decide to make a really chunky ring or pendant I will ask you to make up the difference. Discuss on the day :)

I am a third generation artist, I follow in the footsteps of my grandfather and mum. I first began painting in oils when I wanted a picture of my lovely lurcher, I had lots of photos of him but none were quite good enough, so I decided to have a go at doing a painting of him! It turned out really well and I had got the bug. My first love in painting is wildlife, I get so excited when I see an image or scene of animals, I just can’t wait to start painting it!
