Description:

Silver jewellery making class for groups of 2 people (£75 per person) Class will begin with an introduction to the tools and workshop machinery used during the day and a safety briefing. Students will then design their own unique piece of jewellery on paper and will then learn to cut the silver with a fret saw (practice with copper and then move onto silver), soldering tuition as needed, pickling and then polishing using a polishing machine or tumbler. Finally the student will put their piece together to make a complete and unique jewellery piece.

What's included in the price?

All equipment and materials will be supplied to make one piece of jewellery per person. Extra materials will be available on the day at additional cost.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but if the class covers a lunch period a packed lunch will be required as there are no shops locally.

Want to review this course?

I was privileged to be one of Sandra's first students.
The day covered a lot of information which Sandra has obviously put a lot of thought, time and effort into learning in order to pass this on.

But it wasn’t just about the new knowledge I gained. The main benefits came from actually creating a piece, receiving individual feedback and interacting with Sandra about ideas and techniques.
This day gave me a much firmer appreciation of the jewellery making process, especially when Sandra was thrilled when I finally broke a saw blade. (Apparently this is very common). I made some lovely pieces that day which a friend wore for her wedding. I would highly recommend this course. Sandra is a great teacher a wonderful mentor, but ultimately a superb silversmith!
