About the Course
On this two-day felt hat course you will learn how to block, shape and manipulate wool felt. You can choose to block a brim hat such as Fedora or Trilby or you can chose to block a smaller hat such as a pillbox, beret or fascinator. You will also learn how to wire a hat to ensure it holds its shape, how to curve a petersham ribbon and invisibly stitch into your hat.
After blocking a hat you will proceed onto learning trimming and decorating. You will be introduced to techniques such as creating felt flowers, twists and leaves, stitching a veil and much more.
By the end of the workshop you will gain invaluable millinery skills and leave with a finished hat you created yourself.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and intermediates.

I had a wicked 2 days with Elena learning how to make a fedora hat - she was really great at demonstrating how to do things and even went the extra to tell me about alternate ways to block/decorate the hats. She’s also really talented so you are in very very very good hands 🙏✨

I attended the two days felt hat workshop and it was a fabulous experience. Elena is a wonderful artist, fantastic teacher and creative milliner, a real pleasure to be trained by a generous and talented woman! I learned about hat blocking, trimming, decorating and much more. Elena tailored the course to suit my needs. I absolutely loved the course, and feel that I now know enough to start making myself! Highly recommended!
