Course Start DatesSaturday 29th February 2020
About the Course
Whether you are a complete beginner or have some previous experience with enamelling this course will give you new skills and ideas. With a small group size, individual students can work on different techniques at their own pace. New techniques will be explained to the group or individually depending on the needs of students and you will come away with a range of your own unique pieces of work.
You will work with a range of techniques to decorate your pieces of copper and can make up to 8 pieces of work, selecting from a range of copper in different shapes and sizes. The selection of copper sizes vary from smaller jewellery pieces up to 75mm by 75mm panels which are great for more creative artwork.
Among some of the things you will work with are:
- Use stencils to create lovely designs with enamel powder.
- Work with gold and silver leaf
- Work with metal wire to create patterns within the enamel
- Apply dichroic decals of your own shapes
- Draw designs with pencil on your fired enamel
The final technique of the day will be experienced by all students as this is a fun and exciting finish to a great day of learning and creativity. This final technique will be to prepare a piece and then scroll through your enamelled design fired at higher temperature than worked with earlier in the day.

Had a fabulous day enamelling with Genevieve and two other really nice pupils. Genevieve's passion came through in her teaching and she puts everything into what she does. Her joining instructions were excellent. Her facilities and stock were perfect for what we were doing. Lunch was five star as well. If you are a bit nervous of using kilns - don’t be. It was a safe environment. I came away with some lovely pieces and I’m definitely going to go again. Thank you Genevieve.

Response from Wicked Gen Crafts:Thank you for such lovely feedback. Having an enthusiastic group of students makes my life as a tutor so much fun and I loved the day too. You made some lovely pieces of work which you should be very proud of. I look forward to having you back for some more creativity.
I really enjoyed my day spent enamelling with Gen. Gen has a large range of resources to work with and is really enthusiastic and encouraging with her students, which was perfect for me as a newbie to enamelling. Thanks Gen for making me feel welcome in your studio and keeping me fed and watered throughout the day.

Really enjoyed my day learning the basics of enamelling. Gen provided excellent tuition and had lots of materials and supplies for me to experiment. She demonstrated various techniques for creating patterns and was on hand to help if I got stuck. Lunch was delicious too! Had a wonderful creative day and came home with lots of lovely work
