Description

Virna loves to share her knowledge and passion for her craft and offers a range of workshops for those wishing to explore the world of millinery.

Inspiring for all levels, whether as a beginner, extending your existing knowledge or just to try something new.

On this two-day Felt Hat Workshop, you will learn how to block, shape and manipulate wool felt. You can choose to block a brimmed hat such as Fedora or Trilby.

You will also learn how to wire a hat to ensure it holds its shape, how to curve a Petersham ribbon and invisibly stitch it into your hat.

After blocking your hat you will proceed on learning trimming and decorating. You will be introduced to techniques such as creating felt flowers, twists and leaves, stitching a veil and much more.

By the end of the workshop, you will gain invaluable millinery skills and leave with your very own felt hat.

My sister gifted me a voucher for one of Virna’s classes just before the lockdown.
I contacted her in advance saying that I wanted to make a felt cocktail hat and she send me a moodboard and designed a whole class just for myself which made me feel very special. I spent a wonderful day, I learned how to sew for the first time and came home with the most adorable headpiece. I am planning to attend another of Virna’s classes and I cannot recommend her enough. She’s so passionate and knowledgeable about millinery, very patient and just a pleasure to be with. Thank you Virna!

I spent a wonderful day with Virna she is very talented and extremely passionate about her craft, her studio was very welcoming and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I learnt lots of new things at the workshop which has really helped me to improve my headdress and millinery skills. I would not hesitate to join Virna again at workshops in the future . I cannot recommend this young lady enough, she is amazing.
