Explore your creativity in enamels - an introductory morning of enamelling - for one

X

Description

Explore your creativity in Enamels. A one-to-one workshop. Take your first steps in this fantastic craft in which specially-made glass powders are melted and fused to a metal base in a kiln. The enamel powder is transformed into a hard, shiny surface, which can be decorated with further enamels and /or embellished with a variety of other forms of glass such as beads and millefiori. You will be helped to make a simple copper shape, learn to apply enamels, fire your work and make it into your own unique piece of enamelled jewellery (such as a pendant), or a small plaque to take home. A session will last between two to two and a half hours, dependent on design choices and if you would like to make an additional item. Thursday, Friday, or Saturday mornings are the session days. Usual start time is 10am, but there is flexibility for 10.30am or 11am for those travelling some distance. The workshop is suitable for beginners, or those who have a small amount of experience. No drawing ability is needed. Enamelling is for everyone and anyone can achieve a very satisfying result by the end of the session. Christine has been teaching enamelling at her studio at Avoncroft Arts Centre, on the outskirts of Bromsgrove, for around seven years and has many years experience in the craft. The studio workshop area is quite small and can accommodate groups of up to a maximum of four students. The workshops can be organised as and when requested, to suit an individual or group. Other dates can be arranged in addition to any specific ones offered here, please ask if you can’t find one to suit you. During the session you would be able to complete more than one item, if wished, or try out samples of techniques leading to a finished piece. Please see my other introductory course listings if you wish to come along with one or two friends, relatives or colleagues Price: Individual Tuition - £60 per session
