Melanie Smith reviewed: One to one photographic tuition London - Online

"This has to got to be the best money I've spent on photography. The one to one tuition was spot on and Richard's guidance was clear and understanding. Basically I was thrilled with the whole thing. Not only is it affordable as a treat, it's also a must if, like me, you want to leap forward in your photography."

Trudy reviewed: Art & Craft Days - Easter Bunny Pin Cushion-Needlefelting Two Half Day Workshops

"Never undertaking felting before or knowing the trainer you never know what the outcome will be. However the whole experience was better than expected, lots of laughs and banter as our bunnies took shape! There were seven of us, not all friends at the start and only 2 with any experience, but this was not a problem Lana the course trainer explained the process in full and had so much patience. Lana gave one to one support where needed and gave positive feedback to encourage you. She is very knowledgeable in the art of felting and was in no hurry to finish the sessions, allowing you time to complete your project. `By the end of the course we all wanted more and all looked forward to the next course and meeting again. This course is definitely a must and value for money. All kit etc supplied and along with great refreshments Well done"

Barbara reviewed: A rustic chair making weekend

"Its hard to say just how amazing the Hedge Chair course was; I really didn't know what to expect but having seen the workshop when visiting the shop, I just knew I had to do it. The tuition was so careful and personally focussed - Eoin and Gail are very special teachers - and the general atmosphere of creativity and joy in making, was truly inspiring, I learned so much, so quickly. Also, the weather was as promised, spectacular! To take home a real chair after two days - having started with just a big log, was so satisfying. Now, I can't wait to come back. I think you might have started something! Thanks Barbara"

D. Cheung reviewed: Bees for Development Sustainable Beekeeping Weekend Courses 2024

"I'd not made a skep before and often wondered about their construction. I'm no expert but Chris Park is and having done the course in conjunction with Bees for Development, I feel confident about making straw skeps. During the day's tuition, some on a group basis; and some one-to-one as and when needed with helpful pointers from Chris. The course progresses from a bunch of people from various backgrounds and varied experience, some already beekeepers, some not. To an informal yet friendly group, all busy making skeps before the very tasty lunch, (suitable for veggies) and continuing to "feed the feeder" thereafter. Chris is very knowledgeable about all things skep and the history of beekeeping & honey harvesting. A very interesting man to spend time with and to learn from. An amiable soul with a quiet confidence and energy. Who is easy to be with and who'll make you feel at ease, before and during your day of skep making. I'd highly recommend a course tutored by Chris, even if you don't keep bees but especially if you do. And getting to spend time with a few of the very knowledgeable people of Bees for Development was the icing on the cake."

Julie Hayes reviewed: Fused Glass Workshops for beginners & experienced

"I had a brilliant experience at Ali's SmARTsy glass fusion day. I was a complete beginner, having received a craft course voucher as a present from a friend. Ali talked us through tools and materials and showed us examples. We were then able to have a go at making different pieces. I was totally absorbed in assembling patterns of coloured glass on my coaster and panels, and am looking forward to seeing the results when they ate out of the kiln. Very enjoyable. Would recommend it highly. Thank you."

Iain Laurie reviewed: Fused Glass Workshops for beginners & experienced

"We had a really excellent day doing glass fusion. Lovely place, great teaching, very nice people and got to make 5 coasters and a bowl. I bought it for my wife as a Christmas present, and I can recommend doing this as a gift for someone, she loved it and we have some beautiful items to show for it, plus some less beautiful ones that I made. Thrilled with the whole thing."

Tarl Bruton reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"Nigel flawlessly managed to teach three of us at once, the smoothness of his teaching allowed for all three of us to learn the basics then make four very different things (each) in one day. Personally, Nigel was very welcoming, a super interesting guy with a myriad of amazing and quirky stories that he wove seamlessly in with teaching us. The grounds of the forge were beautiful too, peacocks watched me from the trees as I went exploring over the stream and through the woods, looking out for all the weird and wonderful creations Nigel has made over the years. I will definitely be coming back, either to learn more skills or just to stay in one of the beautiful Shepherd's Huts. Either one alone is more than worth it!"

Melanie Towne reviewed: Basic to advanced knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"Ann kindly arrived early when we rang to say we had ordered food earlier than expected. The venue is special - we sat in the old arcade at a table belonging a vintage tea shop. Ann has a lovely relaxed style of teaching which encouraged and gave confidence to my daughter who was very happy with her own progress. She soon learnt to recognise and often correct her own mistakes which is a very important and positive step as it enables the pupil to continue to develop skills when practicing alone. I am looking forward to some crocheted presents. Many thanks, Melanie"

David Owen reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I have been turning for just over a year, self-taught and was given a day course with Mark as a birthday gift. It was an excellent day. Mark showed me how to sharpen my tools properly and how to use them, and, importantly, how not to use them! All information was also given as a printed handout which is really useful as there is so much to take in. I feel I learned a great deal and would recommend the day to anyone, whatever level their turning as Mark will tailor the day to what you want from it."
