My friend and I spent a wonderful day with Sally Anne weaving our stags heads and were amazed with the results after only a few hours! Now totally addicted to willow weaving we are going to book another course to weave a complete stag!

Myself and two friends spent the day with Sally Anne making small stags and a hare. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we were thrilled with what we had made in just one day, it didn’t seem possible. Sally Anne is an excellent teacher and shared with us lots of knowledge around her crafts. Barley is also a lovely village with 2 pubs and a cafe on the car park so you can combine your course with a nice lunch. I can’t wait to book on to another course and will definitely be recommending to friends.

Have just returned home after a session with SallyAnne making an obelisk. As a complete beginner was totally unsure what the course would be like. All I can say is that I had a thoroughly enjoyable day. I attended with my friend also a complete novice but with SallyAnnes help and encouragement we both made obelisks that we are very proud of. She is a lovely lady who is extremely passionate about her craft. Nothing was too much trouble and she guided us throughout the whole process. If anyone is thinking of doing a course with SallyAnne but is unsure get yourself booked you will have a great day and also come home with an object you will be pleased to show off to your friends and family. Thank you SallyAnne I hope to come back soon.

Sally Anne is a wonderful woman. We had a lovely one to one in a relaxed environment, she answered all of my questions and went above and beyond with assisting me in creating a white willow angel. I can't recommend her enough! I will most certainly be back to create some more beautiful pieces. Thank you again! Rebecca x

Today was my fourth course with Sally Ann so I think I am hooked ..... 3 willow products and a felt hare .
All have pride of place my Stag is happily decorated in the garden at Christmas and the basket will have bulbs growing in it come the new year my friend has hung the light holders in her concervatory and won't give them back, the hares are used when I make the Easter trail for the grandchildren and are loved!
I am a proud crafter with a thirst for more craft days
THANK YOU SallyAnn hope to see you soon.

My daughter and I have just spent the day with Sally Ann where she taught us how to willow weave and make a stags head.
Sally Ann is the most wonderful of teachers, she was soooo thorough and interesting, humourous, patient and kind. Her lemon drizzle cake was perfect too. 😁
We had the most enjoyable of days where we learnt not just the craft work but also history of the craft and the willow.
I can't imagine a course anywhere being so perfect, in every way.
A big thank you to Sally Ann for sharing her talent and skills with us. We're hooked and can't wait to come again learn more!
Sue Howatd - - #10014
I've just done a half-day course with SallyAnne making a willow light holder for the garden. I had a fantastic time learning something new. SallyAnne is an excellent tutor and the small group size meant we all had help when we needed it. I wish I lived a bit closer so I could do more willow work courses with SallyAnne, but am definitely going to have another go at one of her other willow projects next time I have some time off work. Excellent value for money and loved the cake and cuppa in the break!
Mary Allison - - #9267
Such a wonderful day. Loved every minute and so proud of my new skills learnt and the creation of a wonderful stag head! Want to do it all again tomorrow. Sally-Anne is a fab teacher, full of knowledge and helpful tips and ideas. My stag looks amazing, so chuffed to bits with it. Can't wait to sign up again on next weaving day.

My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic day making baskets with SallyAnne. We were both complete beginners, but came home with a lovely, sizable basket each. The pace of the day was perfect, with really good explanation of the techniques and lots of help where needed! Thank you again, we had a great time.

What a wonderful day! Sally-Anne immediately put me at ease and very quickly understood what I wanted from the day. I've learned about willow work and not only come away with finished willow balls that I am very proud of but also a multitude of ideas and techniques for the future. In an exquisitely beautiful setting, Sally-Anne was calm, engaging, knowledgeable and encouraging. It was very productive and enjoyable. I'd recommend it to anyone. Thank you Sally-Anne!

Sally- Anne really knows her stuff. A great welcome and knowledgeable tutor. I'm so pleased with my basket. Sally-Anne adapted my idea into a wonderful nest for my moorhens to use for their babies.
Su Ainsworth - - #8010
Thoroughly enjoyed the willow wreath course at Barley on Sunday, which I attended with my friend and sister. I have never done any willow work before, yet came away with a lovely spring wreath which now has pride of place in my conservatory. Sally-Anne is a wonderful teacher, who explains everything so well and is so warm and friendly. I'm going foraging tomorrow to find some dogwood to make another!
Barbara Wright - - #7963
I attended the Willow Weaving course on Sunday 19th February with my daughter. The course was beyond our expectations. The size of the group was perfect and the level of the teaching was easy to understand and very friendly. The refreshments provided were above and beyond! We were both inspired and motivated by what we saw on the workshop. I don't think you could improve on what was offered. We were rank beginners and yet we came home with a beautiful Spring wreath which is so impressive and professional looking. I would love to attend another course and considered it excellent value for money. Thank you.
Julie Waterworth - - #7882
Last Thursday I attended a Willow Wand workshop at the Crafternoon in Barley.
Sally Anne was as always excellent. I have previously made a Willow Angel and also spent a full day before Christmas making a wonderful stag.
Sally Anne is the most patient teacher, she is informative and if you think things aren't going quite right, she is very encouraging and gives you the belief you CAN do it.
Her courses are excellent value for money too
Sue Holden - - #7861
I have just spent the most enjoyable and constructive day with Sally-Ann making a beautiful stag, named Tom. Great teaching technique with just the right mix of verbal instruction and physical demos of the various processes required. I would recommend Sally-Ann to anyone serious about making willow weaving their new hobby.
Amanda Ackroyd - - #7485
Thank you for such an enjoyable day basket weaving Sally.
You were so approachable, informative and helpful, particularly to complete beginners as myself!
The pace and instruction were perfect. I never imagined we'd complete a whole basket in a day!
The atmosphere was made extra special by the Gathering fields location.....lovely and cozy with a large wood burning stove and fleece blankets for extra warmth if needed. Food was a bonus with a lovely Christmas atmosphere.
I would love to do more!
Many thanks again
I really enjoyed the learning experience and the final basket
Christine Ryan - - #7000

What a lovely day I had on the gypsy basking weaving course with Sally Anne.
The course was well organised and very interesting.
I have always wanted to try willow weaving, and was not disappointed when I finally got the chance.
It is not easy but, with Sally Anne's encouragement and great teaching, I have made a willow basket I am proud of (when I look at it now I still can't believe I made it!).
Joe Gilmour - - #6951

My daughter and I had a brilliant afternoon making willow Angels. Sally-Anne is a very patient and motivating teacher and we each came away with angels we are proud of. The relaxed and comfortable surroundings of Sally-Anne's delightful home added to the pleasure of the afternoon.

Christine Barber - - #6614
A second wonderful day with SallyAnne. We were delighted with the willow stags we made and struck once again by SallyAnne's generosity as a teacher and craftsperson. We had a day which stretched our brains and developed a whole different range of skills from the basket work we began with last time. SallyAnne is patient and sees just when help is needed. She builds confidence in those learning with her and takes delight in their learning.
Alison - - #6599
I attended the gypsy basking weaving course with Sally Anne. I found Sally Anne to be not only very welcoming but very easy to chat to and get along with. Her home is absolutely beautiful and so are the many willow crafted items around the place. I thoroughly enjoyed myself making my basket and Sally Anne was a great teacher. I am already considering what course to do with Sally Anne next!! :)
Sharon Robinson - - #6433
Thank you Sally Anne for a super day in your lovely cottage - with Cathy the dog and Dingle the cat. You were so patient and attentive during our willow weaving experience and were so pleased with what we both made. You made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We appreciated all the info you shared about the willow and the different techniques you were keen to share. Thanks again. Mick & Hazel
Mick & Hazel - - #6202
friendly atmosphere, small number of students makes it easier to ask questions and learn, good company especially the little dog and big cat :)
Ruth Hughes - - #6145
This half day workshop was suitable for people new to willow work and those with some experience. All successfully made a selection of 'Hearts' and dressed them with some lovely trimmings, which were available at no extra cost. Everyone had a lovely time, Beautiful lemon cake and tea was an extra treat.
Willow Hearts - - #5946
Had a lovely day with Sally Anne. As everyone has said she is very patient and a good teacher. Had never done willow weaving before but with Sally Anne's guidance I found the course therapeutic and was very pleased with my finished hare which has pride of place at home! Would recommend to anyone wishing to try something a little bit different.
karen Mackie - - #5763
Sally is an excellent and pleasant teacher, and however hard I might have found elements of making my hare, she rarely 'took over' which some craft teachers I've known are tempted to do. I had longed to do willow work for many years and if she and I lived closer I would certainly learn another craft with her. My willow hare is very proud of himself! I am exhausted but very pleased with him.
charlotte gringras - - #5605
I can honestly say this is one of the best courses I have been on. Sally Ann is a great teacher and it shows. I'm not the most gifted person at craft work, lose patience easily but was able with her teaching to complete two light holders. Wonderful that she is helping to keep this ancient craft going. Thank you Sally Ann and your hubby for the cuppa and refreshment.

I learnt so much, SallyAnne is a very patient, organised and encouraging teacher, with an enthusiasm and motivation to share her skills and knowledge. I felt relaxed and enjoyed every minute of this day. I would definitely recommend attending any of her courses, I will definitely be back for more. Thank you so much.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon with Sally Anne, making a willow light (to learn the basic techniques) and then a garden arbour, which I shall proudly place on my allotment to support my runner beans! We learned about the different types of willow and worked with two of these during the session. Sally Anne took us through everything at just the right pace, in a friendly and relaxed way, and we were really pleased with what we achieved. Will definitely be booking onto some of her other courses in the future!
Helen Lucas - - #5076

My daughter, Madi had a great time with Willow Witch of Pendle. She said making a small basket was great fun and really easy to do. It was really pretty with coloured ribbons and loved showing her friends at school. Sally-Anne is a natural with children helping to build their skills and confidence to complete the project themselves. We will be booking further rural craft workshops for her.
Simon Quy - - #4590

Today I learned how to work with willow, the importance of 'loving it' so it becomes pliable. Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon. Sally Ann you are a fantastic teacher and were so patient with 6 beginners. Making the spring wreaths was very therapeutic. I would love to learn more crafting techniques and will not hesitate to sign up again. Disappointed to learn I am away in May when you are making the lamp holders.
Susan Holden - - #4450
I loved making this basket and natural toiletries. I even managed to weave the basket with my arthritic fingers due to the help and support offered. Sally-Anne filled me with confidence to produce these natural products that help to keep me feeling young whilst being good for my body. I would more than recommend her workshops. Thank you
JOAN - - #4443
I made willow stars with Sally Anne, never having used willow before. I learned about the properties of willow, soaking and stroking, bending and tying! Who knew there was so much to learn? I succeeded in making enough stars to decorate and string with little lights to hang across my mantelpiece, and they look terrific. Fortunately Sally Anne is a patient teacher with a knack of knowing the moment to step in before frustratingly inexperienced fingers and thumbs ruin your masterpiece. I'll definitely be signing up for more courses.
Gil Beeke - - #4252
Thank you so much for the wonderful course. It was so relaxing and at the same time inspiring and educational. It was fun to share my learning experience with other students and I also got individual feedback on my basket weaving so that I could progress confidently. I have since also made a candle holder too which is so beautiful. Thank you for giving me a new skill that I can use at home and share with others. I will return! :)
Carmela Cruz - - #4243
Had a great time with Sally making a cool 2m high stag which is now in our garden
Matt Mitchell - - #4240
Yes! That Is me and my basket. Isn't it great! This was my first effort and now takes pride of place as the kitchen table fruit bowl. Sally-Anne is a wealth of crafting knowledge and is excellent at teaching the skills to complete beginners like me.
