Course Start DatesSaturday 11th April 2020
About the Course
This workshop is a great way to get involved in fused glass if you are nervous about cutting glass. During the workshop you will use glass frit to create a beautiful colourful fused glass dish.
Jane will demonstrate how to use the tools and equipment safely. Then using and layering smashed glass and frit, you will be able to apply a bold colourful design.
Your pieces will need to be fired over night, but will be available for collection a few days after the course. Or they can be posted for a small additional postage fee.
The class is made even more enjoyable simply by the setting. The Glass Quarter Designs studio is well equipped, and has an inspiring, creative atmosphere and of course is based at the wonderful Red House Glass Cone. You could have lunch sitting by the canal or try our on site cafe. Take a walk around the beautiful historic building and visit the numerous other craft studios on site.

This course was amazing! It was my first attempt at doing anything to do with glass, I'd been wanting to try something for a while and it did not disappoint.
Jane and her helper were amazing with teaching us about cutting glass, giving advice and making us all feel relaxed and creative so that we could make something unique. Brilliant day.
The studio was amazing and in a brilliant location, with lots of other arty shops and studios to look around afterwards. Will definitely be going back and would highly recommend!

Did this course today and had a blast. Shown how to cut glass, ways of using coloured glass and moulds of different shapes. The glass was in every colour you could think of and possibilities of design endless. I made a couple of pieces and really pleased with my end results and looking forward to my work once fired.
Jane and her co-helper were very helpful, patient and created a wonderfully relaxed environment. A great way to treat yourself and made something beautiful.

What an excellent course. I made a few things that I was really pleased with. It was such a relaxed atmosphere and I was made so welcome. My tutor had tons of patience with me and her enthusiasm was infectious. If you want to learn something new and make some beautiful things, then this is the course for you!
