Enamelled jewellery for beginners and improvers - fired glass jewellery techniques
Enamelling is a wonderful craft. It is also one of the more unique things to learn in this day and age of craft experiences. Vitreous enamelling is the art of fusing glass to metal at high temperatures, using a kiln. In a one day class (approx 5 hours) you will learn the basics of enamelling, including equipment, materials and then counter-enamelling. I will then go on to teach you several techniques such as sifting, wet packing, applying media. It is great for jewellery makers and art lovers as you can create unique art to wear or hang on the wall. Just look at some of the masterpieces at the V&A to see how compelling this artform is. If you've been to a class before or would like to build on existing skills I can also teach additional techniques such as as wire work and cloisonné, swirling and grisaille, or even firing onto fine silver. COST My home workshop only fits up to 3 people, which means any course booked will not be cancelled due to low numbers. The course price shown is for ONE to ONE classes.
