About the Course

This is a one day Silver Jewellery workshop can be run on either a weekday or weekend, whatever suits your needs.

The workshop is for beginners, or people that have a small amount of experience who wish to develop their skills.

The day will include an introduction to the tools in the workshop, that will be used throughout the day and Health and Safety procedures will be discussed.

The course is usually run on a 1 to 1 basis, but I can have a maximum of 2 students on any one day. This gives the student a more thorough designing and making experience than you would get from a large class.

We will discuss the design that you wish to achieve and develop this design into a unique piece of jewellery. Techniques will be taught, such as how to cut, shape and solder silver, if your design requires it. Finishing and polishing will also be included.

You will be encouraged to use your imagination in designing and making your own piece of Jewellery. Prior to the day I will need to know your design ideas, which will then enable me to order in the Sterling Silver that you will need to make your design.

Metal can be purchased on the day at an extra cost, this will be charged at the daily rate. If any jewellery findings or chains are required, these can be purchased also. Good quality jewellery boxes are available to purchase, if you require them for your piece of work. (No recycled metal, such as old jewellery, that is no longer worn etc, can be used on the day)

Prior to your chosen date, for the workshop, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the day is required to secure the workshop date. Discounts are offered for 'block bookings' and returning students. If you are only to attend for a few hours in the day rather than a full day the charge is £25.00 per hour, 50% of which is payable in advance.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

All my tools and equipment will be at the disposal of the student.

Drinks and biscuits are provided but please provide your own packed lunch

We would highly recommend the silversmiths day with Bridget. It has been a really interesting way to learn new skills, get creative and make a unique item for yourself, partner, family member or friend . It will also make it all the more memorable for the person you give it to, adding that personal touch.
Bridget was welcoming and friendly and made us feel at ease quickly whilst being great at teaching too!!

Response from Bridget Bradshaw Designs:

Thankyou so much for your review.
It is very much appreciated.
You were both a delight to meet and showed some great silversmithing skills.
It was a pleasure for me to be able to help you bring your designs ideas to life..and to see the sence of achievment made my day with you both worth while.
Your both welcome back anytime you wish.
Kind Regards

I had a fantastic day making a pendant with Bridget.

Before the course Bridget was very clear about what the day would entail, and ensuring that she had everything needed to make my design.

Bridget is a dedicated teacher and really took the time to talk through options for shaping and finishing the silver, and showed lots of her own work to demonstrate techniques.

I would really recommend this course. Thank you for a lovely day Bridget.

I had a great day with Bridgett. I was a complete novice when it came to silver smithing, every step was explained clearly and enable me to leave with a piece of jewellery that I can wear immediately.
Bridgett has a lovely personality and is a wealth of knowledge and useful information regarding her craft, plus so much more.
Bridgett is a great designer and teacher and I would highly recommend booking some time to learn a new skill or build on previous knowledge.

Bought a friend a voucher for a silver jewellery making day with Bridget. We went together. Bridget was extremely patient, calm and made the day so very enjoyable. Bridget showed us both varying techniques involved in making our two, very personal and unique pieces of jewellery. Couldn't recommend Bridget enough and we will certainly be going again in tje near future to complete another piece.

A great day learning in Bridget's workshop - she is very talented and a good teacher too. I came away with two lovely and unique pieces of jewellery. A most enjoyable experience which I would recommend to anyone.

A real privelege to spend a day in Bridget's company. I thoroughly enjoyed learning some basic skills from someone who is obviously skilled in design and jewellery making and a very generous teacher. I particularly enjoyed seeing the different things she has produced as examples of the types of skills I was being introduced to. I came away with some lovely pieces that I will treasure and a lot of different experience for the relatively small time I was with her. A lovely day I would thoroughly recommend!
