Come and join me for an enamelling workshop from my studio in the beautiful Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, and experience the ancient craft of enamelling on copper.
Make your own kiln fired enamelled creations, these may include pendants, earrings, brooches, cufflinks, key rings, plaques and pictures all taken home that same day.
With step-by-step guidance and tuition I will demonstrate each stage as you progress, and offer one-to-one guidance where appropriate. All workshops are suitable for complete beginners or those that would like to further their experience.
I keep my workshop size to a maximum of 6 students so I can give everyone plenty of my time.
Enamelling is thought to go back some 3500 years and although now done with modern equipment, these wonderful processes can be incredibly addictive and even with just a small amount of time you will be amazed at what you can achieve.
For those of you returning to do more with me, you may want to come with a project in mind, or simply want to try new techniques. You are welcome to discuss this with me when booking.
I have set workshop dates, but I am also happy to book bespoke dates and times to suit individuals or groups.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
All tuition, tools and materials are provided.

Myself and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed our half day enamelling with Katie yesterday. Being complete novices, we were carefully and effectively guided through a truly creative experience and we both come away with 2 pieces we designed and made ourselves! It was a lovely gentle atmosphere and the time flew by. I would be very keen to do the same all over again! Thank you, Katie.
I had such a fun and informative day today amid the beautiful countryside of Gloucestershire. Katie is an outstanding teacher - a natural! She was careful to explain about the health and safety aspects and went on to explain the basics, traditional techniques as well as cutting-edge techniques too. She had examples of all the different stages so that we could touch and see, and so that we knew what to expect as we built up the layers of enamel. She carefully demonstrated the different stages in a way that kept you interested and engaged. She was mindful to ensure we were all making work quite quickly and magically ensured there was never a queue for the kiln. She built our confidence in the medium whilst ensuring we were also working safely. In Katie's half day workshop the materials were supplied and she had everyone's work station all organised prior to us arriving with a rainbow array of enamel powders, small glass nuggets and millefiori. There was a wide range of copper blanks to choose from too. Katie was kind enough to allow me to incorporate my own design and guided me in how I might get my desired result. Loved it and booking up again!
