Fascinator making Birmingham millinery workshop

About the Course

Exploring creativity has never been so important as it is right now! Being so good for well-being, all arts and crafts are so good for us, not to mention fun and satisfying too!

Come along to explore this amazing material called sinamay and all its wonderful possibilities.

Create your very own fascinator in this one day workshop in my home studio in Kings Heath, Birmingham. And not just hats, this material can be really effective in home decor too!

You can learn lots of techniques using this fabulous, plant-based material, available in loads of gorgeous colours.

You can learn how to make:
- Roses
- Lillies
- Bows & loops
- Leaves
- Buttercups
- 'Feathers'

Never sewn before? No problem! I'll be there every step of the way to instruct and guide you. Want to make a fascinator in a particular colour? No problem! Just let me know at least 7 days in advance and I can make sure you have just the colours you like.

In the current circumstances, I am now offering one-to-one tuition for the standard group price. I can also fit up to 3 people in the studio if you are together.

Suitable for beginners. Booking in advance is essential.

If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

All materials and equipment are included plus a hat box to take your creations home with you!

About the venue: There is space for one car on the drive, and on-street parking just outside. Tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits will be available on the day, but you will need to bring lunch with you.

I have visors available for you to wear, which I find are much better to see when you are working close up, and more pleasant to wear all day.
You will have all your own equipment to use, cleaned and prepared for your arrival.
Hand sanitiser will be readily available. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make you feel comfortable and confident.

Me and my mum attended one of Rachel’s Fascinator workshop, and it was amazing! Rachel’s knowledge, skill, creativity and patience is second to none. First half of the day was learning lots of different techniques and the afternoon creating our fascinators!

There was such a great array of material and choice and Rachel was extremely helpful with everything.

Highly recommend and a huge thank you for such a lovely day x

I just loved this workshop. It was relaxed but we still learned so much. Rachel was friendly, knowledgeable, patient and full of ideas and suggestions. She obviously loves what she does, and we all got caught up in that. The day flew by, I just loved it. I would highly recommend this - and all of Rachel's workshops, and I will definitely be going to more of them.

I thoroughly enjoyed my day at Warrillow Studios. In the well equipped workshop, bursting with inspiration from Rachel’s masterpieces on display, I learnt numerous techniques, which I used to create my own fascinator. Rachel was friendly and knowledgeable and I left with all the information and skills needed to continue to make my own creations at home.

We all had a great day last Saturday (7th Sept) in Leeds. Rachel, is a fantastic instructor and created a lovely cohesive, relaxing atmosphere to learn and create.
I have never worked with sinamay before, or made flowers. But on the day I was able create a finished fascinator, which I am happy to wear. I now have the confidence and information to create many more, knowing Rachel is on hand by email.
Thank you Rachel.
I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested.
