Introduction to candle-making as a business
Description
Multi award-winning introduction to candle-making as a business run by Candlemaker of the Year 2020/21/22 If you even need a clincher after all that, then lunch is included in this amazingly good value professional workshop. This class is designed for total beginners, or those just starting out. It is beneficial for anyone considering starting a candle-making business, giving you the tools to go away and start the experimenting you will need to do to make your business a success. The workshop is held in a studio located in the stunning village of Lavenham, a medieval wool town, with stunning chocolate box cottages and independent shops. This course focuses on the art of soy wax candle-making, but does include a brief foray into paraffin wax. It includes an introduction to materials, waxes/wicks/cores and containers. We cover the description of commonly used waxes, how to measure the correct quantities, perfume and their effects, pour temperatures and how to fix surface problems. The course will also explain the recent legislation changes and the CLP information that is required in order to sell your candles. During the workshop, you will make and take away with you 1 x 100cl tin, 1 x 30cl glass, 1 x 3 wick candle, 2 x snapbars/melts. . These are valued at over £80.. We do not make tea-cup candles (these are completely unsafe and generally uninsurable) and we don't add botanicals to our candles - for the same reason. I tend to have a maximum of 3 students.
