Contemporary millinery workshops- Fabric covered cocktail hat

Description

In this full-day workshop, you will learn how to block a button shape in either buckram or thermoplastic. How to wire the hat to ensure it holds its shape, how to cover the shape in fabrics and how to curve a Petersham ribbon and invisibly stitch it into your hat. After your shape is nicely covered with the fabric you will proceed on learning trimming and decorating. You will be introduced to techniques such as feather manipulation, veiling and much more. By the end of the workshop, you will gain invaluable millinery skills and leave with your very own cocktail hat. ​ All materials will be provided but we'll encourage you to bring your own fabric to make sure you are totally going to love your hat. This workshop is suitable for beginners and intermediates.

All materials and equipment. We encourage you to bring your own fabric. 50cm is more than enough.
