Have you ever heard of The North East textile technique of proggy or clippy? No! If you would like to learn a new craft, then this new craft kit designed by MHW Millinery contains everything you need to make your own tartan ruffle corsage style flower, using clippy – which is also known as rag rugging – techniques and also introduces you to some basic millinery ones too.
The finished flower corsage is made from Lochcarron of Scotland tartan and measures 3.5 – 4″/ 8-10cm. It features a contrasting half bow in millinery petersham (not the full bow pictured in the finished examples).
The finished flower corsage may be worn as a brooch or pinned to your winter hat or coat. The lipstick pink beret features flower F, the red beret features flower A, and the single flower is flower H.
With just the addition of a few basic pieces of equipment that you will find around the house, you will be able to explore my modern interpretation of the technique known as rag-rugging, clippy or proggy matting. This kit has been designed for adults and children over 12 (with supervision) as the construction of the flower includes the use of a pair of scissors, steam iron and the application of glue. The skill level is: beginners - it is quite fiddly, to begin with, but you will quickly get the hang of it!
There is a choice of eight colourways of flower each with its own co-ordinating half-bow trim. Please include the reference letter for your colour option in the notes when placing your order.
Buying the kit as a gift? I can send the kit direct to the recipient, just enter their delivery address at checkout. If you would like me to include a message, too, please make a note in the comments section and of course, I will not include price details in the package.
UK despatch via Royal Mail First Class Post is included, the kit is securely packed in tissue paper in a "large letter" posting box. The box can also be gift wrapped and a personalised card added - please include the address of the recipient and the card details in the comments box - if you would like this item sent direct. Hello LaurenceI chose my colour combination and it is perfect for my jacket. I received this kit and completed it in less than an hour. I am so pleased with my brooch. Excellent product. The purchase form needs to be updated so that you can put your colour choices on the form. This would eliminate the emails that are required to sort this out. The seller is super efficient and wants to you to get your product ASAP, but I don't read my email daily, so any delay in getting your product is caused by this.
