Beginners silversmithing workshop

Description

Come and have a go at working with sterling silver. You will have a choice of making a couple of slim stacker rings, a pair of simple earrings or a pendant. I will show you how to texture, anneal, solder, form and polish your chosen project. IMPORTANT - Please arrive promptly at the arranged start time. You are welcome to arrive 10 minutes early. I aim to reply to your messages within 24 hours so if you can't find my reply please check your junk mail. A bit about me: I just love working with all sorts crafts, designing DIY bespoke pieces for the home and I try to upcycle as much as possible to be kinder to our planet and produce beautiful handcrafted bespoke pieces. I studied Art and Design over 25 years ago at my local college, then became a member of the North Staffs Guilds of Craftsmen where I had the opportunity to display my work as well as give demonstrations. I am a fully qualified tutor and am keen to 'boost up' your creative skills in this most enjoyable craft. What's included in the price?

Small amount of 925 sterling silver wire. Additional silver is available to purchase on the day depending on what you decide to make. Use of all tools including torches, solder, pliers drill, etc. Refreshments.

Kami is enthusiastic and knowledgeable in the art and techniques of working precious metals (and many other crafts) and will lead and encourage you to make something unique to you. In the process you will learn how to shape silver through rolling and forming, how to make strong solder joints and how to bring your creation to a bright and polished finish. This is a very hands-on course and the time passes quickly, whether you make a ring, a pendant or something else you will go away with your creation and an appreciation of the tools and skills needed to make more.
